THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Companies—and by extension—recruiters are ceaselessly looking for superstar candidates, those with rare skills and hard-to-find expertise.

And you can find those types of candidates in Top Echelon Network!

The proof can be found in this week’s installment of “‘Comments’ and Compliments,” where a split placement was made and one Network recruiter lauded another for providing a “needle in a haystack” candidate.

In addition, another Network recruiter praised their Trading Partner for their fourth split placement.  This once again proves that when two recruiters make one split together, it increases the chances that they’ll make more.

And that they’ll fill their clients’ open positions with “needle in a haystack” candidates!

Congratulations to everybody who made split placements this week!

Matt DeutschAs you’re probably already aware, this year marks the 25th anniversary of Top Echelon Network.

During those 25 years, there have been a TON of great stories that have happened because of this Network and the people who have been a part of it.

Some of these stories have been collected and published in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog (and before that, The Pinnacle hardcopy newsletter).  However, the majority of have NOT, and that’s something that needs to be rectified.

That’s why we want your Top Echelon Network stories!

Why?  We want to share these stories with other Network Members.  We want to showcase them on our (soon-to-be-new) website.  We want to share them with other recruiters to emphasize that there are great people and great recruiters in this Network.

Now, keep in mind that these can be any type of stories, just so long as they pertain to your Network Membership.  Some examples are as follows:

  • A split placement you made under extraordinary circumstances
  • The beginning of a Trading Partner relationship
  • A memory from a Top Echelon networking event (National Convention, Fall Conference, etc.)

These are just some examples.  By no means does the story have to fall within these categories.  Our goal is to collect these stories and create a “scrapbook” of sorts, a collection of memories that emphasize the camaraderie and friendships that have transpired during the past 25 years.

How do you tell your story?  One of two ways:

  1. Email your story to Marketing@TopEchelon.com.
  2. Send an email to MDeutsch@TopEchelon.com indicating your desire to be interviewed for a story, and I’ll be glad to give you a call!

Recruiting is a “people business,” and there are many recruiters whose lives have been enriched by the relationships they’ve formed with other people in Top Echelon Network.

We want to hear—and tell—the story of those relationships!>

SURVEY QUESTION:

Split PartnersSplit partner relationships are the lifeblood of Top Echelon Network.  There’s no doubt about that.  But how exactly do Network recruiters find new Trading Partners?

After all, even if you’re not a new Network recruiter, you can still find split partners in the Network you’ve haven’t made placements with.  Recent issues of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog have highlighted the fact that’s exactly what some recruiters in the Network are doing.

We recently conducted a survey of Network recruiters, and that survey was based upon the following question:

Which of the following tools do you use most often to find split partners?

SURVEY RESULTS:

The choice of answers that were provided is listed below, along with the percentage of recruiters who selected each answer:

  • Split Candidate Database — 15.7%
  • Split Job Order Database — 51.0%
  • “Who Works What” — 19.6%
  • MEGA Database — 0.0%
  • Call Drea (TE) — 13.7%

SURVEY ANALYSIS:

Network SurveyFar and away, the most popular answer among survey participants was “Split Job Order Database” at 51.0%.  “Who Works What” was a distant second at 19.6%, while “Split Candidate Database” finished third with 15.7% of the vote.

Top Echelon Network recruiters prefer to search the Split Job Order database in their quest to find new split partners.  While they certainly use other means to find split partners, this is how they find the most success.

FEEDBACK:

Which means to YOU use to find split partners in Top Echelon Network?  Are they the ones listed above, or do you have others?

THE RECRUITERS:

Ron Sunshine has made 21 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His firm, Ron Sunshine Associates, has been a Preferred Member since 2007.

Debra Bennett has made 1 placement as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Her firm, Velocity Search Group, has been a Preferred Member since April of 2013.

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

SURVEY QUESTION:

Networking is one of the cornerstones of success in Top Echelon Network, and face-to-face networking is even more so.  That’s why we hold a National Convention and a Fall Conference every year.

However, approximately how many Network recruiters meet each other on a face-to-face basis?

We recently conducted a survey of Network Members to find out the answer.

That survey was based upon the following question:

Have you met another Network recruiter face-to-face in the past year?

SURVEY RESULTS:

The choice of answers that were provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters who selected each answer:

  • Yes, I have. — 72.7%
  • No, I have not. — 27.3%

SURVEY ANALYSIS:

As expected, the majority of survey participants responded in the affirmative, as 72.7% chose “Yes, I have” as their answer.  The rest of the participants, of course, selected “No, I have not.”

Network SurveyMeeting another Network recruiter in person helps to ‘seal the deal,’ so to speak, on your Trading Partner relationship.  It makes it easier to call them when you get back to the office, to share information, and to trust them implicitly.

And you have a chance to meet other Network recruiters face-to-face in the near future: the 2013 Top Echelon Network Fall Conference!  The conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4, in Chicago. (We’ll be releasing more details in the near future.)

FEEDBACK:

Have you met another Network recruiter face-to-face in the past year?  If you have, what benefits did you derive from the meeting?  If not, why not, and do you plan to meet another Network recruiter before the end of 2013?

Yes, we’ve implored you to make website placements with Hiring Hook in the recent past . . . but we’re going to do it again.

Why?  Because even MORE recruiters have made website placements with Hiring Hook!

We’ve included those split placements—along with the Top Echelon Network recruiters associated with them—in this issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

Remember, with the help of Hiring Hook job board integration, these recruiters can post their jobs to their website and also to other Network recruiters’ websites.  The result?  More qualified candidates, more sendouts, and ultimately, more split fee recruiting placements.

If you don’t have a Hiring Hook Job Board on YOUR firm’s website, contact us today and we’ll tell you all about it.  In the meantime, below are the positions that were recently filled by Top Echelon Network recruiters.

  • Split PlacementsChief Financial Officer
  • Juvenile Furniture Designer
  • Plant Manager
  • Automation Manager
  • Senior Mechanical Engineer

We know for a fact that not every Top Echelon Network recruiter believes that there is value in attending our conferences and conventions.  How do we know that?

Because not every Top Echelon Network recruiter attends our conferences and conventions.

But you know who DOES attend?  Those recruiters who realize the true value of these events, namely the opportunity to meet new Network recruiters and make placements they probably would not have made otherwise.

If you’d like proof, we’d be more than happy to provide some . . .

The 2013 Top Echelon Network Fall Conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4, at the Sheraton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel.

Yes, there will be great speakers.  Yes, there will be fun.  Yes, there will be the “Windy City” of Chicago.

But more importantly, there will be the value of meeting other Network recruiters face-to-face, networking with them, and making split placements when you get back to the office.

Just like these recruiters did!

Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERSAs promised, we have a NEW short survey for Network recruiters this week.  Last week, our survey was presented as the “Desk Assessment Survey.”

This week, we have the “Membership Assessment Survey.”

This one, as you might have guessed, is more geared toward your Top Echelon Network Membership.  We want to know your likes, as well as your dislikes.  However, once again, this is just a two-question survey.

While the two questions are open-ended questions (as opposed to multiple choice), the survey should still only take two to three minutes to complete.  In fact, it could quite possibly take even less time than that.

Below are the two questions that comprise the “Membership Assessment Survey”:

1. What do you like the most about your Top Echelon Network Membership?  This can be ANY aspect of your Membership, but ideally, it’s the aspect that you believe provides you (and your firm) with the most value.

2. What do you like least about your Top Echelon Network Membership?  This can be ANY aspect of your Membership, but ideally, it’s the aspect that you believe provides the least amount of value to you (and your firm).

As before, there will be a text box in which you can type your answers to these two questions.  Your answers can as long or as short as you would like them to be.  Some recruiters have written only a few words, while other recruiters have written paragraphs.

Click here to take our ‘Membership Assessment’ survey!

If you have any questions about this survey or about your Top Echelon Network Membership, you can contact me at 330.455.1433, x156 or via email at drea@topechelon.com.

You may have heard that we at Top Echelon have moved into a new building.  And since we’ve moved into a new building, we’d love for you to visit us!

In fact, two Network recruiters have already paid a visit to our “new digs” in Canton, Ohio.  Those recruiters are David M. Sgro, CPC of True North Consultants, Inc. and Bob Gabor of The Gabor Group.

Of course, they were also good enough to pose for a photo op while they were in town, and the photos from those ops are located below:

Network recruiter David M. Sgro, CPC

ONE TO SGRO ON: Dave Sgro is pictured with Top Echelon employees J.D. Fye (left) and Lori Elliott.  True North Consultants is located in North Ridgeville, Ohio, just north of Canton.

Network recruiter Bob Gabor of The Gabor Group

WHAT ABOUT BOB?: Bob Gabor is pictured with Top Echelon employees Drea Codispoti (left) and Mark Demaree (right). As an Ohio State University alumnus, you can see Bob is doing his best to “represent.” OH . . . IO!

If you’re a Network recruiter and you find yourself in the Canton area, we’d love for you to pay us a visit, too!  Just give us a call at 330.455.1433 and we’ll set it up . . . including the photo op!

Oh, and don’t forget to visit our Facebook Fan Page.

Matt DeutschWhen a Top Echelon Network Preferred Member wants to recommend a split recruiter for their work in a split placement situation, they use a variety of descriptions to do so.

In this issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, those descriptions include the following:

  • “really good candidates”
  • “smooth process”
  • “great to work with”
  • “nice surprise”
  • “great candidate”
  • “timing was perfect”

Not only that, but one of the two split placements below is a recruiter’s first Network split in Top Echelon!  (We won’t give away the secret, but actually we will, because the recruiter’s name is Shannon Caston.)

Good . . . great . . . perfect.  These are just some of the words that Network recruiters are using to compliment and recommend one another.  All things being equal, there are worse things people can call you . . .

If you’d like to recommend another recruiter as the result of a recent Network split, submit your comments with your Completed Placement Form, and they’ll appear in a future issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.
