THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Okay, it’s not hockey season, where the term “hat trick” originated.  (It’s a term used to describe a player’s feat of scoring three goals in a single game.)

However, it IS split placement making season!  Which, thankfully for us, is year-round.

And we have another “recruiter hat trick” of split placement awesomeness in this issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.  We have recruiters who have made their first Network split placement together, as well as a pair of recruiters who have already made five splits together.

In fact, those same recruiters already have two other candidates in play, so they could make “a hat trick on top of a hat trick.”

Can they do that?  Is that even possible?  Of course it is!  We can do anything we want!  Do not attempt to adjust the picture.  We are controlling transmission . . .

Congratulations to everybody who made split placements this week!

THE AWARDS:

recruiter awardsAt Top Echelon Network, we recognize recruiters for both monthly and quarterly performance in four categories—Recruiter of the Month, Recruiter of the Quarter, Largest Split Fee of the Month, and Largest Split Fee of the Quarter.

For more information about the recruiter awards listed below, login to the Members’ Area and view the profiles and placement details of the Network recruiters who won them.

— — —

RECRUITER OF THE QUARTER:

Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group

Trey Cameron

Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group

Yes, Trey Cameron made 19 split placements in Top Echelon Network during the second quarter of 2014.  However, it’s not even the first time he’s made 19 splits in a single quarter!  He also accomplished the feat during the third quarter of 2013.

Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search was second with nine splits, and three recruiters followed him with five split placements apiece.  They were Bob Small of Carroll Technology Services, Inc.; Joan R. Walters, CPC of JR Walters Resources; and David M. Sgro, CPC of True North Consultants, Inc.

 — — —

OUR CRITERIA FOR THESE RECRUITER AWARDS:

Top Echelon Network determines the monthly and quarterly recruiter award winners based upon two things, which are listed below in order of importance:

1.) The number of split placements made
2.) The amount of cash-in dollars earned as a result of those split placements

This explains why, when multiple recruiters are tied with the same number of split placements during a given month or quarter, the recruiter with the largest “cash-in” total for their placements is deemed the winner.

Early Bird Registration for the 2014 Top Echelon Network Fall Conference started on Monday, June 9, but in case you didn’t know that . . . we’re telling you again!

We’re also formally asking you to attend the conference with this special video invitation!  What’s so special about this invitation?  It’s a video.  (Didn’t we establish that?)

So, for your viewing edification, we present:

As you might also already know, the Fall Conference will be held at the Sheraton O’Hare Hotel in Chicago on Tuesday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 24.

You can sign up for the Fall Conference in the Members’ Area for the low Early Bird Registration price of $199 per person.  And if you sign up now, Membership Development Coordinator Drea Codispoti will wash your car!

(Actually, no . . . no, he won’t.  But he will attempt to hurt me for saying that.)

When it comes to split placements, it’s not just the third time that’s the charm.

So is the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, and so on and so on.  Such is the case with Top Echelon Network recruiters Catherine Bateman of Woods & Paolino Recruiting Solutions and Paul Johnson of Paul Johnson & Associates.

Recruitment NetworkingBateman and Johnson have made four split placements in the Network during the past six weeks, and they’ve made five split placements overall during the past 12 months.  Clearly, they’ve built a Trading Partner relationship that works and works WELL.

The secret to their success?  It can be summed up best by their comments, which are located below: “effective and timely communication” and “an excellent candidate.”

Bateman started recruiting in 2012.  Johnson started recruiting in 1998.  Once again, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in the game.  When it comes to split placements, you can make them with anybody at any time at any stage of your career.

All you need is a good Trading Partner who works well with you. Then you, too, can make four splits in six weeks!

Matt DeutschTrust is one of the Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network . . . and it’s also the focus of this story about honesty and integrity in the Network.

Janet Miller of Computer Management, Inc. here and Jeff Gilbert of Kingfish Technology, LLC have been Trading Partners for quite some time.  In fact, the two have made a total of 14 split placements together, but it was their most recent split that demonstrates the fact their Trading Partner relationship has evolved to what could almost be called the “Masters Level.”

Miller and Gilbert have made three split placements so far in 2013.  In June, the two placed a SFDC Consultant.  Gilbert was the job order recruiter, and Miller was the candidate recruiter.  After the placement had been completed, the candidate gave Gilbert the name of a Senior Sales Director.

“Jeff happened to comment to me that [the candidate] gave him the name of somebody,” said Miller, who’s made a total of 63 placements in Top Echelon Network.  “I don’t place sales people, so I really didn’t give it that much attention.  I didn’t know that Jeff called the candidate.”

Call the candidate Jeff did, and you guessed it . . . place the candidate Jeff did, as well.

So what did he do after that?

“Jeff called me up a month ago, and he said, “Good news, you just made $17,000,’” said Miller.  “He had placed the candidate as a Senior Sales Executive.  He never told me that the candidate was interviewing, but he called me after the placement was made to tell me he was splitting the fee with me.”

The total fee for this split placement: $34,000.

“The candidate who gave Jeff the name of this other candidate never called me and told me that he did so,” said Miller.  “Jeff set up all of the interviews and did all of the preps, and after it was over, he called me to tell me that I had made all this money.”

Needless to say, Miller thinks very highly of Gilbert and values the Trading Partner relationship that she has with him.

“Jeff is such an honest recruiter,” she said.  “What he did with this placement blew me away.”

Network Recruiter Jeff GilbertNetwork Recruiter Janet Miller“Janet, you continue to amaze me with the quality of the candidates you present . . . not to mention all of the hard work and dedication you put into each and every search!  You are the best!”

Submitted by Jeff Gilbert of Kingfish Technology, LLC regarding his split placement with Janet Miller of Computer Management, Inc.

Position Title—DIRECTOR OF SALES

Fee Percentage—20%

(Editor’s note: this is the 14th split placement that Gilbert and Miller have made together in Top Echelon Network.)

Matt DeutschAs you’re probably already aware, this year marks the 25th anniversary of Top Echelon Network.

During those 25 years, there have been a TON of great stories that have happened because of this Network and the people who have been a part of it.

Some of these stories have been collected and published in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog (and before that, The Pinnacle hardcopy newsletter).  However, the majority of have NOT, and that’s something that needs to be rectified.

That’s why we want your Top Echelon Network stories!

Why?  We want to share these stories with other Network Members.  We want to showcase them on our (soon-to-be-new) website.  We want to share them with other recruiters to emphasize that there are great people and great recruiters in this Network.

Now, keep in mind that these can be any type of stories, just so long as they pertain to your Network Membership.  Some examples are as follows:

  • A split placement you made under extraordinary circumstances
  • The beginning of a Trading Partner relationship
  • A memory from a Top Echelon networking event (National Convention, Fall Conference, etc.)

These are just some examples.  By no means does the story have to fall within these categories.  Our goal is to collect these stories and create a “scrapbook” of sorts, a collection of memories that emphasize the camaraderie and friendships that have transpired during the past 25 years.

How do you tell your story?  One of two ways:

  1. Email your story to Marketing@TopEchelon.com.
  2. Send an email to MDeutsch@TopEchelon.com indicating your desire to be interviewed for a story, and I’ll be glad to give you a call!

Recruiting is a “people business,” and there are many recruiters whose lives have been enriched by the relationships they’ve formed with other people in Top Echelon Network.

We want to hear—and tell—the story of those relationships!>

SPLIT PLACEMENTS THIS WEEK:

With two more split placements, Michael Stuck of Gables Search Group, Inc. now has a total of 28 during his time as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Stuck has made 17 of those 28 placements this year.

Not only that, but Stuck is currently ranked #5 in the Network in terms of overall production during the past 12 months, and is gaining on the #4 recruiter, Maria Hemminger of MJ Recruiters, LLC. Look out, Maria. Better make some (more) placements.

Another thing to note with this week’s placements is the number of engineers being placed. This has been a trend since the beginning of the year: Network recruiters are placing a substantial number of engineers, across a number of niches.  This certainly bodes well for that industry and for the recruiters who work in that industry.
