SURVEY QUESTION:

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a Preferred Member of Top Echelon Network, you can always make split placements with a new Trading Partner.

We’ve been touting that for quite some time now, but we decided to find out how often it happens.  After all, it’s always good to back up your claims with actual data.

So, you guessed it, we decided to conduct a survey of the Network Membership.  We did that by posting a question in the Members’ Area (as we are wont to do).

That question was as follows:

Have you made a split placement with a new Trading Partner within the past 12 months?

SURVEY RESULTS:

The choice of answers that were provided is listed below, along with the percentage of recruiters who selected each answer:

  • Yes, one new Trading Partner — 19.5%
  • Yes, two new Trading Partners — 20.8%
  • Yes, three new Trading Partners — 7.8%
  • Yes, more than three new Trading Partners — 15.6%
  • No — 36.4%

SURVEY ANALYSIS:

Recruitment SurveyMore than half of the recruiters participating in the survey have made a split placement with a new Trading Partner within the past six months.  In fact, 63.6% of them have done so, and some have made splits with more than one new Partner.

Of course, that means 36.4% of recruiters have NOT made a split with a new Trading Partner.  However, that doesn’t mean they didn’t make splits with existing Trading Partners.  In fact, it’s very likely that was the case, which is fine, because the money they earned spends just the same.

FEEDBACK:

Have you made a split placement with a new Trading Partner within the past 12 months?  More than one?  What do you believe is the most important aspect of forming a Trading Partner relationship?

SURVEY QUESTION:

Social media has changed the way recruiters conduct business.  Of course, the social media platform that’s most popular with executive recruiters is LinkedIn, which touts itself as “The world’s largest professional network.”

Although LinkedIn is popular with recruiters, how integral is it to the recruiting process?  In other words, how valuable is LinkedIn to the process that recruiters use to find and successfully recruit candidates for their clients’ job orders?

Well, it just so happens that we have answers to these questions.

We recently conducted a survey of Top Echelon Network recruiters, and that survey was based upon the following question:

How valuable is LinkedIn as a tool for your recruiting process?

SURVEY RESULTS:

The choice of answers that were provided is listed below, along with the percentage of recruiters who selected each answer:

  • Extremely valuable — 55.0%
  • Somewhat valuable — 31.7%
  • Not that valuable — 5.0%
  • I’m undecided. — 3.3%
  • I don’t use LinkedIn for my recruiting process. — 5.0%

SURVEY ANALYSIS:

Recruiter SurveyAs one might guess, the majority of recruiters believe that LinkedIn is valuable to their recruiting process to some degree.  Over half (55%) chose “extremely valuable” as their answer, while 31.7% selected “somewhat valuable.”

However, that still leaves 13.3% of survey participants who don’t find value in LinkedIn.  In fact, 5% of participants have not made LinkedIn part of their recruiting process.

So while LinkedIn has definitely become the social media platform of choice for executive recruiters, not ALL recruiters consider it to be a “sourcing nirvana.”  (But the majority?  Absolutely.)

FEEDBACK:

How important is LinkedIn to YOUR recruiting process?  Did you participate in the survey described above?  If not, what’s your answer?

SURVEY QUESTION:

Candidate RecruiterMuch of the success recruiters enjoy in Top Echelon Network is predicated upon Members’ willingness to share their jobs with the rest of the Network.  The more jobs are shared, the more split placements are made.

We recently conducted a survey of Network recruiters in the Members’ Area to find out more about their attitudes about sharing jobs with other Members.

That survey was based upon the following question:

When you receive a job order from a client, how soon do you post it on TE?

SURVEY RESULTS:

The choice of answers that were provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters who selected each answer:

  • Immediately — 35.6%
  • Within a few days — 26.0%
  • Within a week — 13.7%
  • Longer than a week — 15.1%
  • I don’t post my jobs on TE. — 9.6%

SURVEY ANALYSIS:

Network SurveyOver a third of participants post their jobs “immediately” to the Network, while another 26% post them “within a few days” and 13.7% post them “within a week.”

That means of the Network recruiters who responded to this survey, over three-fourths of them (75.3%) post their jobs within a week of receiving the job order from their client.

As for the nearly 10% of Network recruiters who don’t post their jobs on TE?  They might be exporters only, or they might share their jobs only with certain Trading Partners via email.

FEEDBACK:

What are your practices within the Network?  Which of the survey choices above most closely describes the way in which you post jobs?

Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERSAs promised, we have a NEW short survey for Network recruiters this week.  Last week, our survey was presented as the “Desk Assessment Survey.”

This week, we have the “Membership Assessment Survey.”

This one, as you might have guessed, is more geared toward your Top Echelon Network Membership.  We want to know your likes, as well as your dislikes.  However, once again, this is just a two-question survey.

While the two questions are open-ended questions (as opposed to multiple choice), the survey should still only take two to three minutes to complete.  In fact, it could quite possibly take even less time than that.

Below are the two questions that comprise the “Membership Assessment Survey”:

1. What do you like the most about your Top Echelon Network Membership?  This can be ANY aspect of your Membership, but ideally, it’s the aspect that you believe provides you (and your firm) with the most value.

2. What do you like least about your Top Echelon Network Membership?  This can be ANY aspect of your Membership, but ideally, it’s the aspect that you believe provides the least amount of value to you (and your firm).

As before, there will be a text box in which you can type your answers to these two questions.  Your answers can as long or as short as you would like them to be.  Some recruiters have written only a few words, while other recruiters have written paragraphs.

Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERSAt Top Echelon Network, we want to help you make more placements.  While we ARE a split placement Network, we want to help you make both split and non-split placements.

With that in mind, we encourage you to take our “Desk Assessment Survey.”  We sent out an email last week to every Network recruiter with a link to the survey.

While participation in the survey has been healthy to this point, there’s a chance you didn’t see the email in your inbox (or you—gasp!—ignored it).

In any case, keep in mind this is just a two-question survey that should take you no more than two or three minutes to complete.  Below are the two questions:

1. Throughout the placement process, there are a number of steps that lead to a completed placement.  To improve your effectiveness within the process, what specific areas could you use help with to improve your productivity, and ultimately, your billings?  These areas may include (but are not limited to) client development, marketing, sourcing, recruiting, administration, management, advertising, etc.  You can list as many as you’d like, and please be as specific as possible.

2. Are there specific areas within the placement process in which you excel and possess an expertise?  They may include (but are not limited to) client development, marketing, sourcing, managing recruiters, running an agency, advertising, etc.  You can list as many as you’d like, and please be as specific as possible.

As you might imagine, there will be a text box in which you can type your answers to these two questions.  Of course, your answers can as long or as short as you would like them to be.  So far, some recruiters have written only a few words, while other recruiters have written paragraphs.

We’ll be presenting more short surveys in the future, all of which will be designed to help serve you better as customers—in other words, designed to help you make more placements!
