The Preferred Member recruiter in focus this week is Debi Apple of Apple & Assoc. Inc., who has two split placements in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

Recent PlacementsApple has enjoyed a productive year so far in the Network, with nine split placements, five of which are completed and four still in the verbal stage.  However, what’s noteworthy about those placements is that they take different forms.

For one thing, they were all generated by Apple’s Hiring Hook recruitment website design.  In addition, one of them was a contract split placement.  That just goes to show that no matter what form they take—contract, website, or traditional—they’re all split placements, no matter how you slice them.

Here’s to another week of slicing and dicing in Top Echelon Network.

THIS WEEK’S COMPLETED SPLIT PLACEMENTS!

What qualities do Top Echelon Network Preferred Member recruiters want in their Trading Partners?  Well, a lot of them, actually . . . but we have at least two in this week’s installment of “Comments and Compliments“!

Those qualities, which are included below, form the framework of yet another formula for success in the Network.  That formula is as follows:

‘Responsive’ + ‘Supportive’ = ‘Thrilled’

'Comments' and ComplimentsRecruiters want Trading Partners who are responsive and supportive, among many other things.  However, when those two qualities are exhibited during a search, not only is the client thrilled with the candidates provided, but both recruiters are also thrilled because they get to split a fee from a placement they probably would not have made on their own.

And as a recruiter, is there a better reason to be thrilled?  We think not.

If you’d like to thank another recruiter for their efforts in a split placement situation, send your information to marketing@topechelon.com.  Your comments might be included in an upcoming issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog!

We live in a website world.  In fact, we eat, breathe, shop, and even recruit in a website world . . . and there’s more proof of that with each passing day.

What proof?  This proof: the number of Preferred Member recruiters who are making split placements because of their Hiring Hook recruitment website design.

Take, for instance, the recruiters below.  The placement fees they split were the direct result of their Hiring Hook websites, specifically, the Job Board functionality of those sites.  Because of that functionality, candidates nominated themselves for posted jobs—jobs that were eventually filled by one of the candidates.

So if you don’t have the Job Board integration that comes with a Hiring Hook website, give us a call at (330) 455-1433.  Join the growing number of recruiters who are making more placements because of their Hiring Hook website.

After all, if you’re going to live in a website world, you might as well make more money while you’re there.

How do you enjoy more success in Top Echelon Network?  By meeting other Preferred Member recruiters face-to-face, that’s how.  That’s been proven time and again and again and again . . .

And look, it’s been proven again!

A total of 30 recruiters convened on Wednesday, November 28, at the Catering by Design Center in Columbus for the annual meeting of the Ohio Regional Core Group.  These recruiters networked, traded hot job orders and candidates, and generally picked each other’s brains about their industries, the job market, and recruiting in general.

So what does this mean?  Among other things, it means that not only will these recruiters make more split placements, but they’ll also make more placements overall, now that they’ve used this networking opportunity to sharpen their skills, streamline their process, and overcome obstacles on their desk.

Click here to access photos from the Ohio Regional Core Group Meeting!

If you’d like to join an existing Regional Core Group in Top Echelon Network (or start a new one), contact Membership Development Coordinator Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS at (330) 455-1433, Ext. 156.

And don’t forget to send us photos of your next Regional Core Group meeting, wherever that may be, so we can share them with the rest of the Membership . . . and on Facebook, too.  Of course.

Well . . . it’s not really a “2-for-1 special” on split placements, but lightning definitely struck twice for two Preferred Member recruiters recently.

We reported the first bolt of lightning in last week’s issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

Now, just a short time later, we’re reporting the second.  The Preferred Member recruiters involved are Cheryl Campbell Lang, CPC of Career Search Associates and Angela Jacobson of Capstone Sourcing Center, Inc.

Recent PlacementsCampbell and Jacobson filled not one, but two positions at Campbell’s client, and as we documented in our “‘Comments’ and Compliments” feature, it’s a client that prides itself on being highly selective.  That makes these two rapid-fire split fee recruiting placements all the more impressive, and it also underscores the value of the Network and of relying on your Trading Partners to help fill important positions.

It also proves, once again, that the only thing better than a split placement . . . is TWO split placements.

THIS WEEK’S COMPLETED SPLIT PLACEMENTS!

It’s no secret that recruiters like a speedy hiring and split placement process.

It’s also no secret that a speedy hiring and placement process is also beneficial for companies, too, since it reduces the chance that they’ll miss out on top talent (especially if that talent accepts another offer because the company is moving at roughly the speed of glacial drift).

Unfortunately, a speedy process is often the exception and not the rule.  However, there is a way to “speed” up the placement process, and that’s with a Top Echelon Network Trading Partner!

'Comments' and ComplimentsThat’s because Trading Partners are just that—partners in the placement process.  They’re in the trenches of the placement with you, facing the same challenges and overcoming the same obstacles.  You can bounce ideas off one another, and you can tag-team the search.

The result?  Not only a placement that you might not have made on your own, but also a placement that happened more quickly than it would have otherwise.  Really, how can you beat making money you wouldn’t have made by yourself and making it faster than you would have made it even if you HAD made it by yourself in the first place?

I know, I know . . . easier done than said.

If you’d like to thank another member of the recruiter network for their efforts in a split placement situation, send your information to marketing@topechelon.com.  Your comments might be included in an upcoming issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

We’ve chronicled in the past how patience and persistence in recruiting can pay off.  And not just what could be considered a “normal” amount, either.  We’re talking about extraordinary levels of patience and persistence . . . like the levels involved in this story of Top Echelon Network split placement success.

The story, of course, involves two Preferred Member recruiters: Tom Heeney, CPC of Corporate Resources, LLC and Lloyd Shoemaker of Miami Professional Search, LLC.  All you really need to tell you about the split placement that Heeney and Shoemaker made is contained in the information listed below:

Job search: began one year and nine months ago in January of 2011
Job title: began as a Senior Design Engineer
Job title accepted: Lead Technical Support Engineer
Initial salary range: $50K-$60K + bonus, no relocation
Number of candidates interviewed: 34
Offer accepted: $84,500

'Comments' and Compliments ExtraEVERYTHING about this job order changed from the time that Heeney received it, from the job title to the initial salary range.  Not only that, but a total of 34 candidates were interviewed for the position.

However, because of the tenacity of the recruiters involved, they rode the ebb and flow of recruiting, hiring, and placement process, and now they’ve reaped the benefits of their seemingly endless patience and persistence.  The kicker is that this is the FIRST split placements that Heeney and Shoemaker have made together in Top Echelon Network . . . and what a memorable one it is.

If you’d like to thank another recruiter for their efforts in a split placement situation, send your information to marketing@topechelon.com.  Your comments might be included in an upcoming issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog!

<id=”img-1329855463015″>Tom Heeney, CPC“Lloyd presented the candidate, who did not have the desired industry, who wanted more money then the proposed salary range and who had no sense of urgency to make a change.  Candidate and employer were both driven by quality.  Sometimes we just get lucky!”

Submitted by Tom Heeney, CPC of Corporate Resources, LLC regarding his split placement with Lloyd Shoemaker of Miami Professional Search, LLC

Position Title—LEAD TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER
Fee Percentage—25%

(Editor’s note: this is the first split placement that Heeney and Shoemaker have made together in Top Echelon Network.)

— — —

Lloyd Shoemaker“I give Tom all the credit in the world for sticking with this placement. Twenty-one months is a long time, and 99% of us would have given up, but not Tom.  All I did was place the candidate in the Network, as I do all of my candidates, and if I remember correctly, Tom found him there.  I just love persistence!  Yea, Tom!”

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and what’s goes well with turkey, gravy, and pumpkin pie?

Stuffing?  Yes, I suppose stuffing does.  And green beans, too?  Yes, you got me there.

Recent PlacementsSplit placements!  The answer is split placements!  Because split placements taste at least as good as those other things, and there’s nothing better than making a split right before the holiday.

(And not only that, half a pie is better than no pie at all, although on most days, half a pie is better than half a loaf of bread.  But I digress . . .)

So while we’re in the giving mood, let’s give thanks for our family, our friends, and our Trading Partners.  Trading job orders and candidates with just one Trading Partner can produce plenty of split placements—and a relationship like that is something for which you should be thankful throughout the whole year.

Pass the rolls, please.

First, she was profiled in our “Split Placement Spotlight.”  Now, Cindy Andrew Cordell, CPC of Corporate Resources, LLC is part of our “Comments and Compliments” feature.

Why is that?  Because she took the time to compliment the Trading Partners in her two most recent split placements.

'Comments' and ComplimentsAnd as an added bonus, these were the first split fee recruiting placements that Cordell has made with these particular partners.  In fact, one of recruiters involved has only been a Preferred Member recruiter since March of 2011.

The main theme running through these compliments: “easy to work with.”  If that describes you, then you have an excellent chance to make split placements in Top Echelon Network—just like the recruiters included in this week’s installment of “‘Comments’ and Compliments.”

If you’d like to thank another recruiter for their efforts in a split placement situation, send your information to marketing@topechelon.com.  Your comments might be included in an upcoming issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

As we approach our 25th anniversary, we’ve been highlighting our more tenured recruiters in Top Echelon Network, those Preferred Members who have been with us for years and have been successful for years.

Sometimes, those recruiters make our job easy by making two split placements in one week!

Recent PlacementsSuch is the case with Cindy Andrew Cordell, CPC of Corporate Resources, LLC.  Cordell has made 34 split placements in the Network, including three this year.  She’s worked as both an importer and an exporter within the Network, providing the job order half of the time and the candidate half of the time in split placement situations.

In addition, Cordell has attended a number of Top Echelon Network events, such as the annual National Convention and Fall Conference.  She knows the importance of networking and of all Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network.

And that’s why she’s in the “Split Placement Spotlight”!
