How do you enjoy more success in Top Echelon Network?  By meeting other Preferred Member recruiters face-to-face, that’s how.  That’s been proven time and again and again and again . . .

And look, it’s been proven again!

A total of 30 recruiters convened on Wednesday, November 28, at the Catering by Design Center in Columbus for the annual meeting of the Ohio Regional Core Group.  These recruiters networked, traded hot job orders and candidates, and generally picked each other’s brains about their industries, the job market, and recruiting in general.

So what does this mean?  Among other things, it means that not only will these recruiters make more split placements, but they’ll also make more placements overall, now that they’ve used this networking opportunity to sharpen their skills, streamline their process, and overcome obstacles on their desk.

If you’d like to join an existing Regional Core Group in Top Echelon Network (or start a new one), contact Membership Development Coordinator Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS at (330) 455-1433, Ext. 156.

And don’t forget to send us photos of your next Regional Core Group meeting, wherever that may be, so we can share them with the rest of the Membership . . . and on Facebook, too.  Of course.

Well . . . it’s not really a “2-for-1 special” on split placements, but lightning definitely struck twice for two Preferred Member recruiters recently.

We reported the first bolt of lightning in last week’s issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

Now, just a short time later, we’re reporting the second.  The Preferred Member recruiters involved are Cheryl Campbell Lang, CPC of Career Search Associates and Angela Jacobson of Capstone Sourcing Center, Inc.

Recent PlacementsCampbell and Jacobson filled not one, but two positions at Campbell’s client, and as we documented in our “‘Comments’ and Compliments” feature, it’s a client that prides itself on being highly selective.  That makes these two rapid-fire split fee recruiting placements all the more impressive, and it also underscores the value of the Network and of relying on your Trading Partners to help fill important positions.

It also proves, once again, that the only thing better than a split placement . . . is TWO split placements.

THIS WEEK’S COMPLETED SPLIT PLACEMENTS!

Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERSAs I announced recently, Early Bird Registration for the 2013 Top Echelon Network National Convention starts on December 5 (that’s next Wednesday, for those of you keeping track at home).

As always, the convention will be sensibly priced for the Preferred Membership.  We haven’t raised the price of our National Convention in years.  In fact, we’ve even dropped the price.  That’s how much we believe in the value that the convention offers.

However, we’re not the only ones who believe in that value.  There are plenty of Preferred Member recruiters who believe, as well, and that’s because, as the saying goes, “seeing is believing.”  Specifically, these recruiters have seen the results in the form of split placements and additional revenue for their recruiting firms.

Two of those recruiters—Cindy Szajkovics of Bulldog Recruiters and Pete Oettinger of Front Line Solutions—are featured below.  They met for the first time this past spring at the 2012 National Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

As a result of that meeting, they recently made a split placement together, a placement they might not have made otherwise, and that means they could make even more splits in the future.  (Where there’s one, there could be many.)

Peter Oettinger“Pete has helped us by sending qualified candidates, and we look forward to more splits.  We met him at the Nashville convention, and it’s a relationship we will continue!”

Submitted by Cindy Szajkovics of Bulldog Recruiters, Inc. regarding her split placement with Peter Oettinger of Front Line Solutions, LLC

Position Title—POWER GENERATOR FIELD TECHNICIAN
Fee Percentage—20%

(Editor’s note: this is the first split placement that Szajkovics and Oettinger have made together in Top Echelon Network.)

The 2013 Top Echelon Network National Convention is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, through Saturday, April 27, at the TradeWinds Resort Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Remember, the main speaker for the convention is Danny Cahill of AccordingtoDanny.com, one of the most recognized and respected names in the recruiting industry!

And yes, next year marks the 25th anniversary of Top Echelon Network.  And yes, we want you to attend the National Convention.  And yes, it’s going to be fun.  And yes, if you attend, you could make money with people you’ve never met before.

So when when I ask if you’ll register for the convention next week, I hope your answer will be “Yes!”

It’s no secret that recruiters like a speedy hiring and split placement process.

It’s also no secret that a speedy hiring and placement process is also beneficial for companies, too, since it reduces the chance that they’ll miss out on top talent (especially if that talent accepts another offer because the company is moving at roughly the speed of glacial drift).

Unfortunately, a speedy process is often the exception and not the rule.  However, there is a way to “speed” up the placement process, and that’s with a Top Echelon Network Trading Partner!

'Comments' and ComplimentsThat’s because Trading Partners are just that—partners in the placement process.  They’re in the trenches of the placement with you, facing the same challenges and overcoming the same obstacles.  You can bounce ideas off one another, and you can tag-team the search.

The result?  Not only a placement that you might not have made on your own, but also a placement that happened more quickly than it would have otherwise.  Really, how can you beat making money you wouldn’t have made by yourself and making it faster than you would have made it even if you HAD made it by yourself in the first place?

I know, I know . . . easier done than said.

If you’d like to thank another member of the recruiter network for their efforts in a split placement situation, send your information to marketing@topechelon.com.  Your comments might be included in an upcoming issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

(Editor’s Note: This is the next in a series of guest blog posts about contract staffing, courtesty of Top Echelon Contracting, the recruiter’s back-office solution.  Similar posts will appear in future issues of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.)

Debbie FledderjohannDemand for temporary/contract workers in the professional sector is expected to exceed previous records in 2012 and 2013, according to Staffing Industry Analysts’ U.S. Staffing Industry Forecast.

Specifically, the IT Staffing and Engineering/Design industry segments within the Professional/Specialty sector are expected to beat previous records for staffing revenue.  IT Staffing’s revenue previously peaked in 2000.

This year, the industry is expected to generate 107% of 2000’s revenue by the end of this year and 116% in 2013.  In 2012, Engineering/Design is expected to bring in 106% of the revenue from its previous peak year of 2008 and 111% in 2013.

Meanwhile, the usage of “temps” in the office/clerical industry appears to be declining. It is projected that in 2012, the industry will only hit 85% of its previous 2006 peak and only 89% in 2013.

This correlates with what Top Echelon® Contracting has been experiencing.  Engineering and IT have landed in our top three industries for contract placements for the past several years, and we are expecting the same for 2012.  We have particularly seen an increase in the engineering/manufacturing sector and have begun accepting more placements in this area.

So what does this mean to you as a recruiter?  Well first of all, if you are looking for a niche in which to offer contract staffing services, it’s pretty clear that IT and Engineering are good places to start and have longevity.
