Sean Herndon of Employment Partners Group and Richard Connors of Vista Technology

MEETING OF THE MASSACHUSETTS MINDS: Top Echelon Network Preferred Member recruiters Sean Herndon of Employment Partners Group (left) and Richard Connors of Vista Technology met each other face-to-face recently for discussing business and recruiter networking.  Since both of their firms are located in Massachusetts, there’s a good chance they also discussed the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox!

We at Top Echelon Network are continually emphasizing that Members should meet one another on a face-to-face basis.  That’s one of the many reasons we hold  National Convention and Fall recruiter conferences every year.  But we also like to encourage Members to meet outside of those events, and as often as possible.

The photo above was emailed to Top Echelon by Network recruiter Sean Herndon of Employment Partners Group, who recently met with fellow Preferred Member Richard Connors of Vista Technology.  Herndon just joined the Network a little over a week ago, but he’s already “hitting the ground running” by meeting another Network recruiter and potential Trading Partner.  By engaging in face-to-face recruiter networking, he’s definitely off to a good start in terms of doing the things a recruiter needs to do to be successful in Top Echelon Network!

If you have information and/or a photo of your latest face-to-face meeting with another Preferred Member recruiter, please send that information to marketing@topechelon.com.

When it comes to split placements, it’s not just the third time that’s the charm.

So is the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, and so on and so on.  Such is the case with Top Echelon Network recruiters Catherine Bateman of Woods & Paolino Recruiting Solutions and Paul Johnson of Paul Johnson & Associates.

Recruitment NetworkingBateman and Johnson have made four split placements in the Network during the past six weeks, and they’ve made five split placements overall during the past 12 months.  Clearly, they’ve built a Trading Partner relationship that works and works WELL.

The secret to their success?  It can be summed up best by their comments, which are located below: “effective and timely communication” and “an excellent candidate.”

Bateman started recruiting in 2012.  Johnson started recruiting in 1998.  Once again, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in the game.  When it comes to split placements, you can make them with anybody at any time at any stage of your career.

All you need is a good Trading Partner who works well with you. Then you, too, can make four splits in six weeks!

THE SPLIT RECRUITERS:

Maria Hemminger has made 78 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Her agency, MJ Recruiters, LLC, has been a Preferred Member since 2005.

Recruiter CommentsDavid M. Sgro has made 58 placements as one of the Top Echelon Network top recruiters.  His agency, True North Consultants, Inc., has been a Preferred Member since 2006.

Angela Marasco has made 84 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Her agency, A. Marasco Recruiting, LLC, has been a Preferred Member since 2007.

Nick Stoia has made 29 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His agency, ASAP Search & Recruiters, has been a Preferred Member since 1999.

Eric V. Stearley, CPC has made 20 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His agency, Eric V. Stearley, CPC & Associates, has been a Preferred Member since 2007.

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

While in the midst of recognizing and praising numerous Network recruiters for their success in Top Echelon, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention this recruiter: David M. Sgro, CPC of True North Consultants, Inc.

Sgro is in his second stint as a Preferred Member, and since re-joining the Network in 2006, he’s made 55 placements (he made three during his first Network stint).  That’s an average of nearly eight placements per year.

If every recruiter in Top Echelon Network make an average of nearly eight placements per year, we’d hold a ticker tape parade.  (At the very least, we’d have a “cupcake and jello party” . . . c’mon, those are fun.)

Anyway, there are three main reasons why Sgro is a model Network recruiter:

1. He’s “split minded.”  That means split placements are foremost in his mind.  He looks for opportunities to make split placements.  He doesn’t sit back and wait for splits to “come to him.”

2. He networks relentlessly.  Sgro attends nearly every National Convention and Fall Conference.  He also attends numerous Regional Core Group meetings in Ohio and events such as “Top Echelon Networking on the FARM” (referenced below).  The results speak for themselves.

3. He believes in the pillar of Trust.  There are Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network.  The most important of them is Trust, and Sgro has built iron-clad Trading Partner relationships (Maria Hemminger, Bob Small, Angela Marasco) that are typified by this Pillar.

Are there more than three reasons?  Probably, but we could devote entire Pinnacle newsletters to exploring the reasons why recruiters like Sgro are successful in Top Echelon Network.  Besides, the thought of cupcake and jello has become seriously distracting.

David M. Sgro, CPC“What a great team we make with Dave Sgro.  We get the job orders and he finds the candidates.  Thanks, Dave, for being a great Trading Partner.  Even better, we closed the deal and he got the offer accepted form while we were partcipating in the ‘Top Echelon Networking on the FARM’ event.  The day was not all play!”

What, exactly, do we have to say to convince you to join us for the 2013 Top Echelon Network National Convention?

Yes, we know that:

  • It represents time out of the office.
  • It costs money (although I will add that portions or all of it might be tax-deductible, so consult your accountant for more information).
  • Florida is such a lousy place to visit . . . what, are you kidding? That’s a joke!

When you attend a Network convention, you meet other recruiters, and when you meet other recruiters, you form Trading Partners relationships and friendships, and when you form Trading Partner relationships and friendships, you not only make more placements—but you also enjoy celebrating those placements!

Just like these Network recruiters are doing . . .

Trey Cameron“GREAT local candidate from Trey Cameron . . . again!  This placement moved fast.  An offer before the candidate left the interview—I sure hope this was fast enough for Trey to send us more chocolate!  Looking forward to seeing Trey in Florida and celebrating the placements that we’ve had over the last year.”

The National Convention (our 25th anniversary convention) is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, through Saturday, April 27, at the TradeWinds Resort Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida.

So we’re talking about warm weather and sandy beaches.  And as you can see by the comments above, these two recruiters will be at the convention, they’ve made eight split placements together, and they celebrate making those placements with copious amounts of chocolate.

Warm weather, beaches, eight placements, and chocolate . . . oh, and a possible tax write-off for business expenses.  How can those NOT be among your favorite things?

There’s still time to sign up for the National Convention before the end of Regular Registration.  For all you know, the first step in building a lucrative new source of business for your recruiting firm is attending this event . . . so don’t miss that step.

Register for the Convention! Yes, You! Do It Now!
