THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS: Technology is great . . . but you can’t use it to replace old-school networking. split placementsBuilding relationships is the cornerstone of business success, but it would be a mistake to dismiss the benefits of embracing technological tools. The good news is that you don’t have to choose one or the other: you can have the best of both worlds!  (Just like the recruiters in this week’s installment of “‘Comments’ and Compliments.”) Two of the recruiters below have used both a great technological tool (a Hiring Hook recruitment website design) and traditional relationship-building networking efforts to make a placement together they probably would NOT have made otherwise. Don’t choose between technology and relationships.  Use both to make more placements!

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Everybody is looking for the right candidates.  Not just companies, either . . . recruiters are having a hard time finding these candidates, too.

split placementsHowever, Top Echelon Network recruiters are finding the right candidates through their Trading Partners!  As evidenced by the comments below, sometimes the fit isn’t an “automatic” one, but because of the talent and the experience of the recruiters involved, it becomes a great fit.

Companies want to find the best possible candidates for their open positions, and so do the recruiters who work for them.  More and more, Network recruiters are discovering that their Trading Partners have those candidates.

So, if you have the right candidate, then it’s a split placement for you!

— — —

Top Echelon Network recruiter Nick Stoia“Great effort on the part of Joe Miglizzi in identifying a match for this challenging position to fill!  The candidate did not look like an automatic fit, but Joe had the understanding of the candidate and role to see [the] potential of a match due to what looked like transferrable skills.  He was right!”

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Top Echelon Members make their first split placement with another Network recruiter all of the time, and below are 3 GREAT examples of that!

Recruiter CommentsThese split placements include recruiters who have been in the Network for a considerable amount of time and who have enjoyed quite a bit of success in Top Echelon.  However, that didn’t stop them from branching out, finding more Trading Partners, and making split placements with them.

When you read the comments below, you’ll see why these are such GREAT examples:

  • The recruiters presented quality candidates.
  • The recruiters were creative when submitting candidates.
  • The recruiters were willing to take a job order outside of their niche.
  • The recruiters approached the placement process as a team.
  • The recruiters worked with each other instead of against each other.

We could go on and on, but you get the point.  This is how split placements are made in Top Echelon Network.  This is the blueprint for success, and all anybody has to do is follow it.

Trey Cameron has made 179 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His agency, the Cameron Craig Group, has been a Preferred Member since 2003.

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Yes, the 2013 Fall Conference was a big success, and yes, we’re going to focus on it in this issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog!

That’s because the recruiters who attended made split placements with each other before, during, and after the conference—as evidenced by the recruiters and placements highlighted below.

These recruiters are regular attendees of Network events like the Fall Conference and National Convention, and doing so has led to a series of placements.  Not just one here or two there, but a series.

They make placements, they spend time with each other, they build and strengthen their relationships, and then they make more placements.

They say sometimes less is more (whoever the heck “they” are).  But with a combined total of 14 split placements represented below, in this case, MORE is more!

Recruiter CommentsFrank Laux has made 1 placement as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His agency, Strategic Search Partners, has been a Preferred Member of the recruiter network since April of this year.

Carey Towe has made 21 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His agency, Southern Recruiters, has been a Preferred Member since 2001.

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Last week, we commended David M. Sgro of True North Consultants, Inc. for being a model Network recruiter in Top Echelon . . . and now we’re commending Veronica Snyder of Career Professionals, Inc.!

That’s because like Sgro, Snyder does all of the things that a recruiter needs to do to be successful in the Network.  Those things include the following:

  1. Posting jobs to the Network on a consistent basis
  2. Embracing the Network Pillar of Quality, especially as it pertains to another Pillar, that of Communication
  3. Attending Network events like the National Convention and Fall Conference

Snyder has made 54 Network placements since becoming a Preferred Member recruiter, including five in 2012 and eight already this year.  With three months still remaining in 2013, she certainly has the chance to hit double digits in placements before the year draws to a close.

Not only that, but one of the split placements highlighted below is the first Top Echelon placement for a Network recruiter.  So congratulations to both Snyder and Frank Laux, who’s celebrating his first TE split!

Jim Strickland has made 99 placements as one of the Top Echelon Network’s top recruiters.  His agency, BioSource International, has been a Preferred Member since 2003.

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Although we’ll be making the point more vividly in our next blog post, Top Echelon Network recruiters are using their Hiring Hook website make split placements.  Three of the recruiters listed below use their websites extensively in their efforts to make splits.  Those recruiters and the number of Top Echelon Network splits they’ve made this year are as follows:

  1. Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group—36 split placements
  2. Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search—23 split placements
  3. Jim Strickland of BioSource International—8 split placements

The evidence is stacking up all over in the form of placement checks.  If you’d like more information about what a Hiring Hook website could do for your Top Echelon Network Membership, give us a call at 330.455.1433.

Somebody will probably make another website split in the time it takes to dial the phone.

THE SPLIT RECRUITERS:

Maria Hemminger has made 78 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Her agency, MJ Recruiters, LLC, has been a Preferred Member since 2005.

Recruiter CommentsDavid M. Sgro has made 58 placements as one of the Top Echelon Network top recruiters.  His agency, True North Consultants, Inc., has been a Preferred Member since 2006.

Angela Marasco has made 84 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Her agency, A. Marasco Recruiting, LLC, has been a Preferred Member since 2007.

Nick Stoia has made 29 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His agency, ASAP Search & Recruiters, has been a Preferred Member since 1999.

Eric V. Stearley, CPC has made 20 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His agency, Eric V. Stearley, CPC & Associates, has been a Preferred Member since 2007.

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

While in the midst of recognizing and praising numerous Network recruiters for their success in Top Echelon, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention this recruiter: David M. Sgro, CPC of True North Consultants, Inc.

Sgro is in his second stint as a Preferred Member, and since re-joining the Network in 2006, he’s made 55 placements (he made three during his first Network stint).  That’s an average of nearly eight placements per year.

If every recruiter in Top Echelon Network make an average of nearly eight placements per year, we’d hold a ticker tape parade.  (At the very least, we’d have a “cupcake and jello party” . . . c’mon, those are fun.)

Anyway, there are three main reasons why Sgro is a model Network recruiter:

1. He’s “split minded.”  That means split placements are foremost in his mind.  He looks for opportunities to make split placements.  He doesn’t sit back and wait for splits to “come to him.”

2. He networks relentlessly.  Sgro attends nearly every National Convention and Fall Conference.  He also attends numerous Regional Core Group meetings in Ohio and events such as “Top Echelon Networking on the FARM” (referenced below).  The results speak for themselves.

3. He believes in the pillar of Trust.  There are Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network.  The most important of them is Trust, and Sgro has built iron-clad Trading Partner relationships (Maria Hemminger, Bob Small, Angela Marasco) that are typified by this Pillar.

Are there more than three reasons?  Probably, but we could devote entire Pinnacle newsletters to exploring the reasons why recruiters like Sgro are successful in Top Echelon Network.  Besides, the thought of cupcake and jello has become seriously distracting.

— — —

David M. Sgro, CPC“What a great team we make with Dave Sgro.  We get the job orders and he finds the candidates.  Thanks, Dave, for being a great Trading Partner.  Even better, we closed the deal and he got the offer accepted form while we were partcipating in the ‘Top Echelon Networking on the FARM’ event.  The day was not all play!”

THE SPLIT RECRUITERS: Kerry Boehner has made 7 placements as one of Top Echelon Network’s top recruiters.  Her agency, KOB Solutions, Inc. has been a Preferred Member since 2010. Recruiter CommentsJudy Kaplan has made 79 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Her agency, Prof’l Recruiting Consultants, has been a Preferred Member since 1992. Maria Hemminger has made 78 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Her agency, MJ Recruiters, LLC has been a Preferred Member since 2005. Chris Ramsay, CPC has made 40 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  Her agency, Corporate Resources, LLC, has been a Preferred Member since 1992. THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS: Nothing makes a compelling case like hard evidence . . . so here’s your hard evidence: two split placements that are the result of recruiters attending Top Echelon Network conferences and meeting one another.  One conference was over eight years ago, and the other was this past spring.  However, the result is the same: placement, placement, placement! Of course, we’re also talking about a powerhouse group of female recruiters, a quartet that has combined to make over 200 Network placements.  Not only that, but two of their firms have been Preferred Member agencies for over 20 years.  All of this is a testament to both their success in the Network and their longevity in the industry. And that success has been predicated, at least in part, on attending conferences and networking with other recruiters!  (There’s something to be said for women’s intuition.) So—what are you waiting for?  Register for the 2013 Fall Conference!

Alex Roberts has made 3 placements as a Top Echelon Network recruiter.  His agency, Joseph Michaels International, has been a Preferred Member since 2012.

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Top Echelon Network is about more than split placements (although it IS a split placement network).  It’s also about forging relationships that can turn into long-term friendships . . . just like the one we’re highlighting between Larry Radzely and Jim Strickland.  Sure, these two Network recruiters have made 62 and 98 placements, respectively, during their tenures in Top Echelon, but as you can see by the recruiter comments below, they’re also good friends.  Their relationship and friendship came first and then, when they finally made their first split placement together, their friendship made the placement that much better.

Network Recruiter Jim StricklandNetwork Recruiter Larry Radzely“Jim and I have been communicating regularly for years.  He always finds qualified people for our positions, but in the end the candidates seem to wind up in second place.  This is the first split between our agencies, and I personally want to thank Jim for his friendship and assistance over the years.”

THE SPLIT PLACEMENTS:

Sean Napoles is one of the most successful split recruiters in the history of Top Echelon Network.  Over $1 million cash-in and 183 placements are certainly a testament to that.  However, a further indication of his success is his desire to keep making split placements with recruiters he’s never made split placements with before . . . like the placement listed below.  It doesn’t matter how many placements you’ve made in the Network.  You can ALWAYS make a split with a new recruiter.
