There are many formulas for the success within Top Echelon Network, and of course, that success is ultimately measured in placements, specifically split placements.

'Comments' and ComplimentsWell, we have yet another formula in this issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, and that formula deals with what candidates recruiters (exporters) can do to ensure greater levels of Network success.  The formula in question is illustrated perfectly in this week’s installment of “‘Comments’ and Compliments.”

That’s because this installment features two recruiters who compliment their Trading Partners for properly screening and qualifying their candidates before presenting them for consideration.  The time that the candidate recruiters took up front to do so moved the process forward more quickly and resulted in a placement!  So, that means:

Screen and Qualify the Candidate = Make the Placement

It’s a tried-and-true formula that, as you can see, continues to work and work well for Preferred Member recruiters.

We’ll be publishing more “formulas for success” in future issues of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, but in the meantime, if you’d like to compliment one of your Trading Partners for a recent split placement, send your comments to marketing@topechelon.com.

Pinnacle anniversary celebration

It’s here!  The Pinnacle that you’ve all been waiting for!

Actually, that’s a bit of a misnomer, since you have to wait for EVERY Pinnacle newsletter to arrive in your email’s inbox.  However, there’s something just a little different about this particular issue.

Pinnacle NewsletterThe difference lies in the fact that The Pinnacle is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week!

That’s right, the very first Pinnacle newsletter was sent to Preferred Member recruiters by Top Echelon Network founder Mike Kappel on March 5, 1988.

It goes without saying that the first Pinnacle was sent via traditional snail mail, a hardcopy version printed on yellow paper.  (We still have the first copies of the newsletter in the Top Echelon offices.  They’re not yellow because they’re old . . . the paper was originally yellow.)

Eventually, as technology progressed, The Pinnacle was delivered electronically via email as a PDF document.  Three years ago, the newsletter underwent a third change when it was compiled in a blog on the Top Echelon website and once again delivered electronically.  That’s the way you’re reading it at the moment.

So—if a Pinnacle newsletter has been published every single week since March 5, 1988, that means:

52 newsletters every year x 25 years = 1,300 newsletters!

Is this issue of The Pinnacle the 1,300th issue?  Well, I could pour over countless documents, cross-check numerous sources, and count on my fingers and toes to find out for sure . . . or I could just nod and say, “Sure, it’s the 1,300th issue.”

Sure, it’s the 1,300th issue.

However, let’s not focus on fun bits of trivia like that.  Instead, let’s focus on the fact that the reason there’s been a newsletter published every week for the past 25 years is the hard work and commitment of YOU, the Preferred Member recruiters of Top Echelon Network.

You’ve invested in this Network, you believe in this Network, and you’ve been the driving force behind its success.  So from everybody here at Top Echelon, we’d like to thank you for all that you do as Preferred Members.

Here’s to another 25 years!  And another 1,300 Pinnacle newsletters!  (Wait, what am I saying?)

Placements are made in Top Echelon Network every week—almost every day, as a matter of fact.  Not only that, but these placements are made in all major industries!

While it’s true that Preferred Member recruiters in the Network make more placements in Manufacturing, Engineering, and Information Technology, they make placements in other industries, as well.  This week’s list of split placements is evidence of that.

Let’s take a look at the positions that were filled recently by Top Echelon Network recruiters:

  • Recent PlacementsBranch Manager-Industrial Distribution
  • Civil Engineer/Bridge Group Leader
  • VP of Finance
  • MS Server Administrator
  • Product Manager
  • SAP Basis Administrator
  • Chemical Engineer
  • Senior Statistical Analyst

Are you looking to fill positions just like these?  Do you work with candidates who have these titles?  Then YOU can make placements in Top Echelon Network.  But first, you have to share your job orders and candidates, so do that today and increase your chances of earning more money!

If you have questions about how you can make placements in Top Echelon Network, contact Membership Development Coordinator Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS at (330) 455-1433, Ext. 156.

When Preferred Members make split placements with other recruiters in Top Echelon Network, they don’t just want to compliment them.  They want to thank them, as well!

'Comments' and ComplimentsWhy do they have such an “attitude of gratitude”?  The reason: because they probably wouldn’t have made the placement at all without the help of the other recruiter.  Sure, there’s an outside chance they might have filled the position, but they know that in reality, the chance was slim.

In this week’s installment of “Comments and Compliments,” not only do we have two split placements that generated an abundance of gratitude, but we also have two that represent the first Network split that these recruiters made with one another.

It’s almost like a “bonus on top of a bonus, wrapped in a bonus” . . . and that’s certainly something for which to be thankful!

Remember, if you’d like to compliment—and thank—one of your Trading Partners for a recent split placement, send your comments to marketing@topechelon.com, and they could appear in a future issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

Megan Schimmoeller“Thanks, Megan, for such a GREAT candidate!  Our client had interviewed a number of new grads for their Chemical Engineering position, but with little success.  [This candidate] will be put on a fast track with our client.  They were so impressed with her.  Also, I think that this may be the first time I have placed a new grad . . . so thank you!”

Top Echelon Network Preferred Member recruiter Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group “disappeared” for a while . . . but now he’s back.

Top-Producing RecruitersMore often than not, Cameron won The Recruiter of the Month Award last year.  Recently, though, other Preferred Members have laid claim to that honor.  Until now, that is.  That’s because Cameron is the Recruiter of the Month for February of 2013.

Not only that, but Cameron was also part of the Largest Split Placement Fee of the Month.  That placement (and its corresponding fee) was largely responsible for pushing Cameron to the top of the Network heap in February.

Cameron, who was the Recruiter of the Year in the Network in 2012, is off to another fast start in 2013.  Can he win that award for the third straight year?  Stay tuned to find out!

As always, we recognize recruiters for both monthly and quarterly performance in four categories—“Recruiter of the Month,” “Recruiter of the Quarter,” “Highest Split Placement Fee of the Month,” and “Highest Split Placement Fee of the Quarter.”

For more information about the placements and cash-in totals associated with these awards, please login to the Members’ Area and view the profiles and placement details of the recruiters involved.

Trey CameronRecruiter of the Month
Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group

Cameron was one of a handful of recruiters who made two split placements in the Network during the month of February.  However, his overall cash-in total for those two placements was larger than anybody else’s total, earning him first place.

Other Preferred Member recruiters who made two placements during the month were Maria Hemminger of MJ Recruiters, LLC; David Wick of Career Center of Cincinnati, Inc.; Jeff Ploeger of Ploeger Recruiting Services; and Suzanne Griffith, CPC of J S Griffith & Associates.

Pamela Ratz Deville, CPC of Managed Medicaid Servicves and Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group

The position for this placement was a VP of Finance.  Ratz DeVille was the job order recruiter, and Cameron was the candidate recruiter.  The action that stimulated this split placement was listed as “The job seeker or client was found through my Hiring Hook website.”

Our criteria for these awards:

Top Echelon Network is a split placement network.  As such, we place an emphasis on split placements, and that emphasis constitutes a large part of our criteria for these awards.  We determine the monthly and quarterly award winners based upon two things, which are listed below in order of importance:

1.) The number of split placements made
2.) The amount of cash-in dollars earned as a result of those split placements

Matt DeutschBelieve it or not, two months of the year are already gone!  What the heck happened to them?  I have no idea, but I do know this: Early Bird Registration for the 2013 Top Echelon Network National Convention ends on Friday, March 1!

What is that important?  It’s important because you can save money while signing up for our 25th anniversary event.  The price of Early Bird Registration is just $495 per person.

It’s also important because attending events like the National Convention is one of the best ways to enjoy more success as a Preferred Member recruiter in Top Echelon Network.  I know, I know, we sound like a broken record, don’t we?

Well, there’s a reason for that: because we’re telling the truth!

We have case study after case study and story after story illustrating the value that attending these events can bring you, your recruiting desk, and your recruiting firm.  We’re not making this stuff up.  We’re just reporting it, and below are a few examples:

Anjela Mangrum makes her first Network split placement with Joe Noto after meeting at the 2012 Fall Conference!

Top Producers Maria Hemminger and Suzanne Griffith also make a split placement after the 2012 Fall Conference!

Cindy Szajkovics and Peter Oettinger make a split placement after meeting at the 2012 National Convention!

We want YOU to be our next case study.  We want to use the story of one of YOUR placements to help convince other Preferred Members of the value that attending our conventions can provide.

But we need YOU to attend the National Convention first!  Attend the convention, meet other recruiters, find Trading Partners, and make placements that you wouldn’t have made otherwise.

And yes—that’s absolutely as much fun as it sounds.  We’ll see you in Florida!

Register for the 2013 National Convention!

With this week’s installment of split placements, we’re going to prove that you don’t have to make 20 placements a year in Top Echelon to be considered a Network success.

That’s because this week, we’re highlighting long-time Preferred Member Lloyd Shoemaker of Miami Professional Search, LLC, who has two placements listed in this issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

Recent PlacementsShoemaker, a staunch advocate of the benefits of networking, has been unerringly consistent during his time in Top Echelon.  As an example, he made two split placements in 2009, two in 2010, two in 2011, and two in 2012.

Let’s do some math, shall we?  If dues in Top Echelon Network are $125 per month (and they are), then Shoemaker pays $1,500 per year to be a Preferred Member.

However, if he makes two split placements each year, and his share of each fee is approximately $7,500 (the average AFTER Top Echelon takes its 6% brokerage fee), then he earns $15,000 each year from his Network Membership.

Invest $1,500 . . . earn $15,000 on that investment.  That’s a 10-fold increase.

Sounds like a success to me.

If you have questions about how you can make two (or more) placements each and every year in Top Echelon Network, contact Membership Development Coordinator Drea Codispoti at (330) 455-1433, Ext. 156.

Matt DeutschSure, the 2013 Top Echelon Network National Convention isn’t for another couple of months.  However, this is our 25th anniversary celebration!

With that in mind, we have to get a head start on the festivities.  We must generate “buzz,” so to speak, so that this will be one of our best networking events ever.  (No pressure, Deutsch . . . no pressure.)

Considering that Top Echelon Network is on Twitter (@tenetwork), we’ve had an official hashtag for our past few conferences and conventions.  This will once again be the case for the 2013 National Convention.

A hashtag is a tool within Twitter used to aggregate the conversation surrounding a topic, or in this case, an event.  You create a hashtag by combining the pound sign (#) with a word, acronym, or phrase.

As an example, below is the official hashtag of the 2013 National Convention:

#TENAT13

Include this hashtag with every one of your tweets regarding the National Convention.  Keep in mind that you don’t have to physically be at the convention to do it.  You can use the hashtag even while tweeting from anyplace at anytime about any aspect of the event.

When I tweet this blog post, I’ll insert #TENAT13 at the end of my tweet.  Later, if you conduct a search in Twitter using #TENAT13, Twitter will find and present all of the tweets that include that hashtag.

Oh, and one last thing: sign up for the National Convention now, before Early Bird Registration ends!

When it comes to making placements in Top Echelon Network, “communication” is king!

Communication, incidentally, is one of the Four Pillars of the Network.  It’s also the reason my often cited by recruiters when they submit their Completed Placement forms.

Recent PlacementsTake, for instance, this week’s completed placements, which are listed below.  The “action causing split placement” was the same for all of them: “Regular communication with another Top Echelon Network Preferred Member recruiter.”

Yes, Quality is important.  Yes, Trust is important . . . and so is Active Participation.  But if you want a starting point in Top Echelon, a place to begin your quest for greater Network success, then that starting point is Communication.

Communication “gets the ball rolling,” so to speak.  It makes things happen, and as you can see, it makes placements happen.

So pick up the phone!  Call another recruiter!  Talk shop and share job orders and candidates!  That’s what these recruiters did, and that’s why they recently cashed placement checks.

Almost every week in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, we publish recent split placements between Top Echelon Network Preferred Member recruiters.

Recent PlacementsAlong with those split placements, we include the reasons those placements were made, which we list as the “action causing split placement.”  As you may know, these reasons are varied.

In fact, below are the three “actions” causing this week’s split placements:

  • The job order or candidate was found by searching Top Echelon’s split databases.
  • Regular communication with another Top Echelon Network Preferred Member recruiter

All of these things were responsible for recent split placements in Top Echelon Network.  So what does this ultimately mean?

It means you should search the split databases, communicate with other Network recruiters, and get a Hiring Hook website!

After all, if it worked for these recruiters, it can work for you, too.  And then your picture will run in this feature, along with the details of your most recent Network placement.  Everybody wins!
