There are some recruiters who, prior to joining Top Echelon Network, believe that other recruiters who work in their niche are competitors. Once they join, though, they come to welcome those same recruiters as collaborators and split recruiting partners.

Errol Neider of EGN Technical Resources

Errol Neider

Before joining the Network, Errol Neider of EGN Technical Resources also had some mistaken beliefs about how a recruiting network operated and what joining would mean for his agency’s bottom line.

“I had no idea what a split was or how it worked,” he said. “I was fearful that splits would cut my income in half. In reality, my income has increased during my time with TE.”

Errol made his first split in October of 2020, and he hasn’t slowed down since. During the past two years, he’s made 23 more split placements. Overall, he’s generated nearly $160K in extra revenue as a result of his 24 Network deals.

Like many before him who were apprehensive about joining Top Echelon Network, Errol soon found that his fears were unfounded. Instead, he discovered a way to better leverage his resources and enjoy more success within the recruiting profession.

According to Errol, below are four big takeaways that have been instrumental to his success as a member of Top Echelon Network:

#1—Trust the process.

As he indicated, Errol didn’t know anything about split placements or how recruiting networks operated prior to joining. While that was not a prerequisite for experiencing success, he indicated that having faith in the Top Echelon system is.

“I had to trust the process,” said Errol. “It works if you put the effort in and really connect with other recruiters. In the end, it’s about relationships, as all sustainable business is.”

#2—Communication and participation are everything.

Communication and Active Participation are two of The Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network. (The other two, of course, are Quality and Trust.) Errol pointed to his desire and willingness to communicate with other recruiters as integral to his success.

“I try to communicate well,” he said. “This is a work in progress, and I hope I’m getting better each day.”

Along the same vein, Errol has found that it’s easier to communicate and build relationships with other members when you meet them face-to-face at Top Echelon’s recruiter networking events. He also recommended participating in the monthly Virtual Core Groups, especially if you’re a newer Network member.

“Go to the monthly [Virtual] Core Group meetings and the in-person conferences,” he said. “Network is in the name, so let’s network.”

#3—He’s maximized his time and resources.

One of the reasons that Errol applied for Network membership is because he was looking for help with his search assignments.

“I couldn’t pretend to find the best jobs and source the best candidates all at the same time,” he said. “No one can. So instead of hiring, I outsourced to a network of other recruiters to help, those who best knew how to advertise, locate passive candidates, and scour the market for current talent.”

Not only has Errol maximized his resources as a member of Top Echelon Network, but he also has greater peace of mind about his search assignments.

“I have peace knowing that my jobs are being worked on while I’m not spending all day and night doing it myself,” he said.

#4—He’s grown his recruiting business.

According to Errol, his perspective on split placements has changed since he joined the Network. He now believes fully in the value that a split fee recruiting network can offer to a professional recruiter or search consultant.

“Why would I not share in the recruiting fees for the tradeoff of developing business relationships with other recruiters and giving my clients the best service through a network of recruiters who are working their job?” he said.

In addition, Errol and his business partner can now devote some of the time they’ve saved on search assignments to address other areas of their agency that need attention.

“My business partner Rob and I can focus more on strategic business development,” he said.

We at Top Echelon commend Errol for not allowing any preconceived notions about split placements to stop him from applying for membership, and we also congratulate him for the consistency he’s shown and the success he’s enjoyed since becoming a member!

After a week hiatus, we’re back with the placements that recruiters have made recently in Top Echelon Network.

And it was worth the wait, because we have a total of 23 split placements, some with hefty fees attached!

At the top of the heap is a $50K fee, which Steve Eller of Crabtree & Eller, LLC and Larry Gallin of Gallin Associates generated by placing a Managing Director of Sales at 20%.

In addition, Carol McBride of RCC Group, LLC and Michael Stuck of Gables Search Group earned a $43,750 fee by placing a Senior Manager – Real Estate Counsel at 25%.

Michael was one of two Network members who made six Top Echelon splits during the recent two-week period. The other member was Trey Cameron of Cameron Craig Group.

As a friendly neighborhood reminder, here is the information that we publish with our weekly placements:

  • Names of the split recruiting partners involved (with their profile photos, when available)
  • Job title
  • Overall placement fee (before TE’s 6% brokerage fee, of course)
  • Fee percentage

Please note that the placements listed below reflect deals finalized in Top Echelon Network for the two-week period from October 31 through November 13, 2022.

Remember, if you don’t want information related to your Network placements published in The Pinnacle, please send an email to marketing@topechelon.com to that effect.

Congratulations to everybody below for the split placements they made in Top Echelon Network!

If you’re a newer Network member and you’d like to enjoy more success in our recruiter network, then I encourage you to contact Top Echelon Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS.

You can do so by calling 330.595.1742 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

We’re continuously updating both the Top Echelon recruiting software and our split placement network software. So we’re pleased to announce the following software updates!

1. Quick Notes

A new button within the Timeline gives you the ability to document Quick Notes that are date, time, and user stamped for tracking and displaying in the corresponding record’s history.

2. Set Default Font for Outgoing Emails

new settings option on the General Users Setting page allows you to choose your preferred font family and size for emails sent from Top Echelon Software, eliminating the need to manually change it with each message.

3. Record Header Redesign

A redesign to People, Company, and Job Datasheet headers that brings more attention to important record information improves the overall user interface and makes better use of the space.

4. Calendar Invite System Events

We’ve added some new system events within the Timeline so that you can now see when a Calendar Invite was initially sent or updated.

5. ‘Has Work Phone’ Advanced Search Field

We’ve added a new Advanced Search option that allows for further filtering of your results list based on the existence (or lack) of a work phone number.

Registration for Top Echelon Connect 2023 is now officially live!

Yes, we’ve released registration for this event earlier than we’ve released it for the National Convention in the past. And why might that be?

First, the new name of our in-person recruiter networking events is Top Echelon Connect. And second, we’ve released registration this early because we’re very excited about the event and we want to allow as much time as possible for Top Echelon Network members to plan for it.

With all of this in mind, below is some important logistical information regarding Connect 2023:

  • Dates: Thursday, March 9, and Friday, March 10
  • Location: Harrah’s New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana
  • Room Rate: $195 per night
  • Main speakers: Rob Mosley, Stacy Napoles, Greg Doersching, and Todd Bossler

This is a star-studded lineup of speakers, one of the most impressive lineups that we’ve had for one of our events. In the past, we’ve had one or maybe two speakers for our events, but for Top Echelon Connect 2023, we have three.

(And of course, our very own Todd Bossler will add his unique blend of technical expertise and humor to the mix. Todd is consistently one of the top-rated speakers at the National Association of Personnel Services Conference every year.)

In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be revealing more information about Connect 2023 in the pages of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

In the meantime, if you register now, you’ll pay only $495 per person. As you might expect, the price will rise for the Regular Registration and Late Registration periods.

(Note: Just so you know, the Early Bird Registration period runs from now until February 11. After that date, Regular Registration will begin.)

As we’ve done for our past several events, we have a special website dedicated to Top Echelon Connect 2023. The URL for that website is conventions.topechelon.com. Or you can click the link below to get started:

Click HERE to register for Top Echelon Connect 2023!

We want to help make 2023 a great year for you and your agency. So register now and join us in New Orleans!

If you have any questions about registration (or about any other aspects of this event), please contact me by calling 330.595.1742 or via email at drea@topechelon.com. Or you can contact Network Success Specialist River Kale via email at rkale@topechelon.com.

In our ongoing efforts to help our customers be as successful as possible, we at Top Echelon are pleased to announce the release of our all-new Help Center!

There are two main parts to the new Help Center, clearly marked with links at the top of the main page:

  1. Top Echelon Recruiting Software
  2. Top Echelon Network

While most recruiters who are members of Top Echelon’s recruiting network also use Top Echelon’s recruiting software (formerly called Big Biller), not every Network member does. This is one of the reasons why we have separated the Help Center topics regarding these two products/services.

The new Help Center offers a more robust search functionality, so that you can find the answers to your questions more quickly. As you can see, the search bar is presented front at center at the top of the Help Center’s main page.

The main page also contains tile buttons for quick access regarding both Top Echelon Recruiting Software and Top Echelon Network. Each tile lists a subject heading and the number of articles in the Help Center that relate to the subject.

When you click on the Top Echelon Network link at the bottom of the Help Center’s main page, you’ll be presented with the most popular articles regarding Network membership. We’ve grouped these articles as follows:

  • Getting Started with the Top Echelon Network
  • Searching Network Jobs
  • Network Recruiter Alerts
  • Network Candidates Overview
  • Setting Permissions for Managing Your TEN Jobs Feed
  • Working Network Jobs
  • Opting Your Firm’s Resumes into the Network Candidates Database
  • Network Discussion Forum
  • TEN Jobs Feed
  • Searching Network Recruiters

You can also view and access the categories in the left sidebar of the main Top Echelon Network page. The categories consist of FAQs, Settings, Sharing Candidates, and Sharing Jobs.

Click HERE to visit our new Help Center!

We hope that our new Help Center will help you leverage the power of both your Network membership and our recruiting software so that you can save time and money and also make more placements.

As always, we’re not successful unless YOU are, and that’s why we’re always striving to make the products, services, and support that we offer the best they can possibly be!

If you have any questions about the new Help Center, please send an email to support@topechelon.com.
