There’s only one thing better than teamwork: recruiter teamwork! Why? Because recruiter teamwork results in a placement. Which results in a placement fee. Which results in whatever the heck you want.

This week’s installment of “The Power of the Network” deals specifically with teamwork. As you might imagine, that teamwork involves two members of Top Echelon’s recruiting network. Those two members are Ed Keil, CPC of Reliance Recruiting and Paul Vogrinic of Vogrinic & Short.

Recruiter teamwork: Form of . . . a placement!

As you can see by the comments that Ed submitted below, Paul was a team player all through their placement together. In fact, Ed praised Paul for the following:

  • Stellar candidate sourcing (always a fantastic first step)
  • Presenting that candidate with a high degree of quality
  • Answering any and all questions Ed had about the candidate in a timely fashion

Recruiting is NOT an easy profession. (If it was, then everybody would do it!) The recruitment process can become tedious and difficult. Having some help during that process can be a tremendous boost. It might even be the boost you need to fill the position and make the placement.

(Editor’s note: This is the first Network split placement that Ed and Paul have made together in Top Echelon.)

Larry Ploscowe of EXEK Recruiters, Ltd. has made three split placements in Top Echelon Network so far in 2017. And it just so happens that all three of them are among the top fees for the second quarter!

In fact, Larry has three of the top four fees. So far as I know, that’s the first time that’s ever happened. (At least since we’ve been tracking these things.)

Not only was Larry part of the Largest Split Fee of the Quarter, but he was also part of the third largest and fourth largest. Below are the fees associated with those three placements:

  • $66,000
  • $45,925
  • $43,750

Those three placements brought Larry closer to two big milestones. He’s now made 98 placements in the Network. Also, his career cash-in total stands at $935,757. So very soon, Larry will hit 100 placements and $1 million!

MORE great quarter achievements

Believe it or not, Larry was not the only recruiter to show up twice on the list. That’s because he made two of his splits with Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search. In addition, Carolyn Barcus of Barcus Associates and Mary Morris of Big Haystack had a pair of placements on the list. Both of the fees for those placements were over $40,000!

Just about any other time, Carolyn and Mary would be the headliners. However, Larry stole their thunder (and Steve’s) with three huge placement fees. But as you can see below, everybody on this list is a winner. That’s because you can make a lot of money in a split fee recruiting network.

Just ask Larry Ploscowe. His cash-in total for those three placements was $73,167.

Congratulations to Larry, Steve, Carolyn, and Mary! And congratulations to everybody who made placements in Top Echelon’s recruiting network during the second quarter!

Last week, we discussed how difficult it is to recruit passive candidates. This week, we’re moving our attention to clients!

Once again, we enlisted the help of Top Echelon’s split network members. And once again, we posted not one, but two poll questions to gather our information.

Cue the music . . .

What is the MOST difficult part of dealing with clients?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters that selected each one:

  • Getting job orders — 11.6%
  • Getting feedback — 17.0%
  • Convincing them to act with urgency — 67.9%
  • Negotiating the offer stage — 0.9%
  • Collecting the fee — 0.0%
  • Some other thing — 2.7%

And then on the heels of that question, we asked THIS one:

What is the LEAST difficult part of dealing with clients?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters that selected each one:

  • Getting job orders — 22.5%
  • Getting feedback — 3.8%
  • Convincing them to act with urgency — 13.8%
  • Negotiating the offer stage — 20.0%
  • Collecting the fee — 35.0%
  • Some other thing — 5.0%

Difficult is in the eye of the beholder

Okay, we have a clear-cut winner this week. (Or loser . . . depending upon how you look at it.) Over two-thirds of poll participants (67.9%) consider convincing clients to act with urgency as the most troublesome part of dealing with them.

“Getting feedback” was a distant second at 17%, while “getting job orders” was third at 11.6%. Those three answers pretty much summed up the results of the first poll.

So what is the least difficult part of dealing with clients? Believe it or not “collecting the fee” at 35%. And in second place? “Getting job orders” at 22.5%.

Not only that, but NOT a single recruiter in the first poll identified “collecting the fee” as being most difficult.

Let’s get this straight. The two LEAST difficult parts of dealing with candidates right now are getting job orders and collecting the fee? Holy cow, it’s a good time to be a recruiter!

“Negotiating the offer stage” also garnered 20% of the least difficult vote. (More good news). Interestingly enough, 13.8% of pollsters tabbed “convincing them to act with urgency” as least difficult.

That means one thing. Those recruiters need to share whatever voodoo they’re using on their clients with the rest of the Network membership!
