Everybody loves a good story. But do you know what recruiters like even more? A great Top Echelon Network story! Why is that? Because there’s a placement fee involved. (If you want to make a good story great, just add a placement fee.)

But first things first: the Recruiter of the Week. That recruiter is Charlie Kowalewski of ChemSource Recruiting, Inc. Charlie has made a flurry of placements this year. In fact, he’s made six TE placements since February. That’s a rate of roughly one per month!

If every recruiter in Top Echelon’s split network made one placement per month, what a wonderful world this would be.

A great attitude = a great Network story

Not only is Charlie the Recruiter of the Week, but he’s also part of a great Network story! Charlie explains that story in more detail below. The story illustrates the power of Top Echelon’s recruiting network, especially when members trust one another.

Even though the candidate was hired for a different role and the client didn’t realize that the candidate was Charlie’s until much later, Charlie still honored the candidate referral.

THAT is what the “spirit of networking” is all about in Top Echelon. And that’s why Charlie deserves recognition for both his recent production and this placement in particular. It’s this kind of attitude that can lead to a LOT of split fee recruiting success.

So congratulations to Charlie for being named Recruiter of the Week! And congratulations to Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group for being part of this great Network story!

“We got lucky on this one, Trey! I submitted this candidate months ago for a different position via my client’s ATS. The client told me this week that they made him an offer on a different role and just now realized he was my candidate. Because the hiring manager wasn’t expecting to pay a fee, they asked for a discount. Since I didn’t have to lift a finger to make this placement, I figured why be greedy? I hope you don’t mind! Kind of like ‘found money’!”

Successfully recruiting passive candidates holds the key to making more placements. But there are many components involved with that process. And there is no “wave a magic wand” component. (Wouldn’t that be nice?)

But what do Network members think of recruiting candidates that are passive? Where is the process easy? Or at the very least, easier? Where is it more difficult?

What’s that? We should conduct a Members’ Area poll? Or perhaps two? Great idea, let’s do it!

What is the MOST difficult part of recruiting passive candidates?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters that selected each one:

  • Finding them — 33.9%
  • Convincing them to consider another opportunity — 39.1%
  • Keeping them engaged during the hiring process — 12.2%
  • Closing them during the offer stage — 11.3%
  • Something else — 3.5%

And then on the heels of that question, we asked THIS one:

What is the LEAST difficult part of recruiting passive candidates?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters that selected each one:

  • Finding them — 33.8%
  • Convincing them to consider another opportunity — 20.8%
  • Keeping them engaged during the hiring process — 22.1%
  • Closing them during the offer stage — 11.7%
  • Something else — 11.7%

Recruiting passive candidates: NOT easy overall

Right off the bat, we have a very interesting result from this poll:

  • According to 33.9% of respondents, finding passive candidates is the MOST difficult part.
  • According to 33.8% of respondents, finding passive candidates is the LEAST difficult part.

One-tenth of a percentage point difference? On two completely different answers? How is that possible? Obviously, some recruiters are more adept at finding passive candidates than others. However, there is one thing that more recruiters agree upon.

That’s because 39.1% of them identified convincing these candidates to consider another opportunity to be the most difficult. On the flip side, though, 20.8% did indicate that’s the least difficult part.

It all begs one question: what is the DEAL?

Once again, it goes to show how unique the recruiting profession is. What is difficult for one recruiter is not difficult for another. That’s because recruiters have different strengths and weaknesses. Despite that, they’re all capable of enjoying success.

With all that being said, recruiting passive candidates is NOT easy overall. It’s just that some parts of the process are less difficult than others. There is rarely “low-hanging” fruit when dealing with top candidates who are gainfully employed.

But based on the results of these polls, the recruiter who can convince a passive candidate to consider another opportunity is “ahead of the curve” in the quest for more placements.

The top TE recruiters for the second quarter are NOT pictured above. Why? Because that’s a stock photo, that’s why.

No, the top TE recruiters for the second quarter are listed below, in descending order. And as per usual, we have plenty to say about these recruiters. What we have to say includes the following:

  • The recruiters combined to bill $787,800 during the second quarter.
  • Five of the 10 recruiters billed at least $50K during the quarter.
  • Eight of the 10 recruiters billed at least $40K during the quarter.

And since we’re already past the halfway point of 2017, I have some other good news, as well. (We love good news here at Top Echelon.) For example:

  • The top 12 recruiters in TE have all billed at least $100K during the past 12 months.
  • The top 22 recruiters in TE have all billed at least $80K during the past 12 months.
  • Placements overall in TE are up 4.3% on a 12-month rolling basis.

Top TE recruiters: could YOU be one?

The bottom line: more placements and more revenue for members of our split fee recruiting network. And we want YOU to get a piece of the action. Actually, we want YOU to become one of the top TE recruiters . . . unless, of course, you already are one. If that’s the case, good job. Keep it up.

Below is the information that we are now including with the announcement of the Recruiter of the Quarter Award (now with even MORE bullet points!):

  • The top ten (10) producers in Top Echelon’s recruiting network for the quarter
  • The number of split placements those recruiters made during the quarter
  • The cash-in dollar amount that the recruiters earned as a result of those placements

Below are the final standings for the Recruiter of the Quarter Award in Top Echelon Network for the second quarter of 2017. Congratulations to all of these recruiters for their accomplishments!

Top Echelon’s split network determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its recruiting awards based upon two criteria, which are listed below in order of importance:

1.) The number of split placements made
2.) The amount of cash-in dollars earned as a result of those split placements

This explains why, when multiple recruiters are tied with the same number of split placements during a given month or quarter, the recruiter with the largest cash-in total for their placements is deemed the winner.

It’s the middle of summer, and things are still hot in Top Echelon’s recruiting network! That’s because another seven search agencies recently became Network members.

And if there’s one thing that current members want, it’s new split fee recruiting partners. That’s because high-quality candidates are in short supply. More new search agencies in TE means more candidates for current members trying to fill job orders.

Welcome these search agencies!

The new agencies listed below work in a variety of industries and niches. Specifically, they specialize in the following areas, among others:

  • Information Technology
  • Engineering
  • Accounting
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Cyber Security

These new search agencies want to engage in split recruiting. That’s why they joined our recruiter network in the first place.

They’re here, they’re ready, and they want to make more placements. They could be making more placements with YOU. So check out the new members listed below and see if one (or more) of them could be a potential trading partner.

Because as hot as things are now, they can always get hotter!
