All hail ye Recruiters of the Month in Top Echelon Network!

A bit dramatic? Perhaps, but hey, we have a flair for it. Anyway, you may have noticed that it’s already November. Halloween is over, Thanksgiving is around the corner and you still haven’t met your billing goals for the year.

Unless you’re one of the Network members on the list below, that is. That’s because they represent the top five recruiters in the Network for October. There was nothing scary about the month for them. Not when you’re generating that much money from split placements.

A lot to hail in October

As you can see, Shree Kumar is on the list. We recently named her the Recruiter of the Week in Top Echelon’s recruiting network. She’s definitely on the rise.

Of course, we have also have perennial top producers like Trey Cameron, Steve Kohn, and Ron Sunshine. But wait, we have a new face in the mix. That would be Mike Loftus, CPC of Beacon Professional Search. Mike has made six placements in his TE career, five of them in 2017. Keep that momentum going, Mike!

So once again: all hail ye Recruiters of the Month in Top Echelon Network! (It is both ceremonial and dramatic.) And congratulations from everybody here at Top Echelon!

Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its split recruiting awards based upon two criteria, which are listed below in order of importance:

1.) The number of split placements made
2.) The amount of “cash-in” dollars earned as a result of those split placements

This explains why, when multiple recruiters are tied with the same number of placements during a given month or quarter, the recruiter with the largest “cash-in” total is deemed the winner.

If you’re looking to make more placements with your Top Echelon recruiter network membership, contact Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

How can you be more successful in Top Echelon’s recruiting network? By learning from those who have already enjoyed success, that’s how! And by virtue of the three split placements highlighted below, we can see that candidates, communication, and collaboration hold the keys to success.

Candidates

It all starts with great candidates. If you don’t have great candidates, then you don’t have placements. The TE members involved in these placements presented stellar candidates to their split recruiting partners. Those partners, in turn, presented the candidates to their clients and then magic happened.

Communication

Effective communication during the hiring process accelerates that process. Things happen more quickly. As we know, “time kills all deals.” That’s why speed is vitally important, regardless of whether it’s a split situation or not. The more Network recruiters communicate with one another, the faster information is conveyed and decisions can be made.

Collaboration

This goes a step beyond communication. This is more than just talking. It’s taking action. It’s an investment of time and energy on the part of the recruiters involved. That investment represents both collaboration and a commitment on their part to the process and to their trading partner. Not only that, but their action also accelerates the process. So that’s like a bonus wrapped in a bonus wrapped in a tortilla and then deep fried. (Or something like that.)

Does that make you hungry, both for an enchilada and also for more success in Top Echelon’s recruiter network? Well, it should!

The bad news: we can’t help you with the enchilada. You’re on your own there. The good news: we CAN help with more success in our Network.

Specifically, Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS can help. You can reach Drea by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

“The team at DTR took the time to learn about bizjobz and my client. They presented a fabulous candidate only after understanding the client’s requirements. This was a 10-month process which got delayed due to the candidate taking another offer, then dealing with immigration and non-compete issues. Finally, the candidate is free to start. This was a total team effort.”

When we posted this poll question, we didn’t think the race would be this close. The race to identify the biggest “turkey” on the desks of Top Echelon recruiting network members, that is.

Since the Thanksgiving Day holiday is this week, we thought asking this question was appropriate. Not only that, but 2017 is almost over. Whoever the biggest turkey has been on your recruiting desk, you’ve probably already determined who that is by now.

So let’s get to the results, shall we? And somebody get us a side of cranberries . . . and maybe a slice of pumpkin pie.

With Thanksgiving next week, which group represents the biggest “turkeys” on your desk this year?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of split network recruiters that selected each one:

  • Candidates — 27.6%
  • Hiring authorities — 28.4%
  • Human Resources personnel — 18.1%
  • Other recruiters — 5.2%
  • Me, I’ve been my own biggest “turkey.” — 20.7%

A whole LOT of turkey in 2017

So as mentioned above, this race was as close as close can be. But who was the overall winner? Hiring authorities! But that group won by less than a percentage point. Hiring authorities garnered 28.4% of the vote, as compared to candidates, who registered 27.6%.

So what does this mean? It means that there was a whole LOT of turkey on recruiting desks in 2017.

But wait, there’s more! (More turkeys, that is.)

A segment of poll participants identified themselves as their own biggest turkey this year. That segment represented 20.7% of the results, which was good enough for third place.

Right behind them were Human Resources personnel. One might think that HR would surely receive top turkey honors, hands down. However, that was NOT the case, although 18.1% of Top Echelon recruiters believe that’s the case.

There’s also a “silver lining” in these poll results. That’s because “other recruiters” came in last at 5.2%. Why is that good news? Because that category contains Top Echelon Network split recruiting partners. We don’t want your trading partners to be turkeys! You can’t make split placements with turkeys!

Seriously, we want your trading partners to help solve problems, not be the problem. We also hope that 2017 has been a great year for you and your agency, both inside and outside of our recruiter network.

And if you’re looking to enjoy more success in TE next year, then we encourage you to contact Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

Okay, now where’s the pumpkin pie? I was NOT kidding about that part.

Pamela Ratz Deville, CPC of the MMS Group makes huge fees in Top Echelon’s recruiting network. In fact, she was part of the largest placement fee in the Network for the month of October.

As you can see below, Pamela shared that honor with Catherine Sousa of Morton Roper Careers. The split placement in question involved a VP of Operations. The fee: $34,200.

So October was about a lot more than just trick-or-treat and candy. And scary movies. And falling leaves. For some recruiters, it was all about rising fees. (Specifically, the collecting of said fees. After all, that’s the really important part.)

Rising fees, if you please

While the size of that fee won an award for Pamela, it’s by no means the biggest fee that she’s shared in TE. In fact, below are some of the other fees she’s scored while in the Network:

  • $46,000
  • $40,500
  • $45,000
  • $41,800

However, membership in Top Echelon’s recruiter network is about more than rising fees. Although they certainly don’t hurt. No, membership in TE is about relationships. It’s about building them, maintaining them, and enjoying them.

The only thing better than making split placements is making them with people you like. And the only thing better than that is making them with people who you consider to be true friends.

That is why I’m now going to shamelessly plug our recruiter networking events. Specifically, I’m going to plug our upcoming 2018 National Convention in Nashville. It’s our 30th anniversary convention, so you can’t miss it!

In the meantime, if you need help with your split recruiting efforts in TE, then contact Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its Network split fee recruiting awards in four distinct categories, which are listed below:

1.) Recruiter of the Month
2.) Largest Split Fee of the Month
3.) Recruiter of the Quarter
4.) Largest Split Fee of the Quarter

We only announce the winners of these awards in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog. We do so usually (but not always) in the issue following the conclusion of each month and/or quarter.

Contract staffing can benefit recruiters in a number of ways. These include steady income, quicker placements, becoming a sole-source provider to clients, etc. But did you know that Top Echelon also rewards you for making contract placements?

Through Top Echelon Contracting’s Frequent Contract Placement (FCP) Program, you can earn up to 3% more in contract placement income. All you have to do is make contract placements. We automatically enroll recruiters who utilize TEC’s recruitment back office services into the program. The best part? You pay nothing to participate!

Making contract placements never tasted so good!

The FCP Program allows recruiters to earn “cash-back points” (dollars) based on the income (commission) they have earned while making contract placements through TEC each calendar year.

Below are the five award categories:

Category Percent Recruiter Income Levels
Diamond 3.0% $100,000+
Platinum 2.5% $80,000 – $99,999
Gold 2.0% $60,000 – $79,999
Silver 1.5% $40,000 – $59,999
Bronze 1.0% $20,000 – $39,999

The FCP Program runs from January 1 through December 31 each year. If you are a Top Echelon Network member (which is NOT required), you will receive your award at the Top Echelon Network National Convention, which is held each spring. If you are not a member or don’t attend the National Convention, we will mail your award to you.

The bottom line: if you are not yet offering contract staffing, you may want to consider the extra income you could earn by doing so. For more information and the official guidelines for the FCP Program, click here.
