Once again, we’re running the Offers Accepted and Completed Placements in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, and we’re pleased to announce that there are more of both in this week’s issue than there’s been so far.  We’re hopeful that is a trend that will continue far into the future.  (We usually don’t like to publish blog posts that are too long, but we’ll make an exception when it comes to split placements.  The more, the merrier.)

Remember, we’re now running the placements in the blog because of your recommendations and feedback.  With that in mind, we encourage you to send us more feedback regarding The Pinnacle.  What else would you like to see?

Now if you want to see the amount of the fees associated with each of these placements, all you have to do is login to the Members’ Area and click on the profiles of the recruiters involved.  The fee totals will be listed along with those placements.

So, here are this week’s Offers Accepted and Completed Placements . . .

Many recruiters have submitted their craziest recruiting story ever—but some have gone so far as to submit more than one crazy recruiting story.  One such recruiter is Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search, who submitted three gems to us via email.  Rather than try to cram them all into one blog post, we’re going to space them out for your enjoyment.

So enjoy . . . and pray this doesn’t happen to you.

Steve Kohn“I had a client who was seeking a National Sales Manager.  They are a timer manufacturer.  The VP said he wants someone who:

  • had 10 years of sales management experience
  • had knowledge of time clock distribution channels
  • was married
  • was in his 30s
  • had children
  • was Italian

I told him that I could only use the first two criteria and that was all I would use.

So, I conducted the search and found that the NSM of their main competitor was available.  He was also 32 years old, married with two children, local, and Italian!

I present the candidate.  Phone interview is great. He goes a face to face interview.  Comes out saying it went great.  I call the VP thinking we’re about to close, and he tells me “John was fantastic, and you did a great job.  It’s too bad we can’t hire him.”

Stupefied, I said “WHY NOT?”

He said “during the conversations we realized that we’re cousins.  I can’t him because he’s a relative.  That would be nepotism.  It’s unethical.”

Remember, there are three ways you can submit your “Craziest Recruiting Story”:

  1. You can email your story to marketing@TopEchelon.com.
  2. You can post the story by including it in the comments section at the end of this blog.
  3. You can give me a call and relay your story to me.

The deadline for submitting your “Craziest Recruiting Story of 2011” is midnight on Saturday, December 31.  We’ll announce the winner during the first part of January in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog and also on “Top Echelon TV.”

Bring on the “Crazy.”  We’re ready for it.

'Comments' and Compliments

At Top Echelon Network, we love to recognize recruiters for their first split placement as a Preferred Member . . . and we love when other recruiters want to recognize Members for the very same reason.  This is especially the case when the other recruiters are the ones who made the split placement with the new Member in the first place.

We again have such an instance in our ever-popular “Comments and Compliments” feature, as we get the chance to highlight a recruiter for making their first split placement in Top Echelon Network.  It doesn’t matter if it’s your first placement, your 50th placementyour 100th placement, or your 200th in the Network—it’s addictive.

So, go ahead.  Make more.  We won’t stop you.  And if you’ve made a split placement with a Trading Partner and would like to compliment them for their efforts, send your comments to marketing@TopEchelon.com.

Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERSFor those of you who plan to attend the upcoming 2011 Fall Conference in Chicago, we have an important announcement:

The Embassy Suites O’Hare/Rosemont is currently SOLD OUT for the dates of the conference.

Those dates are Thursday, October 20, and Friday, October 21.  We had a limited number of rooms blocked at the Embassy Suites, and those rooms are now gone.  We were hopeful that if the Embassy Suites did sell out, it would be after the end of our Early Bird Registration period.  Alas, that is not the case.

So . . . what does this mean?

Well, it means that those of you planning to attend the Fall Conference will have to book a room at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, which is basically located right next to the Embassy Suites O’Hare/Rosemont.  Below are some important points regarding this announcement:

  • The rate for the DoubleTree is $169 per night.  With that in mind, if you have the opportunity to share the cost of a room with another Preferred Member recruiter, we encourage you to do so.
  • We have blocked 10 room nights at the DoubleTree.  However, we expect those to get snatched up quickly, so book your rooms ASAP.
  • Click here to visit the website for the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, where you can take a virtual tour and also book your room.

Remember, Early Bird Registration for the conference is still underway.  During Early Bird, you can register for the Fall Conference at the low price of $199 per person.  (This is still the lowest price we’ve ever offered for a full-blown Fall Conference, even after all these years.  We don’t raise the cost of attending our events, no matter what’s happening in the economy overall.  In fact, we’ve lowered them).

Once again, below is the registration schedule:

Early Bird Registration, from now until Monday, September 12—$199 per person

Regular Registration, from Tuesday, September 13, until Monday, October 10—$229 per person

Late Registration, from Tuesday, October 11, until the start of the conference—$249 per person

There are currently 39 recruiters signed up for the Fall Conference, and we expect many more to register before the end of Early Bird.  So don’t wait any longer—sign up now and do the things you need to do in order to make more money!
