See the people in the photo above? They’re NOT the top TE members for the month of July. They’re a bunch of stock photo actors. They haven’t recruited a day in their lives. So forget about them.

However, the people listed below are recruiters. Not only that, but they also are the top TE members for the month of July.

Top TE members: spreading the wealth

Let’s start with the fact that Trey Cameron made 18 placements during July. That’s nearly a rate of one placement per business day.

In addition, the top TE members for the month combined to bill $281,038. Of course, Trey accounted for much of that total. But remember that for every dollar that Trey billed, one of his split network partners billed the same account. So he is spreading the wealth, literally and figuratively.

Once again, this is proof that there’s plenty of money in a split fee recruiting network. Just because the recruiters are splitting the fee does not mean it’s small money or “peanuts.” And of course, “half a loaf is better than no loaf at all.”

What would you rather have—half a recruiting fee . . . or NO fee?

While you’re thinking about that, congratulations to everybody on the list below and everybody who made split placements last month!

Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its split recruiting awards based upon two criteria, which are listed below in order of importance:

1.) The number of split placements made
2.) The amount of “cash-in” dollars earned as a result of those split placements

This explains why, when multiple recruiters are tied with the same number of placements during a given month or quarter, the recruiter with the largest “cash-in” total is deemed the winner.

If you’re looking to make more placements with your Top Echelon recruiting network membership, contact Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

Top Echelon Network is not a magic money-making machine. (Sorry if that came as a surprise to you.) No, split fee recruiting success requires investing a certain amount of time, energy, and effort.

Here’s the good news: there can be a return on that investment. AND that return can be quite hefty.

Investing with a purpose

Take the split placements highlighted below. Six recruiters were involved in those splits, and all six made an investment. They were investing in their split network trading partners. Here are just some of the good things that happened as a result of those investments:

  • Three placements, obviously
  • A saved placement after it appeared to be falling off
  • A new trading partner relationship
  • The first split placement between two recruiters

Are you going to work with every member of Top Echelon’s recruiting network? No. Are you going to work with every recruiter operating within your industry and/or niche? Probably not. But you can build trading partner relationships with between three and five other members and work with them consistently.

Investing in your Network membership in that fashion can pay off. It can pay off in more placements and more revenue for your agency. The key is to be proactive. Identify other members in your chosen niche. Reach out and contact them. Share hot job orders and candidates.

And if you want help, our Director of Network Operations can help. His name is Drea Codispoti, and you can reach him by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

No, Top Echelon Network is not a magic money-making machine. But you can make more money by using it. Pardon me. I mean investing in it.

A few weeks ago, we announced our all-new Top Echelon Network referral program. As part of the new program, TE members can earn a $130 referral credit for a successful referral. And as we noted, that’s like getting a month of Network membership for free! (Not including any brokerage fees, of course.)

That being said, please congratulate our latest Network referral!

  • Patti Cusack and Artemis Precision Search joined Top Echelon Network on July 24.
  • Current member Brian Haugh of the Chicago Search Group referred Patti and Artemis Precision Search.
  • We credited Chicago Search Group’s July invoice $130!

Initially, we announced that you had to wait two months to receive your referral credit. Well, guess what? We’ve decided to credit the referrer’s account as soon as the agency they refer becomes a member! Why wait? Life is short.

Congratulate and celebrate!

So we’d like to congratulate Brian on his referral. And we’d also like to congratulate Patti on becoming a member of the Network. Welcome, Patti! We’re looking forward to helping you make as many split placements as the Chicago Search Group! (That would be 20 and counting.)

For those of you who are late to the party:

  • There’s no limit to the number of referrals that you give us. If you submit 12 referrals that become members, then essentially your Network membership dues for one year will be paid.
  • If you’re the main contact of your firm, the $130 will be credited to your account and taken off your invoice. But if you’re NOT the main contact of your firm, then the $130 will still be credited to the account of the Network firm for which you work.
  • Those recruiters who successfully refer new Network members will receive special mention in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog!
  • The increase in the amount of the referral fee only applies to Network membership. The referral fee for the Big Biller recruiting software and Top Echelon Contracting is still $100.
  • We’re keeping track of how many referrals you give us. At the end of the year, we’ll announce the name of the Network member who has given us the most referrals.

And also as we announced before, we have a special page where you can submit your referral information.

Click here to submit your Network referrals!

We want to congratulate YOU on successfully submitting a Network referral. Then we want to credit your account $130. And then we want you submit more referrals.

Yes, we just want, want, want all the time. But we’re also willing to give, give, give. So start the process and give us what we want! Which, of course, will help you in the long run.

Back in May, we introduced Top Echelon Contracting’s new service level offering—TEC Express. Shortly after that, we announced that there was an online quote on the Top Echelon website that would allow recruiters to calculate their profit on an Express deal.

Well, we have another announcement. You can now run an online quote for the Premium level of service!

TEC Express is designed for contractors who are “office professionals” and would qualify for the Workers Compensation Code 8810 (or equivalent). Since the new Express service level is targeting only office professionals, we can pass more profit along to the recruiter. Express is also designed to streamline the placement process.

TEC Premium, on the other hand, is the service that we’ve offered since 1992. Premium is a full-service recruitment back office solution for technical, professional, and healthcare placements.

Online quote = Recruiter Profit Calculator

We also refer to the online quote as our Recruiter Profit Calculator. When you calculate a quote, you must enter the following information:

  • Bill rate, which is the rate that TEC will bill your client
  • Pay rate, which is the rate that TEC will pay the contractor
  • The state in which the contractor will work

With that information, the Recruiter Profit Calculator will calculate your profit per hour for both Express and Premium. You will also be able to see which services are included for both Express and Premium. (As you might expect, we provide more services with Premium.)

Keep in mind that the profit per hour estimates are just that: estimates. They’re based upon the selected contract placement services, the bill rate, the pay rate, and the state. They do not represent the exact amount of profit that you will earn. While they are approximations, they are close approximations. They illustrate the amount of money that you can earn by making contract placements.

For example, let’s use the following criteria for a sample online quote:

  • $50 per hour bill rate
  • $30 per hour pay rate
  • Ohio

Using that criteria, the estimated recruiter profit per hour for Express is $12.74. On the other hand, the estimated recruiter profit per hour for Premium is $10.26.

If this was an actual quote, there would be other considerations. These include the industry, the position title, the job description, etc. But the online quote is a starting place for exploring the money that you can earn making contract placements.

Run a quote on the Recruiter Profit Calculator!

Top Echelon has plenty of FREE resources to help you get started. For example, you can download our Quick-Start Guide to Contract Staffing. We also have marketing documents to help you promote your contract staffing services.

And of course, you can request a demo from one of our contract staffing specialists.

You can make money with contract placements. Don’t give that money to your competitors!

Sure, social media has become more a part of recruiting during the last decade. But is it really integral to recruiting success? And if it IS a part of that success, how much of a part is it?

You know who has the answer to this question? YOU do. Members of Top Echelon’s split network, that is. And with all of that knowledge at our disposal, how could we not mine for it?

So we asked this poll question in the Members’ Area:

How important is social media to recruiting success?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters that selected each one:

  • Very important — 36.8%
  • Somewhat important — 43.9%
  • Neither important nor unimportant — 14.9%
  • Ultimately not important at all — 4.4%

Social media in recruiting: thumbs up!

The results of this poll are pretty easy to gauge. That’s because 14.9% of recruiters indicated that social media is “neither important nor unimportant.” Another 4.4% chose “ultimately not important at all” as their answer.

Put that all together, and you have 19.3% of poll participants who believe that social media is NOT important to recruiting success.

Use a little math, and that means 80.7% of Network recruiters think it IS important. In fact, 36.8% of them believe it is “very important.” In addition, 43.9% are of the opinion that social media is “somewhat important” to recruiting success.

The bottom line: a thumbs-up for social media in recruiting! At least as far as Network recruiters are concerned, that is.

Over time, will ALL recruiters believe that social media is important to their success? Probably. The only question is how long will it take for that to happen? (And how many Network members will still be in the profession when it it does happen?)

So I guess that’s two questions.
