We like big fees and we can not lie.

I’ll let you decide what you want to do with that sentence. In the meantime, I want to talk more about big fees. Specifically, I want to talk about the big fee that led the way with this week’s split placements in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

The amount of that fee was $52,500. Michael Brown of Seneca Creek Executive Search, LLC and Jasmyn Smith of Hire Level Consulting Inc. were responsible for the fee, as the duo placed a Chief Product Officer at 17.5%.

The best part? It was Jasmyn’s first split placement as a member of Top Echelon Network! Congratulations to Jasmyn!

However, she wasn’t the only Network recruiter who made their first Top Echelon split recently. That’s because congratulations are also in order for Tim Leonard of Automationtechies, who placed an Applications Engineer with Brad Doge of iLocatum Recruiting to earn a fee of $22,950.

As a friendly neighborhood reminder, here is the information that we publish with our weekly placements:

  • Names of the split recruiting partners involved (with their profile photos, when available)
  • Job title
  • Overall placement fee (before TE’s 6% brokerage fee, of course)
  • Fee percentage

Please note that the placements listed below reflect deals finalized in Top Echelon Network for the period from January 22 through January 28, 2024.

Remember, if you don’t want information related to your Network placements published in The Pinnacle, please send an email to marketing@topechelon.com to that effect.

Congratulations to everybody below for the split placements they made in Top Echelon Network!

If you’re a newer Network member and you’d like to enjoy more success in our recruiter network, then I encourage you to contact Top Echelon Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS.

You can do so by calling 330.595.1742 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

We’re continuously updating both the Top Echelon recruiting software and our split placement network software. So we’re pleased to announce the following software updates!

1. [PRO TIER] Automated Text Messaging Action

Send text messages automatically via Automations and stay in contact without slowing down your day. Automated text messages can be configured to trigger when adding records to a Pipeline stage, Hotlist category, or after disqualifying a candidate.

2. Free Job Board Advertising

This new service allows you to easily send a job to all of our free job board partners with a single click. Applicants who apply via these job boards will be automatically added to the corresponding Job’s Pipeline within Top Echelon Software.

3. Search for Jobs Advertised to Free Job Boards

The Advertising card in Jobs Advanced Search now includes the option to search for Jobs that are posted to Free Job Boards.

4. Closed Jobs Removed from All Posting Venues

Jobs with a status other than Open (e.g. Closed, Filled, etc.) are now automatically unadvertised. This change is also retroactive. Any previously advertised Jobs that do not have an Open status have been removed from all posting venues.

5. Additional Billing Contacts

Additional email addresses added as Billing Contacts will receive copies of all invoices generated for your Agency. This provides the flexibility to include users without Manage Billing permissions, as well as addresses not associated with a Top Echelon user account.

6. [PRO TIER] Temporary Edits to Automation Email Scheduler

When making a temporary edit or reviewing a Send Email Automation, you can now add, adjust, or remove the scheduled delay of that email. This allows you to make changes on the fly without permanently altering the Automation itself.

Remember, you can always stay informed about software updates by visiting the official Top Echelon Product Updates page. You can see current and past updates, as well as which updates and upgrades are next.

If you have questions about these updates or about any other aspect of your Top Echelon Network and/or recruiting software account, you can:

→ Send an email to support@topechelon.com.

→ Visit our Help Center for answers to your questions or start a live chat by clicking the “Contact” link in the navigation bar.

In March, Top Echelon will celebrate its 36th anniversary. However, did you know that our Virtual Core Groups (VCG) have been around nearly half as long as the Network itself? That’s right, we’ve been conducting VCG meetings for the past 17 years!

Well, I’m here to let you know. Of course, I’m also the one who runs the Virtual Core Group meetings. I’m also the one who wants YOU to attend these meetings!

With VCG meetings, Network recruiters share information during teleconference calls. This information includes hot job orders, hot candidates, and the activity they’re seeing in the marketplace and within their niche.

Our Lineup of Virtual Core Groups

We currently have Virtual Core Groups operating within the following industries:

  • Healthcare
  • Sales & Marketing
  • Manufacturing & Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Biotechnology & Pharmacology
  • Architectural/Engineering/Construction
  • Accounting & Finance

It’s been proven time and time again that when Network recruiters share this kind of information and they share it on a consistent basis, they make more split placements together. We have almost two decades’ worth of history backing us up on this one.

You can’t argue with that kind of track record, even if you wanted to. And if you wanted to, I wouldn’t let you. (See how this works?)

To my way of thinking, the best way to celebrate 17 years of Virtual Core Groups is to have YOU participate in them. If you’d like to join one of the groups listed above or if you’d like to start a new group, please contact me.

You can do so by calling 330.595.1742 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

As you probably already know, we like to celebrate things here at Top Echelon. As such, we encourage our members to celebrate, as well . . . and there’s nothing better to celebrate than closing deals and making split placements!

However, it’s not just the placement checks themselves that should be celebrated (although your mortgage might think so), but it’s also your split partners who should be celebrated, too.

After all, “but for” them, you would not have made the split. And such a prospect is sad, not celebratory.

With all of this firmly in mind, below are four reasons for celebrating your split partners:

#1—Surprise placements

Sometimes, placements happen in Top Echelon Network when recruiters least expect them, and many times the work that a split partner has done is the reason why. The only thing better than making a placement when you expect to make it is making a placement when you don’t expect to make it. Surprise!

#2—Top-notch candidates

The very best candidates, which are what ALL organizations want, are always in short supply. If recruiters had access to those candidates themselves, they wouldn’t need the help of their split recruiting partners . . . but they don’t . . . so they do. Savvy? (Sorry, I was channeling my inner Captain Jack Sparrow there for a second.)

#3—Somebody you can TRUST

People you can trust in the recruiting and staffing profession can also be in short supply. Trust is one of The Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network, and it’s been proven time and time again that when two Network members trust one another completely, that’s when the real money making begins in the form of multiple split placements. We’re talking 15, 20, 30 placements, and in some cases, even more than that.

#4—Not just a business relationship, but a friendship

Many recruiters in Top Echelon Network don’t just consider their split partners to be business associates. They also consider them to be good friends. As you might imagine, this enhances their business relationship and increases the chances that they’ll make more split placements together.

If you have questions about how to maximize your Top Echelon Network membership and make more splits, I urge you to contact Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS.

You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

Over the course of 2023 I presented some quick tips for more success in Top Echelon Network. And sadly, another year has passed us by . . .

But I still have some quick tips for achieving more success in our split fee recruiting network!

As I’ve stated before, success in the Network results from a combination of proficiency with both human interaction and technology, including Top Echelon’s recruiting database of candidates and job orders.

(For specific questions about Top Echelon software and/or technology, the Help Center is available 24/7 to answer your questions and provide assistance.)

With all of this in mind, here are more quick tips for Top Echelon Network success!

Tip #1: THIS is When to Break Communication

Top Echelon Network urges recruiters to break the chain of communication with a candidate for a period of no less than 18 months after:

  • The candidate is placed in a direct hire position.
  • The placement fee is received and split between the two recruiters.
  • The guarantee period is satisfied.

Assuming the chain of communication was broken, if that candidate decides on their own after 18 months to initiate contact with either of the recruiters, that is their prerogative.

Tip #2: Create Alerts to Keep Yourself Up-to-Date

You can create a Hot Job Alert based solely on the major discipline codes of your area of specialization. This will keep you up-to-date on what is happening in your community and who is active in that niche.

Not only that, but you can also set up Candidate Alerts and Recruiter Alerts.

Click HERE to see multiple Help Center articles about how to set up all of these Top Echelon Network Alerts!

Tip #3: Practice Professional Courtesy

Always treat all Top Echelon Network members and Top Echelon Network candidates with respect and professional courtesy. Specifically, provide feedback and maintain professionalism with ALL correspondence.

In other words, treat them the way you would like to be treated.
