Okay, there’s really no suspense associated with this announcement.  That’s because (most of) you know that the top-producing recruiter in Top Echelon Network for 2014 is Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group.

Cameron has now been recognized as the Recruiter of the Year in the Network for the past four years in a row . . . and 2014 represented his most lopsided victory so far.  In other words, nobody was even close to stopping him from winning.

Trey set some Network records and personal milestones along the way, including the following:

  • Most split placements made in a single calendar year (88)
  • Most cash-in earned in a single calendar year ($683,881)
  • 200 career placements (only 23 more for 300)
  • $2 million career cash-in
  • Shortest amount of time billing $1 million

Unless Trey himself breaks some of these records, they probably won’t be broken, at least not for a long time.  In fact, if he strings together a few more years like 2014, his records might never be broken.

In the meantime, we have a few new faces in the Top 10, as well as some Network “veterans” and repeat award winners.

Below is the complete list of Top Echelon Network’s Top 10 Producers for 2014:

1st—Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group

2nd—Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search

3rd—Sean Napoles, CPC of Career Brokers, Inc.

4th—John Peterson of Sun Recruiting, Inc.

5th—Steve Copeland of fulltimeGiGS/Albert Energy, LLC

6th—Stephanie McGinty of Ives & Associates, Inc.

7th—Bob Small of Carroll Technology Services, Inc.

8th—David M. Sgro, CPC of True North Consultants, Inc.

Everybody at Top Echelon would like to congratulate all of these recruiters and thank them for their hard work and dedication as Preferred Members of our Network.  Their efforts are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to their continued success.

We’ll be announcing the winners of other 2014 awards in future issues of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.

A couple of months ago, we released the new version of the MEGA Database, and I’m pleased to announce that the MEGA is making placements for Top Echelon Network recruiters!

In fact, I’m highlighting just such a placement in this blog post, a split between Carol Calvano of Professional Recruiting Consultants and Marion Mehrer of Your Talent Source, LLC for a Maintenance Manager-Aluminum Extrusion.  Carol was so excited about the placement and how easy it was to use the MEGA that she sent us an email detailing the process from start to finish.

Congratulations to Carol and Marion on their split placement, and we hope that this is the first of many for them!

“Here is how this placement went:

1. The candidate applied to one of my job in September of 2013!  He wasn’t a fit for my job, but the resume looked close enough to my niche, so I added it to our Big Biller database thinking that one day we might be searching for someone like him.  (So breaking that down further, I hit ‘forward email,’ typed the letters ‘pa,’ and my Outlook pulled up that full email parse address for me . . . I didn’t even break a sweat.)

2. Top Echelon rolled out the new MEGA Database search tool and Marion Mehrer joined the Network.  Being new, she was all about using the great TE tools.

3. Marion’s MEGA search yielded one of my candidates in October, so I simply clicked to share the resume with a note that read something like, ‘If he looks good, let me know if you’d like me to update his information.’

4. He wasn’t a fit for that job, but he did fit her niche, so she copied the resume to her database, later calling me when she had activity for him.  (I helped her understand how she had him from me when he didn’t show up in the Split Candidate Database.)

5. A few weeks later, when her client requested someone like [the candidate], she presented him, set up the interview, etc.  She told me this was one of her fastest placements ever.  She has a very happy client as a result of her quick work.

Ironically, in a similar situation, I’d likely work the same way.  My mentality as an importer is that I have to call the candidate to decide if there is a match, write a strong matching profile, and start building trust with them to hopefully close a future deal.  In that light, I’m not concerned that I wasn’t asked to update him or do ‘my half’ of the work.  I’ve always embraced the notion that finding the talent is half the battle.

And regarding the MEGA Database tool, I’ve been happily letting other recruiters take a peek at any resume they request.  Most are rejected and I often concur, but I decided to just trust that they will do the right thing and follow the ‘But For Rule’ if my candidate is a fit (even if they already know the name, but just didn’t find them in their own database).”

This is a great split placement story!  If you’re not using the MEGA Database, then you should be!  The first step is to attend my “MEGA Search Monday Training.”  Join me every Monday at 11 a.m., Eastern Time for a 30-minute session that explores the “ins” and “outs” of the MEGA and what you need to do to make placements with it.

If you have any questions right now, I encourage you to contact me by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

Contract placements typically happen more quickly than direct-hire placements.

But that’s NOT always the case . . . and we have proof in this issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog!

What speeds up the placement process?  The BEST candidate, the candidate that the client absolutely, positively, unequivocally wants to hire.  When that’s the case, there is no “feet dragging.”  There is no “hemming” and/or “hawing” on the part of the hiring authority.  There is no request to “see more candidates.”

There is only an offer of employment.

That’s what happens when you work with Trading Partners who consistently provide you with quality candidates: you make placements, and you make them quickly.  For example, you could go from candidate submittal to placement . . . in just four days!

That was the case recently for the two recruiters below, who have now made 13 split placements together during their tenure in Top Echelon Network.  Could it be said that #13 was “lucky”?  Well, if you equate placement speed and payment speed with good fortune, then the answer is, “Absolutely!”

Do you need more quality candidates?  Do you need more Trading Partners?  Call Top Echelon Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CERS today at 330.455.1433, x156.

“This placement moved fast!  Our client did a great job of moving Trey’s candidate through the process.  We submitted him on a Monday, he was interviewed on a Wednesday, had a job offer out on Wednesday afternoon, and he accepted on Thursday.  GREAT way to end the week.  To make it even better . . . we got paid in four business days!  Thank you, Trey, for all of your work promoting our open positions.”
