Trey Cameron may be able to win nearly every single Recruiter of the Month Award, but he can’t win every single Recruiter of the Week Award.

Speaking of which, our first such award of 2016 goes to a Network recruiter who has enjoyed considerable split placement success since becoming a TE member:

  • 40 Network placements since 2007
  • Nine (9) Network placements in 2014
  • Six (6) Network placements in 2015
Nick Stoia, CPC of ASAP Search & Recruiters

Nick Stoia, CPC

He has surfaced numerous times in our “‘Comments’ and Compliments” feature, and he has branded himself as a reliable trading partner, cultivating a solid reputation for quality in the process.

That recruiter is Nick Stoia, CPC of ASAP Search & Recruiters, the Recruiter of the Week in Top Echelon Network!

Below is Nick Stoia’s five-point plan for split placement success in the Network:

#1—Value split business.

It’s tough to enjoy success doing something if you don’t make that something a priority. In Stoia’s case, split placements and split business are a priority for him on his recruiting desk and also within his firm.

“I work in an office environment that values split business, where if you service the client in filling a position or give a very good effort we and are then able to get the next job order,” he said.

#2—Recognize the value of membership.

Quality candidates are in very high demand in the marketplace right now. Quite frankly, there is a lack of them in just about all industries and disciplines. Stoia recognizes that the Network offers tremendous value in this area.

“In a very practical sense, I need good candidates since the available talent has shrunk and TE is a means of finding them,” he said.

#3—Participate, participate, participate.

Active Participation is one of The Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network, and while Stoia adheres to all of the Pillars, he takes this one quite seriously. After all, you can’t experience success if you don’t participate. Top Echelon Network is not a “magic placement machine.”

“I post many of my job orders to import talent and do individual searches with our own good candidates to then export them to openings posted on TE,” said Stoia. “I’m very much a mix of an importer and exporter.”

#4—Be open to building new trading partner relationships.

Relationships are the foundation of success in Top Echelon Network, specifically the relationships that recruiters have with one another in their effort to make split placements and generate cash flow. However, Stoia is always on the lookout for his next great trading partner relationship. He does not rest on his laurels.

“I’m blessed to have energizing interaction and success with some very good TE partners, and I’m always open to developing new partner relationships,” he said.

#5—Pray.

According to Stoia, another key to his success is “committing my efforts on a regular basis in prayer.” As a spiritual man, Stoia recognizes the importance of this not only in his personal life, but in his professional endeavors, as well. It sets his mind right, improves his focus, and allows him to keep his priorities in the order in which he’d like to keep them.

And we’re going to add a double-secret bonus step in this plan . . . although it’s not really a secret:

#6 (Bonus)—Attend TE events for split placement success.

During his tenure in the Network, Stoia has been a consistent attendee at Top Echelon Network events like the National Convention and the Fall Conference. He recognizes that meeting other recruiters face-to-face helps him not only solidy existing trading partner relationships, but also create new ones that could also result in split placements (see #4).

So congratulations to Nick Stoia from everybody here at Top Echelon. Nick has found a proven formula for split placement success in the Network, one that should serve him well in 2016 and beyond. (Click here to read even more about Nick.)

Okay, we’ve given you “The Top 15 Moments in Top Echelon in 2015,” but that’s just the beginning. That’s because we have another list for you: the Top 10 Milestones in Top Echelon during the recently completed year.

We enjoy promoting the milestones and achievements of our Network recruiters because we enjoy watching them succeed. We want them to succeed. (It’s part of our mission statement, for crying out loud.) Not only that, but we’ve met this people in person. They’re real, genuine individuals and consummate professionals. They deserve all of the accolates they receive.

With that said, below are “The Top 10 Milestones in Top Echelon in 2015”:

#10—Steve Kohn becomes a $1 Million Producer.

If there was anybody nipping at the heels of Trey Cameron in the Network throughout all of 2015, it was Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search. Steve was the #2 recruiter in the Network last year, he made his 100th TE placement in 2014, and he then added $1 Million Producer status to his long list of accomplishments last year. If anybody can knock Trey off the top of the mountain, it’s Steve.

#9—Jerry Walters celebrates his 24th year in TE.

Jerry Walter of Walter & Associates became a Top Echelon Network recruiter in June of 1991, three years after Top Echelon was founded. Since that time, he’s made 182 placements through the Network, which puts him among the all-time leaders. Jerry seized upon the value that Top Echelon provided right away, attending our conventions, meeting trading partners face-to-face, and making placements left and right.

#8—Maria Hemminger makes her 100th Network placement.

It almost seems as though Maria Hemminger of MJ Recruiters, LLC hasn’t been in the Network long enough to make 100 placements. However, Maria will be the first one to tell you that her placement numbers are a team effort, starting with her partner at MJ Recruiters, Joanna Spaun. Together, they are an iron-clad, fun-loving, dynamic duo of placement activity and excitement generation. Just wind them up and watch them go!

#7—MJ Recruiters celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Speaking of MJ Recruiters, the firm celebrated its 10th anniversary in August of this past year. That milestone is significant because MJ Recruiters joined Top Echelon Network shortly after opening its doors, and the firm was a model Network agency almost since the first day that they joined. Top Echelon Network was created with firms like MJ Recruiters in mind.

#6—Trey Cameron makes his 300th Network placement.

Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group has been a placement machine in Top Echelon Network during the past few years. As a result, he reached the 300-placement plateau shortly after 2015 began. And don’t look now, but he’s closing in on 400 Network placements. That, friends and neighbors, might be a Top Echelon record that is never broken. I mean, after he breaks it and makes 500 placements. (You know what I meant.)

#5—Joe Cotter celebrates 45 years in the industry.

I don’t know which milestone is more impressive: Trey making 300 (or 400 or 5000 placements) or this one. Joe Cotter of J.D. Cotter Search, Inc. became a recruiter in 1970. That’s right, the man has been in the industry for the past 45 years. Joe Cotter is an even-tempered, good-natured man of integrity, consistency, and professionalism. You can’t say enough good things about him, and we’re certainly glad that he is part of Top Echelon Network.

Click here to read “Joe Cotter: 45 Years and Still Going Strong.”

#5—Lou Michaels: Charter Member with 46 years in recruiting.

Top Echelon Network was founded as Nationwide Interchange Service in March of 1988. During that same year, Lou Michaels of Lou Michaels Associates and Steve Brody of Executive Resource Systems both joined NIS as Charter Members. Now, 27 years later, Lou and Steve are still Network members. Steve became a member on March 8 of that year, while Lou did the same on October 10. And while Joe Cotter’s 45 years in recruiting is impressive, Lou started in the profession in 1969.

Click here to read “Lou Michaels Associates Celebrates It’s 27th Anniversary.”

#3—The Copelands both land in The Top 10.

During the 27 years that Top Echelon has been in operations, we have never had a husband-wife duo in The Top 10. That all changed this past year, though, when Steve Copeland and Pam Copeland of Albert Energy, LLC/fulltimeGiGs became the first. As a bonus, their achievement made both this list and our list of “Top 15 Moments in Top Echelon in 2015.” As a bonus-bonus, they attended just about every single networking event we held in 2015 and were tons of fun.

Click here to read “The Copelands: TE’s Top-Producing ‘Dynamic Duo’.”

#2—Sean Napoles becomes a $2 Million Producer in TE.

When you talk about “model Network recruiters,” you can certainly put Sean Napoles, CPC of Career Brokers, Inc. in that category. No recruiter has been as unerringly consistent as Sean has been during his 15 years as a member of Top Echelon Network. One of the best pure exporters that the Network has ever seen, Sean’s commitment to quality, combined with his otherworldly work ethic, has helped propel him to the top of the TE charts each and every year. Sean is a first-ballot Top Echelon Hall of Fame enshrinee.

#1—Carroll and Silver make their 53rd Network split.

Top Echelon Network is all about making split placements, and while all of the accomplishments listed above are very impressive, most of them do not pertain directly to a trading partner relationship. Donna Carroll, CPC of Systems Personnel and Gary Silver of The Shay Group have made more split placements together than any other recruiters in the history of Top Echelon. Like Trey Cameron, they may set the record so high that it will never be broken.

Congratulations to everybody who achieved a milestone in 2015! Although we certainly could not list absolutely everybody who reached a milestone this past year, we certainly want to congratulate those people, anyway. Because that’s just how we roll.

Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group enjoyed a ridiculously good year in Top Echelon Network during 2015. He broke all sorts of records and won all sorts of awards. However, there’s one thing that he did NOT do last year:

He did NOT win the Recruiter of the Month Award all 12 months.

That’s because Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search stopped him, and Steve did so by winning the monthly award in January of 2015. Steve made four splits that month, and Trey made two. It’s a good thing Steve edged him early, because Trey made no less than six split placements every month for the rest of the year and ran everybody else over.

As you might have already guessed, this is my long way of saying that Trey won the monthly award for December of 2015. (Hey, when the same guy wins the same award just about every month, you do what you can to mix things up, you know what I’m saying?)

Anyway, we at Top Echelon want to congratulate Trey, we want to congratulate Steve for stopping Trey, and we want to congratulate everybody else who enjoyed a great December and a great year in 2015. A New Year is upon us, and that means more placements, more hijinks, and more chances for Top Echelon Network recruiters to stop Trey Cameron’s streak of domination!

You know, if you can . . . that is.
