Members’ Opinions About COVID-19 Restrictions

We’ve conducted a number of polls about the COVID-19 virus in the legacy version of the Top Echelon Network software . . . so how about a couple more? (We thought you’d agree.)

This time, we decided to focus on the lockdown restrictions that were imposed and are now in the process of slowly being lifted throughout the country. But are looser restrictions a good idea?

Let’s see what Top Echelon Network members had to say . . .

Once restrictions are lifted, how quickly will you return to your normal activities?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of recruiters that selected each one:

  • Immediately! — 51.7%
  • I’ll wait to see what happens with the virus. — 36.2%
  • I’ll continue to limit contact and activities indefinitely. — 12.1%

And here’s the second poll question that we posed . . .

What do you think of the lockdown restrictions that are being lifted across the country?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of recruiters that selected each one:

  • It’s about time! — 21.4%
  • It’s a good idea as long as caution is exercised. — 42.9%
  • I am 100% neutral about this issue. — 1.8%
  • I’d wait a little while longer. — 17.9%
  • It’s WAY too early to be lifting restrictions. — 16.1%

Summary:

Clearly, more than half of recruiters participating in the poll (51.7%) plan to start normal activities “immediately” upon restrictions being lifted. In addition, a combined 64.3% are of the opinion that loosening restrictions is a good idea.

While a healthy number of people appear ready to exercise extreme caution, they still appear to be in the minority. This is evidenced by the percentage of members who plan to “continue to limit contact and activities indefinitely” (12.1%) and claim that it’s “WAY too early to be lifting restrictions” (16.1%).

Analysis and Conclusion:

The thing about coronavirus polls is that opinions and answers can change over time. That’s because things happen quickly. (Think for a moment about how much has happened during the past six weeks.)

One thing is for sure, though. People are desperate to return to some semblance of normality. When that will occur, though, is the topic of much debate, since there is so much uncertainty surrounding both the topic and, of course, the virus.

Hindsight, as they say, is 20/20. In no situation is that more applicable than during a pandemic. Because as much as has happened during the past six weeks, the next six weeks promise to be action-packed, as well.
