It was once said that “a tie is like kissing your sister.” We can thank Navy football coach Eddie Erdelatz for that little gem (and whatever mental imagery that goes along with it). And that’s all I’ll say about that.

However, I will say a little more about ties. That’s because we have a tie for Recruiter of the Month in Top Echelon Network for July!

Well, sort of . . .

When a tie is not a tie

Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search has been chasing Trey Cameron of Cameron Craig Group for the last few years. As a duo, they’ve sat perched atop the Network in terms of rolling cash-in dollars.

And invariably, they’ve been first and second, respectively, when it comes to Recruiter of the Month. Steve did beat Trey for the award once, but that was for the month of December 2015. So Steve has been waiting a long time for a kiss. And now this.

Both Trey and Steve made nine split placements in the Network during the month of July. However, Trey had the higher cash-in dollar amount for his nine splits (see below). That means—you guessed it—Trey wins the tiebreaker.

But because of Steve’s dogged persistence and relentless production in the face of insurmountable odds, we are prepared to name him and Trey “Co-Recruiters of the Month” for the month of July. Sometimes, you just have to pucker up.

Congratulations to everybody on the list below! And congratulations to everybody who made Top Echelon placements during the month of July!

Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its split recruiting awards based upon two criteria, which are listed below in order of importance:

1.) The number of split placements made
2.) The amount of “cash-in” dollars earned as a result of those split placements

This explains why, when multiple recruiters are tied with the same number of TE placements during a given month or quarter, the recruiter with the largest “cash-in” total is ultimately deemed the winner.

If you’re looking to make more placements with your Top Echelon recruiter network membership, then contact Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

When it comes to the biggest split placement fee in Top Echelon’s recruiter network, it doesn’t get much bigger than the biggest fee in July. That’s because that fee was a whopping $64,688!

Most of the time, the biggest split placement fee in the Network hovers around the $40K to $50K range. Then a fee like this one comes along and exceeds expectations.

Biggest split placement = communication

So what was the action causing TE’s biggest split placement in July? Communication, of course!

The fact of the matter is that consistent communication between split recruiting partners is the number-one way that placements happen in the Network. It’s always been that way. It will probably always be that way. (Although the Network Jobs Feed has been giving it a run for its money in recent years. Literally.)

When you communicate more often with your trading partners, you know more about their needs. When you know more about their needs, you’re better able to meet those needs. And it’s not just their needs that are being met. It’s your needs, too!

That’s the essence of membership in Top Echelon Network: creating a win-win situation for both the job order recruiter and the candidate recruiter.

And both Matthew Dahm of IT Audit Search and MaryAnn Genovese of Edgecumbe Group probably feel like they both won with this split placement!

The position for this split placement was a VP of Community and Growth. Matthew was the job order recruiter and MaryAnn was the candidate recruiter.

The action that stimulated this split placement was listed as “Offline communication with another member.”

The fee for this split placement was $64,688.

Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its Network split fee recruiting awards in four distinct categories:

1.) Recruiter of the Month
2.) Largest Split Fee of the Month
3.) Recruiter of the Quarter
4.) Largest Split Fee of the Quarter

We only announce the winners of these awards in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog. We do so usually (but not always) in the issue following the conclusion of each month and/or quarter.

The top contract recruiters in Top Echelon Network are earning thousands of dollars in recurring revenue every month by making contract placements.

And I have the proof of that statement, which is below. These recruiters are earning three, four, and five thousands extra dollars per month. (In some cases, they’re earning even more than that.)

This money is NOT in place of their direct hire placements. These recruiters are still making direct hire placements. They’re simply supplementing their direct hire desk by offering contract staffing to their clients.

Once again, keep in mind that the numbers below are just the placements made by Network members. There are also placements made through Top Echelon Contracting’s recruitment back office every month by non-members.

Congratulations to the recruiters below. We hope there are many more contract placements in their future!

This report lists the Top 10 Top Echelon Network members by contract placement earnings through Top Echelon Contracting. The report is provided to Network members for informational purposes. Top Echelon Network and Top Echelon Contracting utilize two different reward programs. Top Echelon Contracting recognizes and awards recruiters through its Frequent Contract Placement (FCP) Program. This program gives recruiters the opportunity to earn “cash back” points on recruiter commissions. Once a recruiter has $20,000 in earnings, he or she will begin earning cash back. Click here to learn more about the FCP program.

Top Contract Recruiters: July 31, 2018

Recruiter and Agency2018 Earnings
Keith Adams of PediaStaff$616,220
Jim Brown of Galileo Search, LLC$510,293
Cindy Stephens, CPC/CTS of Stephens International Recruiting, Inc.$55,009
Cindy Ridley of HRtechies, Inc.$43,278
Philip Bartfield of Analytic Search$23,216
Maria Hemminger of MJ Recruiters, LLC$21,313
Donna Carroll of $21,304
John F. Hope, CPC of Tri-Force$17,079
Pat McCombs, CPC of KB Search Team, LLC$11,131
Bill Young of EPC Recruiters, Inc.$10,191

As I mentioned above, all of the recruiters on this list are direct hire recruiters. They run a direct hire desk, in addition to making contract placements.

You do NOT have to stop making direct hire placements to offer contract staffing services to your existing base of clients. All you have to do is two things:

  1. Ask your clients if they have contract job orders. (If they do, then there’s a good chance they’ll give them to you.)
  2. Use Top Echelon’s recruitment back office solutions. We’ll take care of all the financial, legal, and administrative details associated with employing the contractors.

If you have any questions about this whole process, we have answers.

See that cake in the above photo? That cake celebrated the 25th anniversary of Top Echelon Contracting. This week in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, there are two TE agencies that are celebrating their 25th anniversary in our recruiting network.

I say this mainly because just about everybody likes cake. I also bring it up because we want to recognize these two TE agencies!

Let these TE agencies eat cake

The TE agencies in question are EXEK Recruiters, Ltd. and MEIRxRs/Med Exec Intl. As you can see below, they’re made quite a few split placements and quite a lot of money making those placements in the Network.

And they’re not alone. We also have an agency celebrating a 22-year anniversary (FINANCIALjobs.com) and another one celebrating a 20-year anniversary (Career Search Associates).

Twenty years of membership is impressive, no matter the situation. And we’re certainly glad that agencies and their recruiters have found 20 years’ worth of value in their Network membership. Because that’s what we strive to provide for all of our members: value that far exceeds the cost of their split fee recruiting membership.

So congratulations to everybody on the list below. Cake for everybody!

You do like cake . . . right?

(Editor’s note: Top Echelon recognizes agencies celebrating five, 10, 15, and 20-year Network anniversaries, plus any agency celebrating an anniversary in excess of 20 years.)

The band Creed had a hit song in the early 2000s. The name of that song was “With Arms Wide Open” This blog post is NOT about that song.

Instead, this blog post is about the recruiting agencies that joined Top Echelon’s recruiting network during the month of July. It is also about how you—TE’s current membership—should welcome these new members with open arms.

With arms wide open . . . or open arms?

I just remembered that the band Journey had a song titled “Open Arms.” This blog post is also NOT about that song.

Anyway, as you can see, our new Network agencies are listed below. They work in a variety of industries and niches. Specifically, they specialize in the following areas, among others:

  • Healthcare
  • Aerospace
  • Manufacturing
  • Engineering
  • Finance

So if you haven’t already picked up the clues I’ve been leaving, I’d like you to welcome these new TE agencies. And yes, I’d like you to welcome them with open arms. Figuratively, not literally. (Although I won’t discourage you from driving to their office and giving them a hug.)

We want camaraderie in this split network. We want chemistry. And we want friendships. It’s true that we already have plenty of that. But we want more!

If you have any questions about reaching out to new members or about your Network membership in general, please contact me. My contact information is at the end of this blog post.
