Our Recruiter of the Week for this issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog has been in the Network for less than two years. However, she’s already made her mark. That recruiter is . . . Amylyn Kyler of Kyler Professional Search!

(No real suspense there. Her name was in the blog’s headline.)

Amylyn joined the Network in September of 2015. Since then, she has been a paragon of production in TE.

Amylyn Kyler: paragon of production

Amylyn made one Network placement before the end of 2015. Then she made 10 split placements in 2016 and already has six splits this year. That puts her on pace to exceed her total of a year ago.

Amylyn is currently ranked #11 in Top Echelon’s recruiting network in terms of cash-in during the past 12 months. Her cash-in total during that time was $115,800.

As you can see by the comments below, Amylyn values her trading partners. She continuously seeks to build more relationships and nurture the ones that she has. That’s why she attends recruiter networking events like the National Convention and the upcoming Fall Conference.

Amylyn is split-minded, she’s committed to Top Echelon’s philosophy for conducting business, and she’s a model Network member. For all of these reasons, she’s the Recruiter of the Week.

Congratulations to Amylyn Kyler from everybody at Top Echelon Network!

It’s a good time to be a recruiter. There’s a record six million job openings in the country right now. There’s a scarcity of top talent to fill those positions. And companies are motivated to hire. We, on the other hand, are motivated to welcome the search firms below to our elite recruiter network.

It’s also a good time to be a recruiting network. That’s because, since top candidates are short supply, Network members are using their split fee recruiting partners to find viable candidates. The result? More placements, of course!

Welcome these search firms!

We have yet more search firms joining Top Echelon Network this week. They work in a variety of industries and niches. The agencies listed below specialize in the following areas, among others:

  • Big Data
  • Human Resources
  • Environmental Health & Safety
  • Financial Services
  • Healthcare

These recruiters want to make placements. They want to share job orders and candidates. They want to build relationships and generate more revenue.

In short, they want all of the same things YOU do. So pick up the phone, call the owners of these search firms, and make things happen! There’s a lot of year left in 2017. So make every conversation count.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a newer Network recruiter or an established member. If you want help making split placements with other Top Echelon members, then I welcome you to contact me.

You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

You know the old saying: “April showers bring May flowers.” The only problem is that you can’t pay your mortgage bill with flowers. The solution? April showers also bring huge placement fees!

Well, not for everybody. But definitely for the two recruiters listed below. That’s because they nabbed the Largest Split Fee of the Month award for May.

Trading partners = placement fees

As far as the “showers” part is concerned, we’re talking about showering your trading partners with attention. That means:

  • Communicating with them on regular basis (daily, if possible)
  • Sending them your hot job orders and candidates
  • Trusting them to do their job during the placement process
  • Chipping in whenever necessary to ensure a successful placement

You don’t need to have 20 trading partners in Top Echelon’s recruiting network. The most successful recruiters in TE typically have between three and five grade-A partners. In actuality, you only need one trading partner in your niche with whom you work really well.

There have been trading partner relationships in the Network that have produced 10, 20, and 30 or more split placements. All you need is one trading partner . . . ONE. And you could score huge placement fees like the one highlighted below.

If you need help honing your split recruiting efforts, then contact Top Echelon Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its Network split fee recruiting awards in four distinct categories, which are listed below:

1.) Recruiter of the Month
2.) Largest Split Fee of the Month
3.) Recruiter of the Quarter
4.) Largest Split Fee of the Quarter

The winners of these awards are only announced in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, usually (but not always) in the issue following the conclusion of each month and/or quarter.

Recruiters tap into Top Echelon Network power each and every week. That’s because they make placements they would not have made otherwise. (And that is the very definition of Network power.)

We have a prime example of that power in this week’s issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog. That example is a case study between two successful members. One of them has already made 100 Network placements. The other one is as close to 100 placements as a recruiter can be.

Top Echelon Network power station

Those two recruiters are David M. Sgro, CPC of True North Consultants, Inc. and Angela Marasco of A. Marasco Recruiting, LLC. One of their recent placements illustrates Top Echelon Network power. Below are a few of the many reasons why this the case:

  • After Angela sent Dave a candidate and that candidate ultimately did not get hired, he kept the candidate in his database . . . but tagged with HER ownership.
  • Three years later, the candidate indicated interest in one of Dave’s jobs . . . and Dave honored Angela’s ownership.
  • Dave Sgro’s handling of this situation represents the value that Top Echelon’s recruiting network offers. Our value is tied directly to the quality of the recruiters in the Network, and Dave is of the highest quality.

And that’s why Dave has made 102 placements in Top Echelon Network with a cash-in total of over $800K. And it’s also why this is a perfect case study about Network power for helping members make more placements.

“Angela always does a great job in sending me well-qualified and good quality candidates. If the candidate does not get hired, I will still keep them in my database tagged with her ownership. We worked with this candidate about three years ago on another job I had at the time. Well, this year I got this job order and the first thing I always do is mass email my database. Her candidate from 3+ years ago responds and is interested and gets hired! Recycling good candidates is awesome! Thanks, Angela!”

At Top Echelon, we like to ask uncomfortable questions. Specifically, we like to ask those questions of our Network recruiters. Because why not?

We asked just such a question in the form of a poll question in the Members’ Area recently. In fact, we asked two of them (because it was twice as nice). The questions revolved around how many times people have gone behind member’s back.

Let’s view the juicy results, shall we?

How many times in your career has a candidate tried to go behind your back to the hiring manager?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters that selected each one:

  • Never! — 18.9%
  • Once or twice — 52.6%
  • Three or four times — 17.9%
  • Five or six times — 5.3%
  • More than six times — 5.3%

And then on the heels of that question, we asked THIS one:

How many times in your career has a client tried to hire a candidate behind your back ?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Network recruiters that selected each one:

  • Never! — 30.6%
  • Once or twice — 56.5%
  • Three or four times — 10.6%
  • Five or six times — 1.2%
  • More than six times — 1.2%

Back-to-back behind their backs

The first thing that is evident from the results of his poll is that candidates apparently go behind recruiters’ backs more than clients. After all, 30.6% of recruiters indicated that a client had never gone behind their back. Conversely, only 18.9% indicated that a candidate had never done so.

Interestingly, the answers for “once or twice” were rather even. That’s because 56.5% of recruiters chose that frequency for clients and 52.6% chose it for candidates. Apparently, “isolated incidents” are not all that isolated.

However, more clients went behind recruiters backs “three or four times” (10.6%) as compared to candidates (5.3%). But that’s where things fall off for clients. Hardly any members indicated that clients have gone behind their back “five or six times” (1.2%) or “more than six times” (1.2%). The rate for candidates at that frequency is greater, but not mind-boggling. Both “five or six times” and “more than six times” garnered 5.3% of the vote.

No recruiter likes to have somebody go behind their back. In fact, nobody likes it, period. But it does happen. It happens on both the candidate side and the client side.

It doesn’t mean you’re a bad recruiter. It just means you might need different candidates and new clients.

If you want to maximize your strengths and improve your weaknesses within TE, then contact Top Echelon Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

Billings in Top Echelon’s recruiter network are rather high. We prove that every month when we publish the names of the top Network recruiters in The Pinnacle. And this month is NO exception.

That’s because the top five TE recruiters in the month of May billed $267,274!

Once again, Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group is the Recruiter of the Month. However, there are other interesting aspects of this month’s lineup:

  • There are TWO Camerons in the two five. That’s because Paul Cameron made four placements during May, good enough for fourth place.
  • Three of the recruiters in the top five for May were also in the top five for April—Trey Cameron, Steve Kohn, and Sean Napoles.
  • A recent Recruiter of the Week, Bob Millman, cracked the top five for the month of May.
  • Trey Cameron’s 13 splits generated nearly as much in billings as the placements of the other four recruiters combined.

So far in 2017, placements in our split network are up for the fifth year in a row. There are plenty of job orders and plenty of optimism in the Network. Will that optimism continue throughout the rest of the year? We’ll see. But in the meantime, keep networking, sharing information, and trusting your trading partners!

Congratulations to everybody on the list below and everybody who made Network split placements in May!

Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its split recruiting awards based upon two criteria, which are listed below in order of importance:

1.) The number of split placements made
2.) The amount of “cash-in” dollars earned as a result of those split placements

This explains why, when multiple recruiters are tied with the same number of split placements during a given month or quarter, the recruiter with the largest “cash-in” total for their placements is deemed the winner.
