With the holiday tomorrow, we’re certainly thankful for you—the members of Top Echelon Network. However, we also know that YOU are thankful for the split placements you make as members of our recruiting network.

How do we know this? Because many of you tell us, of course!

One way you tell us is with the comments that you submit with your Offers Accepted and Completed Placement Forms. Another way is through email correspondence. And a third way is in person at recruiter networking events like our National Convention and Fall Conference.

Thankful on Thanksgiving Eve

Something else for which we’re thankful at Top Echelon is that Network placements continue to outpace last year’s production. As of the publishing of this blog post, completed placements are up 10.9% year-to-date (YTD) over last year.

In addition, Network recruiters have been building momentum during the second half of the year. As a result, production should continue to exceed 2017 levels throughout the rest of 2018.

And that’s something for which we can ALL be thankful.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

As you probably already know, we celebrate anniversaries in Top Echelon’s recruiting network. This week, though, we have a special anniversary. That’s because the members of The PRA Group, Inc. would like to recognize one of their own, Dan Trudeau, for being with the agency for 20 years.

PRA President Pam Petitpren recently emailed the following accolades to the Top Echelon offices:

Pam Petitpren of The PRA Group, Inc.

Pam Petitpren

“Just wanted to give a shout out regarding a milestone for both Dan Trudeau and our company. Today we celebrate 20 years of Dan joining our firm. In an industry with an incredible burnout rate, it is amazing that Dan has lasted the test of time and even more remarkable it is to be with one agency his entire career!

“When Dan started work with us, he was a new college grad, newly married with a wife who had become critically ill during their honeymoon. Within 30 days, she was in surgery having a liver transplant. All huge life-changing and challenging moments. Twenty years later, the transplant was successful and Beth has had a successful career as a teacher and she and Dan are busy working and raising two young boys. And what started as “a port in a storm” in the recruiting industry has truly become Dan’s calling. Dan is truly dedicated to both his candidates and clients. And as all of you who have worked with him in our Network know, he is just a great industry professional, as well an all-around great guy!

“Jim, Dan, and I have had much success together. We also weathered 9/11 and the Great Recession . . . a challenge that was truly devastating. Every client we had shut down all their job orders for months. Add to it that our business is in the heart of Southeastern Michigan, and it was a business-destroying event for all of us. The ability to regroup and reinvent ourselves and work together to do this is something all three of us feel both the deepest sense of gratitude and humility about.

“Of the many things we did to turn our ship around was to become members of TE. It is one of the smartest things we ever did, and working with this organization has truly brought joy to all of our lives. We have met and worked with some of the finest people in the staffing industry. You help us find good people and you strengthen our morale as we wrestle with this beast we call recruiting. God bless all of you. You have made a difference in our lives.”

Dan Trudeau: secrets to his success

The PRA Group, Inc. joined Top Echelon’s recruiter network in 2012. Since joining, Dan Trudeau has made 25 split placements in the Network. That total includes eight placements last year and four more in 2018.

So as you might have already guessed (if you haven’t read the headline), Dan is Recruiter of the Week!

However, we wanted Dan to say a few words about the success he’s enjoyed with The PRA Group and also within Top Echelon. This is what he had to say:

Dan Trudeau of The PRA Group, Inc.

Dan Trudeau

“I was brought into the staffing industry twenty years ago when Jim and Pam Petitpren decided to take a chance on a fresh college grad with nothing on paper that screamed, ‘This is a recruiter!’ I’m very happy they took that chance. It’s rare in any industry, but particularly ours, to remain with one company over the course of a career, but here we are, weathering the storms and celebrating the successes together in 2018. They’re proof that you can be professional and still caring and that it’s possible to be successful while staying true to what’s important to you. Why would I want to work with anyone else?

“The job market is a much different place than it was when I started. Technology has changed the way we go about our day-to-day business and the candidate market has never been tighter. Our work with TE has been a big part of why we’re still here doing well. The other recruiters we’ve partnered with have done more than just bring us candidates or new jobs to work on. TE has been a valuable resource for industry information, solutions to common problems, info on how to best use the tools available, and the camaraderie that comes from working in a challenging business many others aren’t aware of. It’s a key part of the success we’ve had over the last 5+ years.”

Well said! Congratulations to Dan Trudeau for his 20 years with The PRA Group and also for being named Recruiter of the Week in Top Echelon Network!

“What is a hat trick?” you may be asking. It’s a term used for when a hockey player scores three goals in a single game. The term can also be used in soccer. And cricket, if that’s something you’re into.

“But what about the photo above this blog post?” you may also be asking. “It looks like it’s right out of the Indiana Jones movie series. Are you really combining Indiana Jones with ice hockey? And soccer? And cricket, for crying out loud?”

Of course I am!

A hat trick and $1 million

Actually, what I’m really doing is illustrating the fact that we have three big anniversaries in Top Echelon’s recruiting network this month. And when I mean big, I mean three anniversaries of 20 years or more. In fact, those anniversaries are 27 years, 24 years, and 22 years in length.

Not only that, but one of the agencies celebrating a big anniversary (AutoPro Technical Recruiting) also reached a milestone recently. The agency surpassed $1 million cash-in through Top Echelon Network. So congratulations to agency owner Bob Millman and the rest of the AutoPro team for reaching that impressive milestone!

And congratulations to everybody who celebrated an anniversary this month in Top Echelon Network. May the rest of this year and all of 2019 bring you more success and more split placements!

(Editor’s note: Top Echelon recognizes firms celebrating five, 10, 15, and 20-year Network anniversaries, plus any firm celebrating an anniversary in excess of 20 years.)

Making placements is not always easy. Heck, sometimes it’s never easy. But filling out placement forms in Top Echelon’s recruiting network IS easy. If you know what you’re doing, that is.

Here at Top Echelon, we want you to know what you’re doing. That’s why we have training webinars and a Help Center that’s available 24 hours a day, seven days per week. When you know what you’re doing, you’re more successful.

And when you’re more successful, WE are more successful.

Placement forms: quick and easy

For the past few years, we at Top Echelon have compiled a rather impressive library of training videos for Network recruiters.

These videos are recorded versions of live training webinars (our “Training Tuesday” sessions). We’ve designed them to help you enjoy more success. In other words, we’ve designed them to help you make more split placements.

These videos, which we’ve placed in the Top Echelon Help Center, are “evergreen.” What does that mean? It means we’ve filled them with information that is timeless in terms of what it takes to be successful in Top Echelon’s recruiter network.

So please enjoy this week’s featured Network training video!

Webinar Video: “Make It Easy With Placement Forms”

Description: There are a number of reasons why you should fill out the placement forms in TE:

In this Network training video, Chris Fuller shows how EASY it is to fill out the placement forms. You will learn the different types of forms (phone interview, face-to-face interview, offer accepted, completed placement), where to access them, and how to submit them.
