Recently, Top Echelon member Kristy Staggs of Byrnes & Rupkey reached the 100-placement plateau in the Network.

And now she has company, because Network member Gary Schultz of Work 22, Inc. has also reached that milestone!

In fact, Gary has now made 100 split placements “on the nose” since joining the Network. Those 100 placements have brought him a cash-in total of just over $734K.

Gary Schultz of Work 22, Inc.

Gary Schultz

When he joined Top Echelon Network, Gary worked primarily in Manufacturing and Information Technology. After joining, though, he became an importer of candidates within the Network in additional industries. These industries include Automotive, Healthcare, Food, Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, and Construction.

“In order to achieve 100 placements, I reviewed a great deal of resumes to discern viable candidates before hitting the send button,” said Gary.

According to Gary, there are seven factors that he uses to evaluate candidates:

  1. Education
  2. Work experience
  3. Work authorization
  4. Location
  5. Salary range
  6. Years of employment
  7. Relocation assistance

“Therefore, many resumes are rejected daily when the seven factors are not met,” said Gary. “The salary of the job is offered at the onset on an interview; the salary requirement and salary history of the candidates are not a crux.”

What makes Gary’s accomplishment all the more impressive is that he achieved it in a short amount of time. Work 22, Inc. joined Top Echelon Network on May 30, 2017. That means Gary has made his 100 splits in less than five and a half years. That’s nearly an average of 20 split placements per year.

As a result, Gary was the sixth-highest producing recruiter in Top Echelon Network in 2020 and the fifth-highest producing recruiter in the Network in 2021. So far this year, with a little less than four months remaining, Gary is ranked fourth. So as you can see, he’s been steadily moving up the Top Echelon charts.

According to Gary, another key to his Network success has been his ability to comprehend the job description and its requirements. However, above all else, Gary credits his many Top Echelon split recruiting partners for their help, specifically their willingness to put in the work necessary to bring 100 split placements to completion.

“My gratitude to all Top Echelon importers for returning my phone calls and/or emails and offering permission to advertise, coupled with explaining the job requirements in a lucid fashion,” he said.

Considering the momentum that Gary has created (and maintained) in such a short period of time, it might not be surprising if he eventually reaches third place in the Network standings . . . and makes another 100 splits during the next five years!

September is traditionally a strong month for recruiters in Top Echelon, and Network members are off to another strong start this September!

That’s because they racked up 20 split placements last week. Not only that, but many of those placements also brought with them large recruiting fees.

For example, Kym Springer of Team Builders Recruiting and Consulting and Linda Cooper of ADM Talent Recruiting, LLC placed a Senior Risk Manager for a split fee of $47,500 at 25%.

In addition, Amy Chapman of Key People Staffing and Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search, Inc. placed a Plant Manager for a split fee of $46,000 at 20%.

In terms of pure volume, Trey Cameron of Cameron Craig Group led the way by being part of six splits during the week.

As a friendly neighborhood reminder, here is the information that we publish with our weekly placements:

  • Names of the split recruiting partners involved (with their profile photos, when available)
  • Job title
  • Overall placement fee (before TE’s 6% brokerage fee, of course)
  • Fee percentage

Please note that the placements listed below reflect deals finalized in Top Echelon Network for the week of September 5, through September 11, 2022.

Remember, if you don’t want information related to your Network placements published in The Pinnacle, please send an email to marketing@topechelon.com to that effect.

Congratulations to everybody below for the split placements they made in Top Echelon Network!

Now that we’ve identified and explored the five stages of a networker, we’re going to apply these stages to the nine essential elements for success in Top Echelon Network.

Specifically, we’re going to examine the attitudes that Network recruiters in each of the five stages have about these elements. In short, their networking mindset.

Why? Because it’s these attitudes that determine Network recruiters’ ultimate level of success in Top Echelon. (In other words, how many split placements they make.)

The first of the essential nine elements that we’ll address is mindset.

The networking mindset in 5 stages

Below is an examination of that element through each of the five stages of a networker.

STAGE 1 NETWORKER:

They’ve heard that networking is a good way to go, but they’re extremely skeptical. In most cases, they want networking to work for them, but many times they’re not prepared to give it the initial time investment required for it to work.

STAGE 2 NETWORKER:

They also feel that networking can help them, but they still need to see results before they’re a true believer in split business.

STAGE 3 NETWORKER:

These recruiters know that networking should be a steady percentage of their business. In addition, they know split business can make a good year a great year and a bad year survivable.

STAGE 4 NETWORKER:

They have the frame of mind that split business is a percentage of their business that is no longer optional. They expect split placements and work to make them happen.

STAGE 5 NETWORKER:

Not only do they take their split business very seriously, but they also even enjoy splitting. They’re good at it, and they like it!

What is YOUR networking mindset as a Top Echelon recruiter?

In my next blog post in this series, I’ll examine the essential element of Trust, which also happens to be one of The Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network.

If you have any questions about your split network membership, please contact me by calling 330.595.1742 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

At Top Echelon Network, we want YOU to make more placements.

We want you to make more money. We want you to grow your business. We want you to be successful.

Your success is behind everything we do, because if you’re not successful, then we’re not successful. You can’t have one and not the other.

With that in mind, I’d like to once again stress the importance of attending the Virtual Core Group (VCG) meetings once a month. With the pandemic, we’ve all become accustomed to participating in online meetings with regularity, so this should be no stretch for anybody.

The difference is that you can make money as a direct result of these meetings. It’s happened countless times in the past. I’ve seen it happen. It’s going to happen again, and I want you to be one of the beneficiaries.

How do these meetings work?

Top Echelon Network recruiters share the following during these industry-specific Virtual Core Group meetings:

  • Hot job orders and candidates
  • Information about the activity they’re seeing
  • Ideas for increased production on their desks and within their agencies

These are the activities that lead most directly to making more split placements in the Network. Teleconference calls DO result in placements, just like attending recruiter networking events like the upcoming Top Echelon Connect Fall 2022 event in Chicago.

You can view the monthly schedule for VCG teleconference calls in the Network Dashboard. But as you can see, below is the full Virtual Core Group teleconference call schedule for October (all times listed are Eastern Time):

Wednesday, October 12:

  • 1:30 p.m., ET – Manufacturing/Engineering
  • 2:30 p.m., ET – Information Technology
  • 3:30 p.m., ET – Biotech/Pharma/Med Device

Thursday, October 13

  • 1:30 p.m., ET – Architectural/Engineering/Construction
  • 3:30 p.m., ET – Accounting/Finance

Meeting Format:

  • Attendee roll call
  • A brief discussion of recruiting-related topics that will allow attendees to share and learn from one another.
  • Brief Q&A on the Network software
  • Sharing of jobs. (Jobs must be advertised to the Network prior to the meeting). Members will share their hottest jobs and discuss the details with the attendees as their jobs are shared on the screen.

If you have problems with audio on your computer, dial +1 641-569-8534 and enter this PIN: 709 466 207#.

I’ve been doing this a long time. I know what works and what doesn’t work. Virtual Core Group meetings work, and I want them to work for YOU.

If you don’t see your industry represented above, contact me about starting a new VCG Core Group.

You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.
