It would be difficult to match the level of success in Top Echelon’s recruiter network that Keith Cornelison of Personnel Resources has enjoyed since joining TE.

Cornelison and Personnel Resources joined the Network in December of 2016. That means he’s been a member for less than two years. Despite that fact, Keith has made 18 split placements during that time.

He made nine splits in 2017, and he’s already made nine this year. At his current rate of production, he’ll make 18 TE splits by the end of 2018.

And that, in a nutshell, is why Keith Cornelison is Recruiter of the Week in Top Echelon Network!

Keith Cornelison: in his words

However, we wanted Keith to say a few words about the impressive success that he’s enjoyed so far in TE. This is what he had to say:

“I think this is one of the best things I’ve ever done as a business person. I appreciate [Drea Codispoti] keeping with me to join up. I have met some really good people, and although a couple we have not connected with a split yet, I hope to do so soon.

“[Membership] has freed me up to do what I enjoy and utilize my strength in creating more openings, as I don’t spend time recruiting candidates and don’t have to hire researchers. This has also allowed me to help my client facilities in a more timely manner, more than I could do by myself. This, in turn, has helped create repeat customers. Hopefully, this continues for the next several years and it grows even more.

“I appreciate everyone I have worked with and hope for continued success!”

We also wanted to highlight one of the placements that Keith has made recently. In this particular instance, a split recruiting partner submitted a candidate to him. While that candidate was not a fit for the position for which they were submitted, Keith ended up placing the candidate in another position with his client.

So congratulations to Keith for that placement, all 18 of his TE placements, and for being named Recruiter of the Week!

Every once in a while, somebody comes close to knocking Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group off his “Recruiter of the Month” perch. Usually, that somebody is Steve Kohn of Affinity Executive Search.

That was once again the case in June. That’s because while Trey won the award yet again with 11 split placements, Steve was right on his heels with nine splits. (In fact, Steve actually beat Trey in terms of cash-in collars for the month.)

Top TE producers: new faces

We do have a couple of new faces in terms of top TE producers, though. They include Michael Agen of New Solutions Group, LLC and Juanita Smith of the Executive Group.

Michael Agen of New Solutions Group, LLC

Michael Agen

We’ve highlighted Michael before when he earned Recruiter of the Week honors. However, he’s continued his hot streak. In fact, he’s accelerated it.

Michael has made 17 splits in TE through the first six months of 2018. If he continues at that pace and all of those deals close, that would give him 34 for the year. That would also put him in elite company within our recruiting network.

As it is, Michael recently cracked the top 12 in terms of cash-in during the past 12 months. More than likely, he’ll be moving up the list of top TE producers in the coming weeks.

Juanita, meanwhile, has made two splits this year, both of which closed during the month of June. Once you make one TE split, it becomes easier to make more. Juanita appears poised to string together multiple deals and continue leveraging the value of the Network.

Although, of course, it will be difficult for her (or anybody else) to catch Trey.

Congratulations to everybody on the list below! And congratulations to everybody who made Top Echelon placements during the month of June!

Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its split recruiting awards based upon two criteria, which are listed below in order of importance:

1.) The number of split placements made
2.) The amount of “cash-in” dollars earned as a result of those split placements

This explains why, when multiple recruiters are tied with the same number of TE placements during a given month or quarter, the recruiter with the largest “cash-in” total is ultimately deemed the winner.

We’ve already announced the dates for the 2018 Top Echelon Fall Conference. Now we’re back to announce that the preliminary agenda has been released. And we also have a compelling case study that illustrates the value of attending our recruiter networking events.

This case study involves TE member Steve Zollner of The Sunridge Group. You might recognize Steve, since he was Recruiter of the Week in the Network earlier this year. Here’s Steve’s story.

The Sunridge Group joined Top Echelon Network on May 2, 2016. So Steve has been a member for a little over two years. After making three split placements in the Network in 2016, he made two TE splits the following year.

Case study in 5, 4, 3 . . .

However, it was what Steve did near the end of 2017 that made a big difference in his 2018 production. That’s because he attended the 2017 Top Echelon Fall Conference. At that event, he met many other members and started to build relationships with them.

Two of those members were David M. Sgro, CPC of True North Consultants, Inc. and Mary Morris of Big Haystack. As you can see below, Steve recently made his first split with both of them!

So far this year, Steve has made eight placements in the Network. And it appears as though 13 is Steve’s lucky number. That’s because he’s made 13 career splits in TE, and he’s also ranked #13 in the current Network rankings.

Did attendance at the 2017 Fall Conference help Steve’s production in Top Echelon’s recruiter network? You’re darned right it did. And you’re darned right if you think it can help YOU, too.

So view the agenda for this year’s Fall Conference. And register for the conference, while you’re at it. You can do both in the Members’ Area. Join us in Chicago, make new friends, build trading partner relationships, and make split placements!

The only thing better than a Top Echelon member making their first Network split is a Top Echelon member making their first Network split with another member who is also making their first Network split.

Did you follow that? Yes? Good! Then the rest of this blog post will make sense.

That’s because we have just such a scenario in this week’s installment of split placements. Namely, Kimberly Parker of Parkerpower Corporation made her first Network split. And she made that split with Meg Burvainis of the Executive Group, who also made her first split in Top Echelon’s recruiting network.

An exciting Network split

This is exciting for a couple of reasons. First, we like to see members hit pay dirt in the Network by making their first deal. Second, the members in question are invariably happy to be hitting pay dirt in the form of a placement fee. (After all, who doesn’t like placement fees? They’re as likeable as puppies.)

Anyway, Kimberly and Meg’s placement is one of many in Top Echelon Network this week. As you can see below, many other members also made placements. And although they may not represent their first Network split, I’m willing to bet that they’re no less excited about cashing their portion of the placement check!

There used to be an old stigma attached to contract work. That stigma is this: it’s a last resort, the job you take when you can’t find full-time work. As a result, it was often difficult for recruiters to sell contracting to candidates.

But that is NOT the case in today’s business environment. In fact, there are many situations in which candidates actually choose contract work. That’s because it provides opportunities they’ve been unable to find in regular, full-time jobs.

Sell contracting = make placements

As a recruiter, you may find yourself in a position where you have a contract job order that you’re trying to fill. As a result, you may also find yourself in a position where you’re touting the advantages of working on contract.

If that’s the case, here are four quick ways to sell contracting to candidates:

#1—Contract work is now high-end.

Contract assignments and contract jobs have evolved over the years. Nearly every industry is hiring contractors in positions up to and including C-suite level executives.

#2—You can enhance your resume more quickly.

Not only can candidates update their resume with a high-end contract position, but they can also update it with great experiences. And it doesn’t stop there! Candidates can network with more people and make more connections, positioning themselves for even greater career advancement.

#3—You can have access to traditional benefits.

Candidates who work on contract and are the W-2 employees of a recruitment back office provider like Top Echelon don’t have to worry about purchasing their own benefits. For example, Top Echelon offers several healthcare plans, vision and dental coverage, and life insurance.

#4—You can be eligible for unemployment benefits.

In most cases, contractors are eligible for unemployment after their contract assignment ends. This takes some of the risk out of opting for a more satisfying contract position instead of full-time work.

Are you helping the competition?

More employers than ever are turning to contract workers. They want a flexible workforce to complete projects and meet deadlines.

Your clients are likely hiring contract candidates. And if you’re not helping them hire those candidates, then your competition might be helping them instead.
