Congratulations to Michael Haydon of Personnel Services Unlimited and Adam Neumann of New Talent, as Michael and Adam can boast of the largest split placement fee of the week in Top Echelon Network!

Michael and Adam placed a CEO of Operations to earn a $36,000 recruiting fee at 18%.

However, it was a close race. That’s because Christopher Castanias of Accelerated Search Partners, Inc. and Maggie Wolgamot of Ridgeback Management Services, LLC generated a fee of $35,000. Christopher and Maggie earned that fee by placing a Tax Partner at 20%.

I would also be remiss if I did not mention that there is somebody who made their first Network split placement recently! That somebody is Meir Glezerman of Ortek Management Recruiters, who placed a Director of Nursing with Keith Cornelison of Personnel Resources.

As a friendly neighborhood reminder, here is the information that we publish with our weekly placements:

  • Names of the split recruiting partners involved (with their profile photos, when available)
  • Job title
  • Overall placement fee (before TE’s 6% brokerage fee, of course)
  • Fee percentage

Please note that the placements listed below reflect deals finalized in Top Echelon Network for the period from February 5 through February 18, 2024.

Remember, if you don’t want information related to your Network placements published in The Pinnacle, please send an email to to that effect.

Congratulations to everybody below for the split placements they made in Top Echelon Network!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we must unfortunately announce that Danny Cahill will not be able to be part of the Top Echelon Connect 2024 event in May at the Tradewinds Hotel in St. Petersburg.

Danny is extremely sorry that he must cancel, as the situation is unavoidable. We are eager to invite him to another TE Connect event in the near future.

With that in mind, we are also pleased to announce that renowned recruiting industry trainer Scott Love is now our keynote speaker for Connect 2024!

Scott has trained thousands of professional recruiters and search consultants over the years—including at multiple Top Echelon events—and his insight and expertise translate into actionable strategies and techniques that you can implement on your recruiting desk immediately!

Scott’s new training company is called The Placement Club, and its focus is to help you make the most of your recruiting efforts to maximize your productivity.

And in case you’re wondering, yes, Early Bird Registration for Connect 2024 is still available!

The Early Bird period will remain in effect through Thursday, February 28. The price of Early Bird Registration is $595 per person.

So you should sign up today and save $100!

Below is some important logistical information regarding the upcoming convention:

  • Dates: Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3
  • Location: Tradewinds Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida
  • Room Rate: $229 per night
  • Main speaker: Scott Love

As we’ve done for our past several recruiter networking events, we have a special website dedicated to Top Echelon Connect 2024.

The URL for that website is In the meantime . . .

We recently told you about our Product Updates Page, and I hope that you’ve checked it out to see what’s new with our recruiting software and what’s on the horizon.

This week, I’d like to remind you that we offer training, both about the Top Echelon split network and also about our applicant tracking software.

However, let’s start with the Network, since The Pinnacle IS a Top Echelon Network publication. The Network training is a weekly session focused on sharing jobs, sharing candidates, and best practices within Top Echelon Network. This session is especially recommended for newer Network members, but more tenured members can certainly attend.

(Note: Non-members, incidentally, are not allowed to attend this training session. Once identified, they will be removed from the session.)

The Network training session is held every Friday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., Eastern Time. (With the exception of holidays, of course.)

Click THIS link to sign up for the weekly Network training session.

River Kale

Once you click the link, you will browse to the Calendly schedule of Top Echelon Network Success Specialist River Kale. Once there, you will be prompted to select your preferred Friday for attending the training. After you select the day, click the 3:00 p.m. box in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

The ATS training, on the other hand, is not a weekly session, but is individualized in nature.

That’s because Top Echelon Recruiting Software customers have access to free one-on-one training sessions with one of our live specialists. If you have any specific questions on features, workflows, or other items within the ATS, you’re welcome to contact us at to get scheduled with your training specialist.

If you have multiple users at your firm, we recommend scheduling a single training session for the group to make the best use of the time allotted.

If you have any questions about these training sessions, send an email to We also invite you to visit the Top Echelon Help Center.

We want you to be as knowledgeable as possible about Top Echelon’s products and services. That’s because we want to help you make more placements.

A lot of things have changed in the world since we began this journey in 1988, but one thing has never changed: we don’t succeed unless YOU do!

There are 2,000 job orders in Top Echelon’s recruiting network. And since there are 2,000 job orders and many Network members who are eager to work these jobs, I thought it would be prudent to review some best practices for working a job in TE.

So that is exactly what I will doing, starting with this—the first in a series of blog posts regarding the topic.

And I’m going to start where it makes the most sense: the beginning. Here are the first three protocols for working a job in Top echelon Network:

#1Read the Network recruiting instructions.

This is where the job recruiter will tell you things that you need to know and of which you need to be aware. More specifically, these are things that you need to know before you read the rest of the description and call them.

The job recruiter put that information there for both their benefit and your benefit. They don’t really have the time to explain the things that are listed in this field. When you follow this step, it helps everybody become more efficient and effective in the call to work the job.

#2Evaluate the job.

Ask yourself if the job is in your area of expertise or in an area in which you are capable of recruiting. You are asking this question for a simple reason. You do not want to engage with the job order recruiter and ask them to teach you how to recruit in their space.

They are not going to want to do that, and I certainly do not blame them. Nobody has time to waste.

#3Check your inventory.

If you use Top Echelon’s recruiting software, run a search to see what’s in your inventory. That way, when you call the job order recruiter, you can tell them that you have X number of candidates to whom you can market this job as one of your stages of recruiting for the position.

These are all steps that you should take before you call the job order recruiter. As you might have already guessed, there are also protocols involved for when you make that call, and I will address those in the next blog post in this important series.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about this blog post or if you want to be more successful in the Network right NOW, then please contact me.

You can do so by calling 330.595.1742 or by sending an email to

Top Echelon offers a free monthly webinar as part of its Expert Recruiter Coaching Series.

These webinars touch upon a variety of recruiter-related topics. These topics deal with both job candidates and clients. As always, our goal with these webinars is to help professional recruiters and executive search consultants just like YOU make more placements.

We record these webinars for recruiters who can’t attend the live presentation, and we’re now pleased to offer the video from our most recent webinar by Barb Bruno, CPC/CTS of Good as Gold Training.

The title of that webinar (and corresponding training video) is “Who You Know, Not What You Know, Might Matter More.”

Below is the official description for this training video:

— — —

Who you know might be just as important as what you know when it comes to consistently increasing your production and income as a recruiter. You are in a relationship-building profession, where it’s all about forming relationships, not collecting—or neglecting—contacts.

LinkedIn is not about competing to have the most connections. It’s about how well you know, nurture, engage, and influence your network so that each year you experience a greater level of success. Once you’ve been in this profession for 18 months, at least 40% of your clients and candidates should be referrals.

If that is not your reality, then the next webinar video in Top Echelon’s Expert Recruiter Coaching Series is specifically for you! During this FREE and information-packed video, training guru Barb Bruno, CPC/CTS of Good as Gold Training will address how to:

  • Establish a valuable network
  • Successfully engage members of your network
  • Establish influence on LinkedIn
  • Go from average production to “big biller” status by increasing referrals
  • Make your life and job easier with each passing year

So watch and listen to Barb on this training video and discover why “Who You Know, Not What You Know, Might Matter More”!
