Regardless of what may or may not happen with the Top Echelon National Convention in 2021, I’m pleased to announce that there will be another Ohio Regional Core Group meeting soon.

In fact, that meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 15! (Because, of course, not being able to meet your Network trading partners in person has been taxing. Sorry, I could not resist.)

As was the case with our most recent Ohio Regional Core Group meeting this past November, the location for this upcoming event is Gervasi Vineyard in Canton.

Below is other logistical information related to the event:

Time: 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost: $50 per person (limit of 24 attendees)

As you can see, there is limited availability in terms of the number of members who can attend this meeting. In addition, please keep in mind that we will be observing all Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and protocols regarding the coronavirus, as will the employees and staff at Gervasi. So I kindly ask that attendees also observe all appropriate protocols.

At Top Echelon, we want our Network Members to enjoy more success. And by more success, we mean more placements.

And because I like cake almost as much as life itself, I’m going to use that as our analogy. In other words, we’re going to build a Network “success cake” with this blog post. Layer upon layer of sugary, frosting-filled placement check goodness (complete with a secret ingredient).

Sound good? Great! Let’s get started. Below is a four-step blueprint for success in our recruiter network:

#1—Quality candidates

This is where it all starts. Quality candidates are in short supply in today’s marketplace, regardless of the pandemic and despite the current state of the economy.

BUT that’s where your split recruiting partners enter the picture. They can provide the type of candidates that your clients are seeking—and want to hire!

#2—Quality screening of those candidates

Quality candidates are just the beginning. You must also screen those candidates thoroughly.

That way, the candidates that you present to your split partners are as close to a fit as possible. This represents layer upon layer of quality . . . in our cake.

#3—Quality prepping of those candidates

Add another layer to the quality cake!

Once your client wants to start interviewing candidates, your split partners will prep them completely. This further increases the chances of making the placement.


Effective branding isn’t what you say you’re going to do . . . it’s what you actually do.

And when you act with quality throughout the entire recruiting process and that quality leads directly to making placements, then you’ve branded yourself as somebody who instills confidence in your partners.

So what’s the “secret ingredient”? Quality, of course. Quality happens to be one of The Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network.

How much money did you bill through Top Echelon’s recruiting network in 2020? Who were your top trading partners during the year?

Whoa, whoa . . . I know. One question at a time. But first, a little back-story on these questions.

Based on past Network polls and surveys, the “sweet spot” for TE members when it comes to billing through the Network has been anywhere from $10K to $50K per year. In other words, approximately 50% of the TE members who responded to our polls and surveys billed that much through the Network on an annual basis.

Okay, now back to our questions . . .

How much did YOU bill through our split fee recruiting network in 2020? Do you want to bill more through the Network? (Don’t be silly. Of course you do.)

To do so, there are some questions that you should ask. Which questions? I’m glad you asked!

Below are 6 questions for identifying your top trading partners:

1. If you made multiple split placements in 2020, with which trading partners did you make the most splits?

2. If you didn’t make any split placements this year, did you come close, and with which trading partners did you do so?

3. With which trading partners did you enjoy working the most?

4. With which trading partners do you have the most in common?

5. Which of your trading partners work their desk in a similar fashion as you?

6. Which of your trading partners adheres most closely to The Four Pillars of Top Echelon NetworkQuality, Communication, Trust, and Active Participation?

Once you’ve identified your top split recruiting partners for 2021, put together a plan for working with them more consistently and more efficiently.

Because they could very well hold the key to helping you enjoy your best year ever in Top Echelon Network!
