Some recruiters who join Top Echelon Network are not exactly what you would call “split-minded” before becoming a TE member. For them, there is sometimes a rocky transition, even if they eventually enjoy a measure of success.

Other new members, though, are completely open to split placements, and as a result, they often enjoy success more quickly.

Sara Alexandroff of Sterling St. James, LLC

Sara Alexandroff

You can put Sara Alexandroff of Sterling St. James, LLC in the latter category.

Sara started recruiting as an independent search consultant in 2012, and she made 175 split placements prior to joining Sterling St. James. As a generalist, she’s filled roles in Manufacturing, Engineering, Healthcare, Accounting & Finance, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Pharma, and Agriculture, among others.

As an independent recruiter for a decade, Sara joined Top Echelon hoping to expand her network and make more splits.

“I’m always looking for other recruiters to do splits with, and [the Network] seemed user-friendly, similar to social media in that I can connect with partners and work with them,” she said.

Sara is an exporter of candidates, and she found that focusing on candidates in Top Echelon was a perfect complement to the way in which she likes to run her desk.

“I’ve had a lot of success advertising, but with the amount of time I spend focused on that, it doesn’t leave a lot of time to cultivate client relationships,” she said. “I prefer to work on the candidate side of things, so finding recruiters to work with who prefer the client side seemed like a perfect solution.”

And it has been the perfect solution for Sara, who’s made 15 split placements in Top Echelon during the past year. As of the publishing of this blog post, she is 31st overall in the Network in terms of cash-in generated during the past 12 months.

According to Sara, below are four additional takeaways that have been instrumental to her success as a member of Top Echelon Network:

#1—She can maximize her time and productivity on her desk.

Sara indicated that Network membership has transformed her recruiting desk in a good way, helping her to do more of what she wants to do and less of what she doesn’t need to.

“It’s been huge for my business,” she said. “I’m free to focus on what I’m good at—getting quality candidates—and not waste my time chasing the client side.”

This focus is one of the things that makes her a quality split recruiting partner in the Network. While she is working the candidate side of the placement process, her trading partners are free to do what is necessary with their clients to ensure the best results possible.

“I free up your time to manage your clients by getting you good candidates, interviewing them, putting together presentations, reference checks, etc.,” she said.

#2—Network recruiters have been responsive.

Sara likened Top Echelon Network membership to social media before joining. However, since becoming a member, she has realized that the Network is more welcoming than the users of a social media platform. That’s made her experience in TE even better.

“Unlike with social media, everyone is nice and people actually pick up the phone and call you,” she said. “I didn’t expect to meet so many partners so quickly.”

#3—Working with vetted partners is beneficial.

Not only have Sara’s trading partners been responsive, but the overall quality of the Network’s recruiters has also helped her to embrace one of The Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network: Trust.

“I’ve been working with some top-notch recruiters who I otherwise may not have trusted to really put my resources and time into if it wasn’t for knowing they’d been vetted by TE,” she said. “It’s been wonderful to be able to work with new partners without the risk that things won’t pan out the way that they should.”

#4—Drea Codispoti is a ‘split placement sherpa.’

Drea is the Director of Network Operations at Top Echelon, having been with the company for nearly 20 years. According to Sara, he knows the Network inside and out, and his experience and expertise are valuable resources for new members trying to find trading partners.

“Speak to Drea,” said Sara. “He knows what he’s doing and will connect you with the right partners for how you do business.”

Being “split-minded” before joining Top Echelon Network is not a prerequisite for success. Neither is making 175 splits prior to becoming a Network member.

But as Sara Alexandroff has shown, it certainly doesn’t hurt.

When you make 29 split placements in a month, chances are good that some of them will come with hefty recruiting fees.

And that was the case with Michael Stuck of Gables Search Group in June. Two of the 29 Network placement fees he helped to generate are among the top five largest split fees of the month. In fact, one of them is the Largest Split Fee of the Month!

Michael made this placement with Scott Szur of The Harrison Group, LLC. Michael and Scott placed a Sr. Director of Regulatory CMC for a fee of $62,500 at 25%.

As a reminder, Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its Network split fee recruiting awards in four distinct categories:

1.) Recruiter of the Month
2.) Largest Split Fee of the Month
3.) Recruiter of the Quarter
4.) Largest Split Fee of the Quarter

We only announce the winners of these awards in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog. We do so usually (but not always) in the issue following the conclusion of each month and/or quarter.

So congratulations to everybody on the list below for scoring some BIG placement fees during the month of June!

Question: Can you average one split placement per day in Top Echelon Network?

Answer: That depends upon on how many days were talking about. (I know, that answer is a cop-out.)

Regardless of the parameters you use, Michael Stuck of Gables Search Group closed 29 Network splits during June to total nearly $200K. Since there are 30 days during that month, he nearly averaged one Network split per day.

Due to his prowess in June, Michael is the Recruiter of the Month in Top Echelon Network!

And, as you can see below, he had plenty of company. That company included Trey Cameron of the Cameron Craig Group, who is attempting to dethrone Michael from the top spot in the Network. Trey closed 18 splits during the month, also generating a hefty chunk of change ($135K).

It remains to be seen if Trey will be able to overtake Michael during the second half of the year. However, if Michael has more months like the one he had in June, it will be a difficult task.

Below is the information that we include with the Recruiters of the Month feature in Top Echelon Network:

  1. The top 10 recruiters for the month.
  2. The “cash-in” total for each recruiter during the month. (We base the order of the recruiters on their amount of “cash-in” dollars, as opposed to the number of split placements they made.)
  3. The number of splits that the recruiters made during the month.
  4. The date that each recruiter’s agency joined Top Echelon Network.
  5. The number of splits each recruiter has made during their Network career.
  6. Each recruiter’s cash-in total for their Network career.

With this format, there are more than likely going to be ties among recruiters, especially with those members who have made split placements with each other.

Congratulations to the recruiters listed below . . . and congratulations to every Network member who made a split placement (or multiple splits) during the month of June!

As always, we love to see new recruiting agencies and search consultants in the Network. These are potential new trading partners for existing members. You could make split placements with this month’s new members!

With that in mind, I encourage you to look over the list of new members below. And of course, reach out to any one of them (or more) if you believe that you can make placements together.

We at Top Echelon run the names of recruiting agencies applying for membership in the Network Dashboard section of the Top Echelon software. We list the names of new Network agencies, as well.

However, we also list our new members in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog. This list typically includes the:

  • Name of the agency
  • Industries and/or specialties in which the agency operates
  • Names of the recruiters working at the agency
  • Geographic location of the agency

So I’d like to take this moment to congratulate the agencies listed below. I also welcome them to the membership and I look forward to helping them make splits in the Network!

(If you have any questions about reaching out to new members or about your split recruiting membership in general, please contact me. My contact information is listed at the end of this blog post.)

July is a big month for anniversaries in Top Echelon Network! In fact, it’s bigger for two agencies than for others.

That’s because those two agencies are both celebrating 30-year anniversaries in the Network!

They are Corporate Resources, LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio, and H.T. PROF Executive Search in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. (Please note that the latter agency recently changed its name from Southeast-Recruiters/Bio-Partners Search Group).

Congratulations is also in order for Steve Kohn, as Affinity Executive Search is celebrating its 29th Network anniversary this month.

When recognizing Network agencies for their anniversaries, Top Echelon includes the name of the agency; the length of the anniversary; and the location of the agency, including the city and state.

So congratulations to all of the agencies celebrating anniversaries in our split fee recruiting network during the month of July!
