Few recruiters have blazed a trail after joining Top Echelon’s recruiting network like Melissa Truax of Premier Health Careers, Inc./Premier Paths.

Melissa joined the Network on January 10, 2014. That’s only about three and half years ago. Since that time, she has been on a tear. In fact, she’s made 44 placements since joining. Not only that, but she also currently sits fourth on TE’s top 10 list. Melissa is the epitome of the phrase, “Kicking butt and taking names.”

That, in a nutshell, is why we’re naming Melissa the Recruiter of the Week! However, there are other, more specific reasons:

#1 — Melissa Truax is a quick study.

As mentioned, Melissa joined Top Echelon in January of 2014. She wasted absolutely no time in leveraging the Network’s resources, making seven split placements in TE that year. Her production has increased every year since.

#2 — She produces at a HIGH level.

After making seven split placements in TE during 2014, she made 10 Network placements in 2015. Then in 2016, she made 20 placements! So far this year, she’s made seven splits. Can she eclipse her production of a year ago?

#3 — She makes contract placements.

Melissa doesn’t just make split placements in Top Echelon Network. She also makes contract placements, using Top Echelon Contracting’s recruitment back office. It’s entirely possible that Melissa could join the elite group of recruiters who are top producers in Top Echelon in terms of both split AND contract placements.

#4 — She loves her split fee recruiting partners.

All you need to do is glance at the comments listed below to see how much Melissa loves her split partners. She enjoys working with them, and she expresses her gratitude by praising them for help and hard work during the placement process. Melissa is excited about making splits, and her enthusiasm is contagious.

So congratulations to Melissa Truax, top 5 producer and Recruiter of the Week in Top Echelon Network!

This week’s “Power of the Network” blog post is a double-shot of value. That’s because there are two parts to it. (Duh.) The first has to do with the time frame involved with the placement. The second has to do with job orders.

In this particular instance, the placement process was FAST. It was less than two weeks, from start to finish! Second, the placement resulted in more job orders for the job order recruiter.

Tried and true formula for job orders

That’s because the recruiter’s client was impressed with both the quality of the candidate and how quickly they were able to hire that candidate. So a happy client = more job orders. Recruiters know that this is a tried and true formula for ongoing success.

This is the definition of a perpetual motion machine: “A machine that can continue to do work indefinitely without drawing energy from some external source.”

In other words, a perpetual motion machine is just what it sounds like. It’s a machine that’s perpetually, or always, in motion.

When you do what is necessary, your membership in Top Echelon Network can be like a perpetual value machine. That’s because there’s not a single point of value. One point leads to another point, which in turns leads to another point. Such as this:

  • Your trading partner provides a candidate you could not source on your own.
  • Your client likes the candidate so much that they make an offer almost immediately.
  • The candidate accepts, resulting in a two-week process overall.
  • Your client is so impressed that they give you more job orders.

That’s value, perpetually in motion. More placements. Faster placements. More job orders. Greater revenue. Perhaps that, more than anything else, sums up the value of Top Echelon’s recruiting network.

We recently polled members of Top Echelon’s recruiting network (that would be YOU) about job order flow. Now we’re going to take things a step further. Specifically, we want to know how hot the activity level is on your desk.

It makes sense. We’re at the halfway point of the year. It’s July. And of course, it’s as “hot as the dickens” outside, and I have no idea what that actually means.

But we couldn’t just ask recruiters if their desk is hot or not. That’s a pretty lame poll question. No, we needed something more. We needed a set of qualifiers. A range of hotness (or notness), so to speak.

So, without further adieu, this is the question that we posed to the membership:

On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being the hottest), how hot is the activity on your desk right now?

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of Top Echelon split network recruiters that selected each one:

  • One (1) — 10.7%
  • Two (2) — 18.0%
  • Three (3) — 32.0%
  • Four (4) — 26.2%
  • Five (5) — 13.1%

Hot by various degrees

So . . . let’s start with the most popular answer in our poll. That answer was “3.” Nearly a third of poll participants (32.0%) chose that answer.

That’s a relatively safe “middle of the road” response. Once again, not too hot. Not too cold. Just right. More “Goldilocks recruiting.”

What’s interesting, though, is that nearly the same number of recruiters chose “4” as their answer. That selection registered 26.2% of the vote.

And who is the hottest of the hot? The 13.1% of recruiters who claim their recruiting desk is a “5.” That means their desk could NOT get any hotter.

Here’s the good news: a total of 71.3% of our split fee recruiting network members stated that their desk is hot at a level of three or higher. That leaves just 29.7% that indicated their desk is only a “1” or a “2.”

Conclusion: the vast majority of Network recruiters are enjoying a good year on their desk. Some, in fact, are enjoying a great year.

Will there ever be a time when 100% of TE recruiters are either a “4” or “5” in terms of the hotness of their desk? Probably not, but in the wild and wacky world of recruiting, it sometimes appears that anything is possible.

Last week in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, we discussed how first placements in Top Echelon’s recruiter network are a thing of beauty. This week, we’re addressing how first placements become repeat placements.

Because as we said, where there’s one placement . . . there’s more.

Putting the money machine on repeat

Dan Trudeau of The PRA Group and Diva Milani of Tuscany Enterprises have made four placements together. Of course, they couldn’t make repeat placements until they made their first one. When did they make their first one? March 6 of this year.

So with some simple math, we can deduce that they’ve closed four deals in less than four months!

Nick Stoia, CPC of ASAP Search & Recruiters and Joe Miglizzi, CPC of Perspective have made seven placements together. Now, they didn’t make those seven in the same short time span as Trudeau and Milani.

However, they did make their last two placements within three weeks of one another!

Here’s the thing. When you build a strong trading partner relationship with another recruiter, multiple placements can follow. And they can follow very quickly.

If you’re looking to make more split placements more quickly in TE, then contact Top Echelon Director of Network Operations Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.
