Second Quarter Statistics: Manufacturing and Engineering Rule!

Top Echelon President Mark DemareeFor a while, IT/Information Systems/Data Processing made a run at replacing Industry and Manufacturing as the number-one discipline in Top Echelon Network . . . at least as far as the number of placements made was concerned.

That didn’t happen, but now it looks as though Engineering is making a run at Manufacturing.

According to the Network’s second quarter statistics, those two disciplines are one-two in terms of placements.  Manufacturing accounted for 27.1% of placements during the 12-month cycle ending on June 30, while Engineering posted a percentage of 24.0%.

Behind those two are the following disciplines:

  • IT/Information Systems/Data Processing—12.0%
  • Sales and Marketing—10.2%
  • Accounting—8.4%
  • Healthcare—6.2%

Below are Network statistics for the second quarter, including percentages for job orders, candidates, and placements in relation to the major disciplines.
