Let’s be honest: the word “uncertainty” is still hanging in the air.

Top Echelon President Mark Demaree

Mark Demaree

Whether you’re watching the news, listening to clients, or just trying to make sense of your desk each day, it’s clear we’re in a complicated moment. The economy has sent mixed signals. Some industries are pulling back. Others are moving forward, but cautiously.

Depending upon your niche, it might feel like you’re either catching momentum—or paddling hard just to stay afloat.

But even with all of that, I believe we have some very real reasons for optimism.

Network Activity Is on the Rise

Over the past month and a half, we’ve seen an encouraging trend inside TE Network. Membership is growing again, and just as importantly, split placements are on the rise.

That means recruiters are doing what they do best: they’re finding opportunities, building partnerships, and making placements—even in the face of economic headwinds.

They’re leaning into collaboration, and it’s paying off.

The power of the Network model is showing up in a big way, and it’s clear that working together still wins in this business.

Job Openings in the Network Remain Steady

Even amid broader uncertainty, here’s something worth spotlighting: jobs posted within the Network have remained steady over the past several months.

That’s not something to take lightly.

When clients are pulling back or pressing pause, job flow is usually one of the first things to reflect that. But the fact that we’re seeing consistent job numbers means recruiters are maintaining strong relationships, providing value, and continuing to earn trust with employers.

It also signals that while the pace of hiring may have slowed in some sectors, there’s still meaningful demand for talent across the board. Roles still need to be filled. Searches still need to be closed.

And the right recruiters—especially those plugged into a collaborative network—are making it happen.

Many Industries Still Have Strong Hiring Needs

It’s true that hiring has cooled off in a few pockets of the economy, but let’s not miss the full picture. Plenty of industries are still hiring. Plenty of companies are still growing. And plenty of hard-to-fill positions still need recruiters who can deliver.

Whether it’s Healthcare, Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, or other specialized fields, employers are continuing to turn to recruiting partners to help them compete for top talent.

The bottom line? The need for experienced, relationship-driven recruiters hasn’t gone away. If anything, it’s more important now than ever.

Momentum from TE Connect Spring 2025

If you were in Nashville with us for TE Connect Spring 2025, you felt it.

The energy. The connection. The momentum.

We brought together some of the most engaged and driven recruiters in the industry, and the result was more than just a successful event—it was a spark. From best practices to our “Lightning Rounds” and “Business-Building Discussion Groups,” the exchange of ideas was powerful. And the relationships built in those rooms are already turning into results back at the desk.

It was a reminder of what’s possible when people come together with a shared mindset: one of collaboration, trust, and growth.

Keep Going, Keep Connecting

Look, we know this business isn’t easy—even in the best of times. And these days, you might be navigating longer hiring cycles, more client hesitation, or tighter competition.

But here’s the good news: the signs of life are real.

Split activity is up. Job flow is steady. Network collaboration is gaining steam. And momentum is building.

So if you’re feeling stuck, lean into the tools and relationships around you. Reach out. Ask for help. Offer help. Share your jobs. Work your candidates. And trust that the effort adds up.

Because in Top Echelon Network, you’re not going it alone.

Let’s keep that momentum going—and here’s to a strong Q2!

We’re excited to officially announce the release of Sequencing, a brand-new feature now available in the Professional Tier of TE Recruit™!

With Sequencing, recruiters can now automate personalized outreach at scale, streamline follow-ups, and ensure no prospect or candidate slips through the cracks.

If you’ve ever caught yourself wondering “Did I follow up with that candidate?” or “How can I get more responses without spending more time?”—Sequencing is your answer.

What is Sequencing?

Sequencing is a powerful outreach automation tool built into TE Recruit that allows you to create multi-step workflows of emails, calls, and tasks, delivered with customizable delays and logic. Whether you’re sourcing candidates, doing business development, or nurturing long-term relationships, Sequencing helps you stay consistent, timely, and relevant—without manually managing every touchpoint.

With just a few clicks, you can enroll contacts into a tailored outreach journey that does the heavy lifting for you. The result? More engagement, more conversations, and more placements—without adding hours to your workday.

Why Sequencing Matters

Recruiting is all about timing, consistency, and connection—and that’s exactly where Sequencing delivers. Here’s how it transforms your workflow:

  • Automate personalized candidate follow-ups at scale.
  • Create structured, reusable outreach plans for you and your team.
  • Eliminate manual follow-ups and reduce mental overhead.
  • Reach talent faster and more consistently.
  • Increase candidate and client engagement across multiple channels.
  • Improve response rates with timely, relevant touchpoints.
  • Save an average of 4+ hours per recruiter each week.

With Sequencing, you can focus on closing placements—not writing repetitive emails or tracking who needs a follow-up.

Built for Real Recruiting Scenarios

Sequencing isn’t just a shiny new feature—it’s built for how recruiters actually work. Here are some of the ways you can use it today:

Candidate Sourcing

Set up an automated outreach plan for new candidates tied to a job order. Schedule emails, follow-up tasks, and phone calls that go out automatically based upon delays you control.

Business Development Campaigns

Looking to grow your client base? Use Sequencing to run outbound campaigns promoting your services. Send a series of emails and follow-ups to potential clients—automatically and at scale.

Marketing Top Talent (MPCs)

Got a Most Placeable Candidate? Create a custom Sequence to introduce them to targeted clients, following up if there’s no reply and keeping the conversation going.

Candidate and Client Nurturing

Stay top-of-mind with newsletters, announcements, or helpful industry content sent on a regular cadence. Perfect for passive candidates or long-term clients.

Who Should Use Sequencing?

Sequencing is ideal for mid-to-senior level recruiters, agency owners, and teams handling high-volume hiring or passive talent pipelines. If you:

  • Manage multiple open roles
  • Run business development outreach
  • Nurture long-term candidate/client relationships
  • Want to increase efficiency without sacrificing personalization

. . . then Sequencing is built for you!

Sequencing is more than just a feature—it’s a force multiplier. Automate your outreach, strengthen your relationships, and take control of your recruiting success.

As we head into the second quarter of 2025, your membership activity in Top Echelon’s recruiting network directly impacts how much success you can enjoy in TE Network.

That activity includes finding quality trading partners and forming relationships with them.

As the Director of Network Operations at Top Echelon, it’s my job to help TE Network members connect with one another as quickly and as effectively as possible.

That way, you can start working together and making splits. After all, making money is the name of the game.

With that in mind, have you asked yourself any—or all—of the following five questions?

#1—Are my Alerts returning bad results?

#2—Am I talking with the right recruiters?

#3—How do I find the right information?

#4—How do I find the right recruiters?

#5—What other steps do I need to take to make split placements?

If you’ve asked yourself one or more of these questions, then there’s one thing you need to do: CALL ME! I’ll talk with you about your Network membership and the specific things you should be doing to experience more success.

(If you have NOT asked yourself these questions, then you really need to CALL ME immediately!)

My goal is to get you together with other recruiters so that you can make more split placements.

Do NOT get discouraged, no matter the industry or niche in which you work. (Or the uncertainty that currently exists in the job market and/or economy.)

Instead, contact me and together we’ll put together a plan of attack and success for your TE Network membership for the rest of this year and beyond!

You can reach me at 330.595.1742 or by sending an email to drea@topechelon.com.

Not only has Amy Chapman of Key People Staffing been making a lot of split placements in TE Network recently, but she’s also been making a lot of split placements with big fees.

And that is abundantly clear once again, as Amy is part of the Largest Split Fee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2025!

Amy and Jeff Katz of JSK Recruiting placed a VP of Global Engineering to earn a $72K fee at 25%, earning the top spot for the first quarter. But Amy isn’t done there! She also claimed part of the ninth spot in the top 10, placing a Corporate Director of Procurement with Dianne Flory Intal of Success Matcher Recruitment, LLC to generate a $35K fee at 20%.

This just goes to show that you can never make too many TE Network split placements with big fees . . .

As a reminder, Top Echelon determines the monthly and quarterly winners of its Network split fee recruiting awards in four distinct categories:

1.) Recruiter of the Month
2.) Largest Split Fee of the Month
3.) Recruiter of the Quarter
4.) Largest Split Fee of the Quarter

We only announce the winners of these awards in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog. We do so usually (but not always) in the issue following the conclusion of each month and/or quarter.

Congratulations to everybody who made the largest split fees in TE Network during the quarter!

Show of hands, who here can believe that the first quarter of 2025 is gone?

Anybody? Anybody?

Well, neither can we. However, we do have some good news, and that good news takes the form of the Recruiters of the Quarter in TE Network!

As you can see below, Brad Dodge of iLocatum Recruiting earned another Recruiter of the Quarter Award. And also as you can see below, we have the top 10 TE recruiters from the first quarter.

And now that the second quarter is underway, so is the race for the Recruiter of the Quarter Award for the second quarter of 2025. On your marks . . . get set . . . go!

Below is the information that we include with the Recruiters of the Quarter feature in TE Network:

  1. The top 10 recruiters for the quarter
  2. The “cash-in” total for each recruiter during the quarter. (We base the order of the recruiters on their amount of “cash-in” dollars, as opposed to the number of split placements they made during the quarter.)
  3. The number of splits that the recruiters made during the quarter
  4. The date that each recruiter’s agency joined TE Network
  5. The number of splits each recruiter has made during their TE Network career
  6. Each recruiter’s cash-in total for their TE Network career

Congratulations to the recruiters listed below . . . and congratulations to every TE Network member who made a split placement (or multiple splits) during the quarter!
