You have many tools, services, and resources that you use as a recruiter and/or agency owner in your quest to make more placements. Membership in Top Echelon Network is just one of them.

But perhaps, since it’s the very first day of the New Year, you’ve been wondering about what kind of return on investment (ROI) you’re receiving on your Network Membership. That’s a valid question. (Although I hope you’re asking that question about every tool, service, and resource, that you use.)

Let’s cut right to the chase: you do NOT have to make a ton of split placements every year to earn a huge ROI in our Network. In fact, you only have to make one split placement to receive that huge ROI.

How huge is huge? I’m so glad you asked . . .

How the TE ROI is so high

Let’s start with cost. The monthly membership dues for Top Echelon’s recruiting network is $130 per month. Over the course of an entire year, a recruiting agency would pay $1,560 in Network Membership dues.

Let’s say that a Member agency makes one placement in the Network during that year. We’ll start with the fact that the average TE placement fee in recent years has been around $20,000. So let’s say this one placement brings with it an average TE placement fee.

Okay, so then Top Echelon takes 6% of that total as its brokerage fee. In this case, that fee is $1,200. That means each recruiter associated with the split placement will now split $18,800. Some quick math tells us that’s 9,400 per recruiter (or per agency).

Theoretically, the Member agency with which we started paid $1,560 in Membership dues over the course of a single year. That was the agency’s monetary investment. The return that it received on that investment is $9,189.

Pay $1,560, receive $9,400. That sounds like an acceptable return on investment (ROI).

That’s because you are more than doubling your money. That represents a 500% ROI, and that’s for each recruiter or agency involved in the split placement.

Maximize your 2020 return

So that’s the ROI of making just one split in Top Echelon Network in 2020: 500%. Of course, some Member agencies make far more than one split per year.

However, as you can see, the Network does not have to constitute a major part of your business or recruiting desk for you to receive a huge return on your investment. The Network is meant to supplement your business and your desk, to maximize it, so to speak.

One split placement is all it takes. If you have yet to make your first split in Top Echelon Network, then we want to help you do so in 2020. We want you to receive your 500% ROI.

That’s why I encourage you to contact our Director of Network Operations, Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS. You can do so by calling 330.455.1433, x156 or by sending an email to

Since tomorrow is the first day of the New Year, you might be wondering how you’re going to fill all of those open job orders on your desk.

It’s a common problem these days, since candidates are driving the market. Talent—top talent—is difficult to find and difficult to recruit.

That’s why THIS is how TE recruiters fill their open job orders:

By participating in a Virtual Core Group (VCG)!

During Virtual Core Group (VCG) teleconference calls, Network recruiters share the following:

  • Hot job orders and candidates
  • Information about the activity they’re seeing
  • Ideas for increased production on their desk and within their agencies

Sharing open job orders = making placements

There are recruiters on these calls who have candidates. They have quality candidates who they’re looking to place in your quality job orders. They just need to know about them. That means YOU must share what you have to offer.

I conduct Virtual Core Group calls within specific industries during the first full week of each month. Near the end of every month, you should receive an email detailing the next month’s VCG schedule.

If you’re a newer member of Top Echelon’s recruiter network, I especially encourage you to join an existing Virtual Core Group. You can even start a new one!

I have been holding VCG conference calls for well over over 10 years now. I can say without a doubt that the recruiters who participate in these calls make split placements because of these calls. It happens all the time.

These groups work, they’ve always worked, and they’re working right now. The only thing missing is YOU.

THIS is how you fill open job orders. Virtual Core Groups, along with other recruiter networking events, is how you make placements.

To join an existing Virtual Core Group or to start a new one, contact me at 330.455.1433, x156 or via email at

It’s no secret that most, if not ALL, third-party recruiting agencies use the LinkedIn social media platform.

It’s also no secret that it’s our goal at Top Echelon to communicate with our Network Members as much as we possibly can.

While we strive to do that with The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog and other tools, chances are good that you spend at least part of your day in LinkedIn.

As a result, we view LinkedIn as yet another way to share important news and information with Top Echelon Network Member agencies.

That’s why I’m encouraging you to follow Top Echelon on LinkedIn!

Not all Network recruiters use Twitter. Not all Network recruiters use Facebook (and if they do, it might be for personal reasons and not professional ones). However, as I stated above, most Network recruiters use LinkedIn.

Not only do we share general news, articles, and trends about the recruiting industry, but we also release Network-specific information and announcements.

That way, if you don’t see certain information in the Members’ Area, you might see it in your LinkedIn feed. We like to cover all the bases. So once again, click the link below to follow us.

Follow Top Echelon on LinkedIn!

Keep in mind that we don’t share sensitive information via LinkedIn, only general news and announcements. (In addition to recruiting-specific articles and blog posts.)

Communication is one of The Four Pillars of Top Echelon Network, so it’s something that we take seriously. We believe proper communication is integral to Network success, both for Top Echelon recruiters and for ourselves.

So follow us on LinkedIn—and quite possibly the other social media platforms—and allow us to communicate with you!

At Top Echelon, we’ve found that the best way to communicate the trading partner benefits associated with Network Membership is to use real, live case studies.

Recruiters love placements, and they love stories about recruiters making placements. (The only thing they would love more is a story about them making placements.)

With that being said, there is no case study in this blog post. Psych! Instead, what we’re going to do is draw upon past case studies to compile a list of the trading partner benefits that are available to Top Echelon Network recruiters.

Okay, no more fooling. Below is our list of four trading partner benefits in Top Echelon’s recruiting network:

#1—Quality candidates

This is what it’s all about, isn’t it? These days, highly qualified, quality candidates are in short supply.

That’s why companies are enlisting your services in the first place, but even you are having trouble finding these candidates. However, when you leverage the resources of your trading partners, you have access to quality candidates you could not access before.

#2—Smoother hiring and placement process

One of the best reasons to enlist the help of a trading partner is because you can’t seem to fill the position yourself, for whatever reason: a picky hiring manager, a bloated and convoluted hiring process, El Nino, you name it. Your trading partners can help “smooth out the rough edges.”

#3—Enhanced onboarding

The placement is not done once the candidate starts work. They have to stay at work (usually until after the guarantee period has elapsed). Once again, two heads are better than one, as your trading partners can assist in the onboarding process and offer advice and expertise based on their experience.

#4—A more effective teamwork approach

This is more a culmination of #1 through #3. Being a recruiter is not an easy job, and for some searches, the job seems just about impossible.

However, when you team up with another recruiter and tackle the job order as a team, you double your brainpower, double your resources, and Doublemint, Doublemint, Doublemint Gum. No, wait a minute. Scratch that last one.

Do YOU want to maximize your Membership and experience more trading partner benefits in Top Echelon’s split network?

Last week in The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog, we announced our office hours for the Christmas holiday.

Well, we have another holiday coming up this week. It should come as no surprise that holiday is New Year’s Day.

Yes, Tuesday, December 31, is “Make Up Your Mind Day.” However, we’re NOT closing down the Top Echelon offices for that holiday.

That’s right—we’re only closed one day this week. The Top Echelon Software offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday. These hours apply to:

Our offices will re-open for business as usual at 8 a.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Thursday, January 2.

New Year, same great taste

This year was a great one for Top Echelon Network and its Member recruiting agencies. (In fact, we’ll have proof of that in our year-end statistics. We’ll publish these statistics in a future issue of The Pinnacle Newsletter Blog.)

We’re glad that we were able to help you network more effectively, generate more business, and make more split placements in 2019. We look forward to doing more of the same in 2020!

We recently sent out a short survey to our customers asking their opinion on many aspects of the recruiting industry and employment landscape. So if you haven’t seen that survey and/or completed it, then I encourage you to participate.

We value the feedback of customers just like YOU. We use your feedback to continue serving you in the best and most complete manner possible.

In the meantime, we hope that you enjoy the holiday and ring in New Year’s Day with both optimism and enthusiasm. (Oh, and don’t forget to make up your mind on Tuesday.)

Happy New Year!
